Is the spare parts arm of this business trying to destroy the AVAN company? After trying to order a part before Christmas…they were overloaded and going on holidays. Fair enough. I left my order til the new year. They only use couriers, not Aus Post. It costs $28 for courier to bring $22 very light window stay. As I drive past this area from time… Read more

to time, decided to do Click and Collect. Order completed on Feb 23rd. Have the receipt. I asked if it mattered if I didn’t collect for a while as I couldn’t be sure when I was travelling past. No problem. I dropped in yesterday 16th March. 1. They couldn’t find my order 2. They had to go to their warehouse and find me another one. I asked how long it would take as I had long drive ahead of me. The guy said 5 minutes. 3. They took about 30 minutes. 4. I felt that the place was weird. The girl at the desk was fine and polite. I did notice signs in her office about being polite and team work etc..strange(but now I know why). Pretty sure they are aimed at the little alpha male in charge. 5. I was annoyed at the delay, but thought I wouldn’t say anything, so long as I got a quick apology ( like, sorry it took so long). 6. Very foolish of me to expect an apology. They were shocked when I asked for one. 7. Then the apparent manager bounded out of his office. Explained that it was my fault that they lost my order, as I had taken months to collect it. They clear out all orders after a couple of weeks. Then he showed me the door after an overly fake apology. 8. I had previously asked on a phone call about a replacement blade for one of my windows in my 2007 Avan Tayla HT. I was quickly fobbed off and abruptly informed that they don’t make them anymore. I tried all over Aus to find one but was unsuccessful. I told them about this yesterday. They then said the new ones on the Ovation would fit. REALLY! By now I’ve had enough of the Alpha male lying bully. (Check the dates). I told them that no wonder their business is going down the toilet. 9. If there is a person that this Alpha Male bully answers to, they need to address his customer service and management skills. 10. I am considering buying a new van this year. I told him I wouldn’t touch an Avan again. This based on yesterday’s deceitful and unprofessional behaviour. He said words to the effect that he couldn’t care less. 11. I predict that Avan is struggling and will die a quick death while this Alpha male is trying to run the spare parts division. I’m guessing he couldn’t organise a visit to the toilet.

Avoid Avan Pakenham at all costs. The entire company from management down have a culture of lies, deception and misogyny. After 6 months of having our M6 Ovation, they still managed to do shoddy workmanship. I would like to name and shame certain members of that particular company for their atrocious treatment towards us, especially at the end of… Read more

the 6 months when we needed it back; but they managed to get google to take down my more detailed review. Anyway, I'm sure Avan Pakenham will eventually close down due to their appalling treatment of the customer.

Avan Very unsatisfied customer – Bought a brand new Avan Aspire499 last year in August 23 from Super Avan Centre Camberwell. They were great to deal with, at first. Then when the van started to expand in March 24 we had to return it for multiple repairs inside. The roof came away from the cabinetry which they said was caused to a manufacturing issue with the person who they hired… Read more

to fit the interior walls and roof. They said he no longer worked there for obvious reasons. The wall paper all buckled away from the walls and windows and every window frame inside had to be removed and they wall paper redone. The shower wall came away from the back and they said it was once again due to the person they hired who didn’t do the work properly.. Once fixed they returned it to us but the shoddy workmanship was very obvious as the silicone was not applied correctly and there are gaps in the walls..They must have rehired the same person. We were told it was fixed to the standards of Avan. The customer service was appalling and they have basically told us it’s as good as it gets. What an absolute disgrace that they won’t accept responsibility for a badly made product. I would never recommend to buy an Avan as their products and standards are of very poor quality..

TOTALLY UNHAPPY – Signed contract for Golf Avan.556 tourer in February 2022. Took possession of it approximately 1 month ago. I am a veteran with quite a few injuries and specifically asked that every nut and bolt and everything be checked before handing over to me. Could not believe the absolute disregard for this. Every nut, bolt and water connection was loose. I… Read more

also had to go underneath the van and found that there was a hose rubbing against shock absorber, wires rubbing against sharp steel edges, the four bolts holding the rear bar in place only had 4 washers and the head of all bolts was bearly holding, welding not complete. Two of the nuts were also not even covering the bolt. PATHETIC!! Wholes had been patched up poorly where piping came through floor etc. Was also issued with a second hand monitor for the caravan camera which did not work. Incredible. I have now spent a total of 5 hours underneath the van wrecking my back, replacing nuts, bolts, washers etc to my standard. I understand people are busy but this is ABSOLUTE CRAP! Tried to contact Avan headiffice so many times but very very rearly would I get through with my concerns. Whe. I did in kne ear and out the other.Never again.

It says on the side “proudly made in Australia “ !! – Water condenses on the aluminium roof edge then down the corner spring rotting out the corner timber. The end result is the spring forcing the corner of the van apart. Timber is untreated in any way to resist water or rot most of the screws , staples are partly or completely rusted away . The timber is made by joining little bits together too cheap to use a decent piece of timber We love the avan concept but hate the shoddy way it has been made

Don’t use fridays – We have always liked the avan as a quality finished van Pity when you have a issue with the water coming up through your shower when you empty the sink After sales help is absolutely disgusting We rang Friday morning yo be told there wasn’t any staff to help but were promised to receive a phone call from a staff member As it was turning late… Read more

AVAN? You're on your own! – Having recently bought a new Sportliner, the roof latches failed due to poor workmanship (spotweld instead of firm weld) The selling dealer :Permier Avan , the only WA dealer, would not return a phone call where I was hoping for replacement by mail so I wrote to the manufacturer ,somewhat difficult to find in Pakenham Vic., complaining about the… Read more

quality and the dealer service failure.by registered mail for proof of delivery. It was delivered , BUT NO RESPONSE TO EITHER ISSUE!! You are on your own here. GLAD I DIDN'T BUY ONE! – I have a friend who bought a new Avan and has had on going troubles and zero help from the company, and I have seen first hand the shoddy workmanship. It seems they are very keen to take your money but not stand behind their product while under warranty. If he could give zero stars he would. Show details

Excellent help and friendly service – We could not be happier with the service and advice that we have received from Avan in Bayswater. The few issues that we had with our new Aspire 470 were met with friendly help and advice with only minimal first fixes required. The staff in both the sales area and service department have made us very pleased to have chosen an Avan. We look forward to lots of safe and happy travels …. Aspire 555-3. Grey water drain in shower – Van was purchased from Geelong caravans. Van was great to take on our first holiday. The Van had 2 fresh water tanks one each side of the axil. Customer focus missing from Penrith NSW – Once sold, the dealers cosistantly fail to respond to owners. One of The sales people have told me it was my fault the caravan brakes did not work. It actually turned out he had wired them in reverse, positive to earth!!! Head office have yet to inform me my van has a Cooktop that has a recall on it. Buyer beware. Avan do not stand by their product – Avan were aware of a glue problem leading to delamination in 2017. Obviously a manufacturing problem they take no responsibility for. Motor homes are not cheap and surely you would be forgiven for assuming due to their knowledge they would attend to repairs. No, warranty only applies to original owner. Ours was first registered in January 2016, we purchased privately in October 2018, delamination appeared in July 2019.

Buyer be informed first!!!! – Avan A-frames are an ingenious product, let down badly by the company that makes them in Australia. It would be convienient to say this is because of increased demand and hence workload of building more… Read more

since Covid19 but that would be untrue as these problems have been going on for a long time.

For example, posted in on the FB page yesterday was the discovery of the solar controller being wired incorrectly to the fuel pump! this is only one example of build issues and service issues that reguarly pop up on that page.

Having said that, owners are a marvelous bunch of DIY fix-its so once all the quality issues are resolved the vans are great.

M6 Ovation. Poor workmanship, difficult to contact dealer to organize repairs – We thought it would be easy to get warranty repairs done quickly after purchase, however it has been a difficult process to contact the dealer and organize the repairs. been picked up and corrected in the factory before delivery and which made me wonder if they had any sort of quality assurance process in place. Never left Victoria with it, just constantly driving it 100's of kms back to Melbourne for repairs under warranty, to the point where I became just totally over it all and sold it rather than risk encountering any more major problems with it especially on a long trip. Some holiday! I found the service dept staff very helpful but was very difficult to get through to speak to them past some very unhelpful office staff. Had to wait for a part which I allege I was told was coming from China because it's basically made over there, coming in kit form (panels, etc) from China and only being assembled in Australia, but I was told by salesman when I bought it that it was "made in Australia". Their website currently has a "Made in Australia" sticker on it! Have now sold it, with a lot of money down the drain and a great deal of disappointment. I can only write from my own personal experience.
