I had my solar system installed in the second week of August, and at this stage I cannot fault the product. Everything has operated exactly as expected, with no issues in performance, monitoring, or reliability. Before committing to the installation, I did extensive research on Google and found consistent feedback about the system being robust,… Read more

well‑designed, and suited to Australian conditions. My experience so far matches that research. The system has been stable, responsive, and producing energy in line with what was promised.

While it’s still early days, the results are already noticeable. My predicted electricity bill dropped significantly after the system was switched on, confirming that the product is delivering real savings.

Based on my experience to date, the product appears to be high‑quality, reliable, and built to perform. I’ll continue monitoring it over the coming months, but so far it has met every expectation.

Matt from 1Komma5 has been amazing to deal with. He was able to ensure a seamless install and the local company that came to install on our remote town was wonderful, knowledgeable, polite and clean. produced 70KW yesterday so gave back 50 to the grid. I’m now excited to see our energy bill lol

I did a lot of shopping around, getting quotes (local and online) but 1K5 had the best warranties and I love that their German engineered batteries will be working for years to come. Matt was never a pushy salesman like some other companies I dealt with and took care of me when things took longer than originally anticipated. Do you offer referral code because I’m sending a lot of friends your way! Haha

Cannot speak highly enough of 1Komma5. I had a couple of very negative experiences with 2 other solar suppliers before I spoke to 1Komma5 and it was a night and day difference. Amazing experience... the Solar Consultant was excellent... broke the ice, made a quick friend, then really listened to us. company that will be around for many years to take care off us! He really analyzed our bills properly across the year and then designed the proper battery to add on to our current 6.6kw solar system! By the end he'd covered everything we wanted and it felt natural and not pushy. So we signed up on the spot using the $0 Deposit repayment plan. It really is just a trade-off we stopped paying AGL and used that same money to simply pay off the Solar Battery. The pre-install team was great keeping us updated along the way we were installed 6 weeks later. Installers were prompt and professional and after good discussion we decided to put the battery on the outside wall instead of inside the garage. I love how they included a Cover the inverter and battery at no charge! We did need to use a brick to keep the battery level because our house is on slant. But that doesn't bother me. Got setup with Heartbeat AI which also set me up with Amber Electricity and now its been about a month and I'm already have no electricity cost and earning about $1-$3/day on top of no bills to pay! At this pace I'll be at $500/yr earnings!

The initial sales rep was helpful and shared a lot of information. We ended up getting it installed a few weeks earlier than planned. The guys that installed the battery were just amazing. Informative and polite and shared along the way what they were doing and very respectful of our house, kids sand puppies. Also left no mess behind at all. ***WARNING: DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY*** 1KOMMA5’s post-contract service has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. What makes this particularly disappointing is the stark contrast between the attention and reassurance I received before signing and the lack of service afterwards. Two of the main reasons I chose 1KOMMA5… Read more

were their “5 YEAR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE” and the assurance that the battery could be relocated to our new property once it was built.

Before signing, I specifically asked the salesperson several times about the terms and limitations of the money-back guarantee. I was told: “There aren’t any… it applies if you’re not 100% satisfied; all you need to do is keep the panels reasonably clean.” I understood this to mean that if I was not satisfied with the system or service within the first five years, I could get my money back and 1KOMMA5 would remove the system.

== Before signing vs after signing ==

Before signing, the sales attention was relentless. The salesperson even arrived at our house unannounced to “help answer my questions” and encourage me to sign. Verbally, he was great at telling me what I wanted to hear, but I often had to ask several times before he would send written confirmation of his claims. I insisted that his verbal promises and guarantees be put in writing. They had appeared in my initial proposal and emails but disappeared from the formal contract. When I raised this, he assured me it was simply a mistake, added them back, and then applied further urgency to sign quickly or miss out.

After considerable reassurance, I signed. This is when the service dramatically changed. When I experienced problems with the system after installation, getting meaningful assistance was extremely difficult. My calls were repeatedly passed off between people with no follow-up, and generalised promises were made with no follow-through. This continued for several weeks without resolution and I discovered that my complaint had been closed.

Eventually, out of frustration, I posted an online review here.

Only then did 1KOMMA5 suddenly contact me and offer to resolve the issues. I was offered remedial work at no cost on the condition that I remove the review. I agreed, as I was worried it was my only option. However, being offered a resolution in exchange for removing a negative review left me extremely uncomfortable.

== The battery relocation ==

Around 11 months after signing the initial contract, I needed to organise relocating the existing battery to our new build, and installing a new solar system there. I found myself effectively locked into 1KOMMA5 because of the battery warranty and thus reluctantly requested a quote from them to carry out the new works.

Between 18 May and 15 July 2026, we repeatedly tried to obtain this quote. We supplied the salesperson with the construction plans, photos, roof pitch and other relevant information multiple times. He confirmed he had everything he needed and would send the quote that afternoon - days later I called to chase it up as I hadn’t received the quote, at which point he asked us to resend the same information because he “could not find it”. After that, he then insisted a site visit was necessary. My partner rearranged her workday to meet him at the agreed date and time.

He didn't show up.

When my partner called him, his response was: “Oh s**t, I forgot, I’ve been busy.” He then asked again for the same information we’d already supplied several times. At that point, I told the salesperson I had completely lost trust in 1KOMMA5 and wanted to invoke the “5 YEAR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE.” He said he understood and would stop making excuses.

== The “5 YEAR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE” ==

Approximately 90 minutes later, we suddenly received a quote. As a side note - it contained multiple errors and did not accurately reflect what we had requested. I emailed the salesman to reiterate that I have requested to invoke the guarantee. I also formally submitted a complaint to 1KOMMA5 via the channels specified in my contract and requested that the guarantee be honoured.

What followed was considerable pressure from the salesman to accept the quote proposal, including calls, texts and repeated emails, with references to a “stock-take sale”, a “matter of emergency” and deadlines for accepting the offer. At the same time, 1KOMMA5’s Head of Aftercare responded to my formal complaint stating that 1KOMMA5 would not “assess eligibility” until “after the fifth anniversary of installation" — in my case, 2030 — and that the guarantee was subject to the additional “full terms”.

After a few emails back and forth, I was then provided with a link and PDF containing additional terms and limitations that had never been disclosed to me before signing. These terms are fundamentally different from how the guarantee was represented to me when I made the decision to purchase.

This is now the main issue in my dispute with 1KOMMA5.

The “5 YEAR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE” was prominently promoted on my quotation and their website. I have repeatedly asked 1KOMMA5 to show me where these significant limitations were disclosed before I signed the contract and where they formed part of my signed agreement. I have not been provided with evidence showing that they were. They have however stated, “I do not want to speculate about the sales process”.

My attempts to resolve this directly with 1KOMMA5 have remained at an impasse, so I am proceeding with formal complaints to the Office of Fair Trading and the New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC). I am posting this review because I wish I had known about these experiences before signing.

No problems with install (Dec24) at first, then a few months in a complete black out - mains-battery link burnt out, went one night no power - fixed next day. So far so good. Show details

Follow-up  · First issue was couldnt reach anybody after hours - gave their support a big earful on that, was assured it would be better in future. Fault was obvious once gateway was opened - heavy link wire burned badly, fixing screw damaged. Link and screw replaced quickly, no problems since.

Follow-up  · No more issues since the blackout, thankfully. Cause seemed to be a jumper cable (multi-strand copper wire) not properly tightened in its connector - the tech was a bit tight lipped. The repair was quick - new jumper cable, and tighten up the securing screw properly.

Exceptional service, transparency, and a team that genuinely fixes problems. Highly recommend 1KOMMA5°! The Challenge: Finding the Right Fit Before the 2026 Rebate Drop I started my solar journey with a 6.5kW Fronius system already on my roof. I… Read more

wanted to add a battery to maximize self-sufficiency and secure the best possible rebate before the start of 2026. Admittedly, I didn't fully understand inverter types or battery sizing at first. I also had a basic interest in Amber Electric and wanted a system that would complement my existing setup. After gathering six different quotes, I quickly realized that navigating this industry is difficult. Only two companies made the cut based on price, equipment quality, and installation timelines. Why I Chose 1KOMMA5° I ultimately chose 1KOMMA5° for three main reasons: 1. Premium Hardware: I wanted high-quality, German-engineered equipment. 2. Fair Pricing: The quote was competitive and right in the expected range for premium gear. 3. Speed: They guaranteed they could get the system locked in before the 2026 rebate deadline. I settled on a new 6kW panel system with a 5kW inverter and a large 40kWh battery, which was supposed to AC-couple alongside my old Fronius system. [1] Phase 1: Seamless Install & The 5kW Charging Bottleneck Once the deposit was paid, the administration was effortless. 1KOMMA5° handled all the compliance paperwork and rebates seamlessly. The communication was proactive, and the initial installation team was on time, courteous, neat, and highly efficient. Both systems fired up and worked together, but I quickly noticed a technical bottleneck. Even though I had two 5kW inverters feeding the property, the battery could only physically charge at a maximum rate of 5kW per hour. With 12.5kW of panels total and a large 40kWh battery, it was going to take far too long to fully charge. I was gutted. The Turning Point: How 1KOMMA5° Stepped Up This is where 1KOMMA5° proved they are a cut above the rest. Instead of leaving me stranded, my sales rep, Joel Price, listened to my concerns. We decided the best path forward was to decommission the old inverter and upgrade the new setup to a single 10kW inverter, allowing all panels on the roof to run through it. Joel worked out a very competitive deal for the upgrade that I was incredibly pleased with. There was a waiting period for the new part, which was completely acceptable because Sarah from the after-care team kept me thoroughly informed and up-to-date the entire time. She was fantastic. When the day came, the upgrade installation crew was just like the first team: friendly, polite, clean, and fast.

**Very disappointing experience** I have been very disappointed with my experience with 1KOMMA5. Powerwall 3 installation Following the installation of my Powerwall 3, there were problems with the firmware and wiring at the Tesla Gateway. It took about two weeks, repeated calls and numerous emails before a further visit was arranged. I had to… Read more

do much of the troubleshooting myself, including taking screenshots, monitoring my electricity meter and providing data from my solar system. Tesla Support confirmed that the firmware needed updating to support my combined Powerwall 2 and Powerwall 3 system, despite me repeatedly raising this with 1KOMMA5 support and the project manager.

Tesla Support also identified that the Powerwall 3 had been wired incorrectly at the Gateway. This caused grid exports after solar generation had stopped and prevented the Powerwall from properly powering my home. It is staggering that these problems were not identified through testing on the installation day.

Communication was very poor. The salesperson was initially the only person I could contact by phone, while the project manager did not respond to my emails. To his credit, the salesperson was sympathetic and helpful, which was the only positive part of the experience.

Meter-box upgrade

1KOMMA5 advised that my meter box required upgrading because it had a wooden backing and contained asbestos. I was told this was necessary for safety and compliance, and it was included in the quote. However, the installers arrived with no knowledge that this work had been quoted.

A Level 2 electrician was booked for a Saturday almost two weeks later, but nobody arrived. I received no phone call, email or SMS, leaving me waiting around all day.

Given the other installation problems, I no longer trusted 1KOMMA5 to complete this work properly and cancelled it. I will now engage my own electrician.

Overall, the experience involved poor communication, incomplete work, a missed appointment and far too much effort on my part to get the problems fixed. For an installation of this cost, I expected much better and could not recommend 1KOMMA5.

Extremely disappointing experience with 1KOMMA5°. I originally engaged them in 2024 to install solar panels while my house was under construction. By that point, I had paid all but $1,000 of the… Read more

contract.

When I asked them to return in 2025 to complete the solar installation, I initially received little to no response. I was eventually advised by a staff member that it might be easier for them to return if I also installed batteries, which I agreed to, paying approximately $20,000. (total paid for panels and batteries was $34,000)

It took close to a year for the installation to be completed. There were multiple cancelled appointments, and on three occasions contractors failed to attend without any prior notification. Two separate contractors also cancelled part way through because they said bringing the batteries down a flight of steps was too difficult. I eventually arranged and paid removalists for the batteries to be carried downstairs.

The final contractor was good and I had no issue with their work. My main problem was 1KOMMA5°'s communication and management of the project.

Most concerningly, approximately six months before the works were completed, 1KOMMA5° referred the remaining $1,000 balance to a debt collector. At that point, the inverter was not installed and the panels were not connected to the grid. I was contacted regularly by the debt collector (no issues with them) despite explaining that the installation was incomplete. Each time, I was told that 1KOMMA5° had updated their advise to them that the works were complete.

The final installation was eventually completed, but the nearly year-long delay, repeated cancellations, poor communication and debt collection referral made this an extremely frustrating experience.

everything changed.

We went through the entire process in good faith, only to be strung along for months with repeated promises of installation dates that never eventuated. Every enquiry turned into another excuse, another transfer to a different department, or another staff member who was supposedly “unavailable.” Nobody ever took responsibility, and despite countless assurances that someone would call us back, nobody ever did.

The level of communication and customer service has been absolutely appalling. We wasted hours chasing answers, repeating ourselves to different people, and getting nowhere. It felt like once the money was paid, we no longer mattered.

We eventually cancelled our contract out of sheer frustration and repeatedly requested the return of our deposit. Even that has turned into another drawn-out battle, with ignored emails, no follow-up, and no refund received.

Sunboost install of an exact same FOXESS system so I could be fair. I have delved into this “German Technology” quote and all I can find is that the only German technology is the APP that they use for the VPP. The Batteries and Inverter are all rebranded Chinese technology and manufacture, there is nothing “German” about any of it other than some initial design. 1KOMMA5 have very poor communications and after reading some of the newer reviews here I fully agree with the delays and difficulties. While the installers were nice guys 1KOMMA5 forgot to advise them that I had increased the size of the battery and I had a 100km round trip to pick this additional battery up for them so they could complete the project that day. I also looked after the family members job with Sunboost and am very impressed with the whole journey, from communications all the way through, to the install team. It was perfect and it was exactly the same product, FOXESS, that 1KOMMA5 rebadged and sold to me at a higher price. My learnings are that the FOXESS equipment is great and the performance is impressive. My recommendations are to shop around and when you get your quotes, break down the equipment and get comparitive quotes. At the end of the day 1KOMMA5 is a marketing company selling rebranded equipment at a premium price. One last thing - don’t go near Arise as they have failed to deliver on another project I was looking after for a friend.

The install guys were absolutely brilliant, they get 5 stars. 1komma5 gets 3 stars, I feel as though I may have made a huge error in engaging 1KOMMA5 for our solar upgrade. been sent a bill for $2500 over and above our original accepted quote. It's been an interesting ride to say the least.

I was offered a FREE upgrade after the first debacle (10th March, wheel fell off the installers trailer whilst travelling on the highway). After an initial call to try and have our install done on a Saturday, nobody bothered to contact me to let me know that you couldn't find anyone to do an install on a Saturday. Fast forward approx. 30 days, I sat on the phone ON HOLD for over 1 hour to the customer service number, in the end I hung up and called your bookings team, only waited 5-10 minutes on hold there, only to be told that we had to wait until late April for our install. That is when the 1komma5 representative said that they were approved to offer a panel upgrade for free. The representative was under the impression that the panels were damage when the wheel fell off the trailer. I informed her that the installer had said to me that nothing was damaged.

21st April install was cancelled because somebody on the install team had to fly back to NZ for a family issue. Then finally after another reschedule 28th April, panels are installed after a scanning issue. So, either they put the larger panels on or we had no solar system and our older system was already removed by this stage. The installer said that usually when the panels won't scan, they have been discontinued/superseded. 1komma5 would have known prior to the install that the panels would be an issue or are the people in their warehouse incompetent.

For each install date, that was missed by them, I had rearranged my working schedule to be at home on those dates. I don't appreciate losing my annual leave days like this.

Yes I have emailed them in regard to the bill that has been sent to us.

I have not setup their Heartbeat Ai, it has some really mixed reviews on it's functionality and actual battery/system management capabilities. It allegedly also does not reflect the system status accurately. I also prefer to be in control of our solar.

UPDATE: I have been contacted multiple times from 1KOMMA5 to pay a bill that doesn't exist. I have sent the proof of payment 3 times now to 2 different people. They even sent it to a debt collection agency, despite being sent proof of payment.

The system is working perfectly (so far) their app works seamlessly and monitors the system nicely.
