Adopt Solar recently installed a 28kW battery system at my home with 10KW panels, and I am very satisfied with the results. Everything was smooth and fast and needs a special mention to Robert’s communication and support throughout that process. It was exceptional. The installation team was clearly experienced and completed the work quickly. Show details · 1
Adopt Solar recently installed a 41.9kW battery system at my home, and I am very satisfied with the results. quickly. While there was some room for improvement in the physical installation process, the system's quality and Robert's top-tier customer service made for a great overall experience.

EDIT FROM MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: After being pressured to complete our initial review and after completion of installation this company has tried to claim additional money for goods not supplied by them and installation of parts that were included in the pricing we discussed with them OR advised by their team prior to the install that specific items… Read more
weren't needed. It seems that the consultant - [Name Removed] - will tell you one thing to get your business and than someone else will try and come after you for more money - [Name Removed]. This happened during the quoting process also, where [Name Removed] would advise us of information or pricing and [Name Removed] would try and give us different pricing for the same thing. Extremely dodgy practices going on here. They haven't even provided an invoice for additional money just some dodgy texts asking for more funds to be transferred with threats along the lines of; pay more money or we wont let the inspector come out, oh and if you pay right now we will discount you and you only have to pay this much.
*Still pleased with the job the installers did who were subcontractors to Adopt - Which we weren't aware of until the day of the install* Original Review: Recently had our 13kw solar and 28kw battery installation done by Adopt Solar. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process. Answered all of our queries promptly and provided additional information when required. David and Mark were our contacts throughout the whole process. Installers on the day worked tirelessly to get everything completed. They did a really neat job, couldn't fault the boys. Thank you to all the team at Adopt Solar.

Raymond from Adopt Solar was very helpful, friendly and gave the right advice for our home battery installation. His communication was excellent and he organised everything right from beginning till end in a very timely manner. Raymond’s quote was the cheapest that time. I purchased a solar battery and inverter package from Adopt Solar. While the initial process was smooth and they scheduled installation quickly, my experience deteriorated significantly after payment was made (which was required upfront). Communication became extremely difficult, and follow-up support has been disappointing. The installation… Read more
itself was completed in approximately two hours, and while the system appeared to function correctly, the quality of workmanship and attention to detail were well below expectations upon closer inspection. My concerns included: Missing safety measures: Bollards were not installed despite this being a garage installation. Missing contracted component: The Fox ESS Single Phase Smart Energy Meter (80A), listed as part of the agreed system, was not installed. Installation quality and safety issues: High-voltage cables from the inverter and battery lack appropriate mechanical protection and are draped over the battery mounting bracket. Cable routing is untidy and appears rushed. The inverter itself is not level. Poor mounting finish: The cement sheeting is damaged, poorly cut, and appears reused, with rough edges and visible marks. It also overhangs rather than being properly finished, which significantly detracts from the overall presentation. When I raised these issues with Adopt Solar, their response was dismissive. They claimed the smart meter was “optional” and not required in my case, despite it being listed in the contract. They also downplayed the physical damage and workmanship concerns as superficial and not impacting performance. I followed up to reiterate that my concerns were not about system performance, but about workmanship, safety, and professional standards. Proper cable management, mechanical protection, and care in finishing are basic expectations—not optional extras. I concluded by asking whether this reflects their standard of workmanship and whether they would be satisfied with such an installation in their own home. It has now been over a month since my last correspondence, and I have received no response. Overall, while the system may function, the poor installation quality and lack of after-sales support make it difficult to recommend Adopt Solar.

Sales and marketing contact at Adopt was excellent in explaining to me what the technologies of solar panels and batteries are. my vote to go ahead with the purchase of the system. I was pleasantly surprised by his installation team - who did their work professionally, making sure job was done before leaving my home, cleaning up debris and mindful that what they do aligns with the presentation of my house.

Had a new 6.6 Solar System and a 42kw Battery installed in Oct 2025. 2 day's to install completely. All good at the time, and Adam helped greatly in questions and advice. However, after 4 months of stating problems with Adopt Solar, nothing has been… Read more
done, just excuses from the company, and now will not answer the phone. Faults I have asked to be rectified: 1. 2nd Aircon was not re-connected to switchboard after installation. 2. Panels x 4 on carport, were installed flat, that no water can run off, which when dried, creates mud!!! 3. Solar panels not producing said 6.6kw, instead about 4kw in full sun. Obviously a fault somewhere!!! 4. I also have an existing 3kw solar system. Both solar systems seem to be connected to the app, but when Battery is 100%, only the new system goes to the grid and NOT the older system!!!!
So, after 4 months of calling, explaining, showing photos, zero has happened!!!!! I have had enough!!!!!!!! I will now be contacting the Ombudsman.
Follow-up · Still no reply from Adopt Solar. They won't answer calls, no replies to Texts. Top follow-up questions readers have asked about your review: Did the old system ever grid feed? My old solar system 3kw, is 15 years old and works great. Always grid fed. What caused the low output? Still don't know, as they haven't bothered to help. How was the flat install fixed? No. It is now in the hands of Consumer Affairs Victoria.

phones were always on silent. We called them hundreds times in different times of the day but they DID NOT call back. They replied by texts instead in the next hours or days. We emailed but they didn't reply. They texted and texted and that made us very frustrating.
Follow-up · They haven't done anything at all, they emailed me to ask why I wrote that bad feedback. I hven't had time to write to them but at the mean time, my friend who had recently solar panels installed by Adopt Solar had another issue with them like they installed the panels but forgot to email the Vic solar to get his system activated. In general, we all had some kind of bad experience with Adopt Solar.

We had our Fox ESS battery installed a month ago with Adopt Solar. Had great experience with Aaron and his team. Our 42kw Fox ESS battery has worked well without any issues since. Please do not engage AdoptSolar for solar & battery installations as they are extremely unprofessional, lack accountability, don’t execute on promises made and lack basic processes that organisations are expected to have. in engagement was significant (over 4 months); which I had to keep on following up on!!
During the period I engaged with multiple employees for AdoptSolar -David, John, Raymond, Aaron; all of who lacked accountability and never executed on promises made. They even did not follow up on basic expectations like keeping client updated on state of play. I had to do repeated calls, sms, emails to get answers to any of my questions.
Finally when the installation date was agreed and confirmed by AdoptSolar; for which I took a day off from work, the installation team did not turn up!
This information was not provided by AdoptSolar but by the installer; who is outsourced as AdoptSolar does not have this in-house capability. Rather than AdoptSolar following up for the rescheduling, it was left to me as a client to do their work; which is appalling!!
I managed to lock in the revised installation date and was promised a refund for the inconvenience caused, which had never been processed.
The AdoptSolar Team also forgot to include ‘blackout protection’ that I had requested; which I realised was a normal thing for them from the installers who had come on site for doing the install a week later, on 10-Feb-2026.
I was then promised that the inspection will happen within 2 weeks to get the installation certified; which turned out to be yet another false promise. After 5+ weeks of following up through emails, calls, sms the inspection finally happened on the 17-Mar-2026.
However, again as promised of at least a da if forward warning been provided, I was called in 30 min prior to the inspection by the inspector; which I had to scramble to accommodate. This is a continuous demonstration of the unprofessional manner in which AdoptSolar operates.
The inspector highlighted a few issues that need to be fixed prior to certification being granted; which is what I am chasing AdoptSolar for…At this stage there seems to be no end to my plight!!!
In a nutshell, AdoptSolar is a shoddy company with no basic processes in place (e.g. no complaint management process) , no accountability, blatant disregard to response to client queries grievances, no accountability and the list goes on…
I urge that you please refrain from engaging AdoptSolar for their services due to all the reasons that I have listed above!!
I am working to raise my issues with the regulators to ensure a repeat of this does not occur for anyone else!!

Major service failure: Multiple cancellations and refund withholding. I am writing this to share my experience with [Company Name] regarding a 13.3kW solar and 42kWh FoxESS battery system (Total value $10,100 paid to date). The Facts: Installation Failures: My installation was cancelled twice: first on 8 Dec 2025 and again on 26 Jan 2026. After… Read more
the first cancellation, I was informed the installer prioritised smaller, "battery-only" installs over my large-scale installation because they did not want to commit a full day to one site.
Equipment Abandonment: Despite the failed installs, approximately $25,000 worth of equipment (30x Trina panels, 42kWh FoxESS battery stack, and KH10 inverter) remains in my garage, occupying significant space.
Refund Issues: Due to these repeated failures, I exercised my right to terminate the contract under Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The company is currently withholding my $10,100, offering only a 50% refund now and the remaining 50% only after they have collected their goods.
Under the ACL, a major failure of service entitles the consumer to a full refund. I have refused the 50/50 split as it leaves me with zero leverage to recover my funds once their high-value equipment is removed.
Current Status: Matter escalated to Consumer Affairs Victoria and the Clean Energy Council. I will update this review if and when my $10,100 is returned in full and the equipment is removed from my property.
Update: I initially posted the review on 2nd February but was asked to take it down after they refunded me. However, they have still yet to pick up the equipment in a timely manner as promised. They promised removal either Sunday 8/2 or Monday 9/2 but failed to do so wasting my time as I had to stay home in wait. Still waiting for them to reschedule another pickup.
