quality. Have a built in microphone so can be used for phone calls. You can answer phone calls easily while wearing them. Sit on the ears, not in or over, so they allow some air circulation into the ear, which I find good to prevent sweating and itching. The headband can be pulled to be more open or closed, so you can find a pressure on your ears you’re comfortable with. The ear padding is very soft and comfortable. Easy to use controls, you can feel with your fingers without removing the headphones. Lightweight The wireless range is good, seems to be about 20 or 30 feet. They last a good length of time, I’d say at least 10 hours, before they need recharging. CONS: if you like a light pressure on your ears, the compromise is that the headphones aren’t being held on by much, they’re fine for walking around, and I’ve worn them while doing things around the house and garden. They wouldn’t be suitable for running. The headband has no padding, and I have a piece of black packing foam attached to make them more comfortable. OVERALL: I’d buy them again

the online store, great sound and NC for sure, but they intermitently dropped the touchpad capability and would randomly switch off mid use. I reached out to Sony direct as it was less than 3 months after I purchased them and was told to factory reset them, (I had tried this immediatly when the fault first happened) so when I said this did nothing I was not so much as offered an apology for the faulty $500+ headset, but instead just told to package them up and send for repair and they would be "repaired if found faulty".... they are less than 3 mths old?!?!?!?!

Pick up your game Sony, this is terrible service.

plagued with issues and are basically unusable. The right earbud barely lasts 20 minutes, and the left only slightly longer.

Sony’s response has been extremely disappointing — they want to charge $167.40 just to inspect the fault, with parts (likely the batteries) costing extra. That means a total repair could easily exceed $200, despite this being a well-documented and widespread defect. A quick search online shows countless users reporting the same problem, yet Sony refuses to acknowledge or address it properly.

It’s clear they’re aware of the issue but would rather push customers toward buying the newer WF-1000XM5s instead. These WF-1000XM4s have turned into nothing more than an expensive paperweight.

Verdict: Pathetic reliability for a so-called “premium” product. I’ll never buy Sony earbuds again — and I strongly recommend others think twice before doing so.

and they block out enough noise (for the price) and movies and music sounds on point. They were a little troublesome connecting to Apple devices and I was forced to download the Sony app to make them connect, which I was hesitant to do after once owning a Sony DSLR that required an app which was terrible. But this app was easier to use. Wireless range is good - my kid can be at one end of the house with these headphones on while his mobile device is at the other end and he has no worries.

N700NC M2, in all aspects except for active noise cancellation and charging speed.

Sound quality is fantastic when using higher level Bluetooth codecs. Bass is abundant in spades, although only if you switch to the lowest level codec, SBC. The reason is that bass levels can only be tweaked to their full potential while in SBC mode (in the companion app). Higher level codecs (AptX and above), however, still provide sufficient enough bass.

Comfort is quite good as attested by the fact that I've fallen asleep wearing these on multiple occasions. The trade-off is that they MAY slip off with rigorous use. The clamping force is geared towards comfort, not exercise.

Build quality seems up to par – no complaints as of yet. A far cry from the aforementioned AKGs, which exhibited a number of issues resulting from poor build quality.

Battery life is something like 30+ hours, which I'd wager is a major pro in anyone's book. The downside is that they charge slow, taking several hours to go from zero to full.

The real catch is active noise cancellation. I wont lie, it's not great. 'Average' would be the way I'd describe it. You'd certainly find better performing ANC elsewhere at this price point.

In terms of the microphone, I've received no complaints from people at the other end. Seems to function as it should.
