ALDI Adventuridge 120 Lumen LED Headlamp Questions

I bought this headlamp from Aldi 2-3 years ago and it has never seemed to work properly. The light won't stay on when the button is released and the batteries will not sit flush in their compartments (they pop up slightly) so I suspect proper electrical contact is not being made. I have lost the manual and cannot yet find one online. Any suggestions please.

Lift the plastic tab on top next to the switch.

I have an Adventuridge compact torch lantern (Black) that compresses from a lantern to a round small palm-held torch. Type 1b48213 art Nr 48217 It takes 3 AA ( i assume) batteries. I dont know how to access to change the batteries?

hold onto the grey bit with the switch, then twist the black bit (handle end) anti clockwise
