I just discovered that Englaon TV’s do not fully interface with Vast Satellite input. The picture is good but unfortunately there is no sound. I… Read more

contacted Englaon Support and was advised that they are aware of this issue and there may be a software update to resolve this in the future. However no time frame was given.

If l was aware of this issue I would have purchased from a different company.

I am really happy with this ENGLAON 24″ HD LED 12V TV with built-in DVD player. I specifically didn’t want a smart TV and this works perfectly with… Read more

my Fire Stick. The picture quality is clear and sharp, and the sound is excellent for a TV considering the size. I also love the built-in DVD player, which is really convenient and saves needing an extra device. I only had a small space available to place a TV, so this one was the perfect size and fits beautifully. The controls are simple and easy to use, making it very straightforward to set up and operate. Overall, I’m very pleased with this TV and it does exactly what I needed. Highly recommend.

A total waste of money and terrible after sales service. After deciding to upgrade from the ‘stock’ tv in our caravan I decided to purchase the… Read more

Englaon 27 inch x90. Less than 9 months after purchasing it at a caravan and camping show the display suddenly developed strange lines across the screen which the manufacturer claims is not covered under warranty. Their assessment was made without them even physically inspecting the tv as they claim they diagnosed the issue from the photos I sent. My gripe is that this tv has been used less than 6 times and has always been stored in a protective bag with care and attention. I do not recommend buying this product for two reasons 1. The terrible after sales service and 2. Poorly designed product that should be designed to withstand travel in a caravan and last longer than 9 months especially given the price they are charging. Total fail Englaon!

Very disappointing – We purchased this TV because we needed a small smart TV which would fit in a particular space. There are very few smart TVs available in this size… Read more

so we took a gamble with this unknown brand offered on ebay. We have a larger smart TV in another location and it works just fine with our NBN connection. Every interaction with this TV is problematic. Setting up the menu, searching for a program, connecting the bluetooth sound, watching a program; they all have issues. The sound drops out randomly, the picture freezes or just stops responding to the remote, the functions take forever to respond or just drop out. We are forever turning it off and back on again. The picture on digital TV is a horrible purple colour and cant be corrected with the adjustments. Fortunately it is fine on smart TV. When it works properly and we can watch a whole show without a problem, we are quite happy with the performance but this is rare. The fact that it works sometimes convinces me that it doesn't have a fault but is just a very poor product. The seller is interstate so not worth following up on. Definitely not recommended.

I purchased the Engloan LED 24X90 after reading positive comments about Engloan TVs. Based on my experience, I’m not sure whether those reviews were… Read more

written by long-term owners or by someone’s mate’s cousin’s dog at the Bonnie Doon Caravan Park.

1) Build quality: “lightweight” is doing a lot of work here

Unboxing it, the TV felt about as sturdy as an A 4 sheet of paper that’s had a hard day in the wind. The plastics feel cheap and like they could crack if you look at them with strong opinions.

2) Tuning: the TV channels have filed for an intervention order

I could not find any TV channels. Still can’t.

Important context: my caravan is in the same location where my old TV previously picked up all stations without drama. So unless the broadcast towers packed up and moved overnight, the issue appears to be this unit.

3) Sound & picture: nostalgia, but not the good kind

To test the viewing experience, I downloaded ABC i View.

The sound is tinny enough to qualify as a percussion instrument. My old TV (a budget unit) sounded better. The picture is only slightly better than my 13‑year‑old TV, which is not the upgrade arc I was hoping for. 4) USB / external hard drive: the real horror story

Here’s where it gets spicy.

I tried connecting an external hard drive so I could watch my own content. The moment the TV recognised the drive, it wiped/corrupted it. Days of formatting and organising content: gone.

I then tried a second hard drive (brand new). The TV said it was corrupt.

I formatted the drive using the TV. Success! Briefly.

Then I plugged it into my computer to load content… and my computer wouldn’t recognise it. So the TV can format it, but my computer can’t read it afterwards. It’s like the drive has joined a witness protection program.

5) What I was told vs what happened

Before ordering, I asked Engloan whether I could connect an external hard drive with my own content. I was told yes.

I asked again when collecting the TV. Again: yes.

After the above issues, contacting Engloan for support was… not encouraging. The vibe was “not our problem”, which is a bold strategy when your product is actively eating hard drives.

6) Summary (for busy shoppers)

Build quality: flimsy Tuning: no channels found Sound: tinny Picture: barely an upgrade USB hard drive: corrupted/wiped drives; formatting issues Support: unhelpful (in my experience) I collected the TV Monday lunchtime. By Wednesday lunchtime I was ready to return it via javelin.

Buyer beware. I’m now taking steps under the Australian Consumer Law because, on my experience, this unit is not fit for purpose.
