Best dryer I have ever owned.
Treats our clothes with great care.
Takes a little while to sort out the settings / programmes.
Make sure you set the moisture sensor to MAX dryness (hints and tips in the manual) if you expect it to dry like a normal vented dryer.

Best dryer yet
We use a dryer every day in winter. As a result, we've experienced quite a few different brands of clothes dryer in our household. Our last Bosch dryer stopped working (electronics failure) after 3 years and the replacement cost was essentially the cost of a new dryer. But this time around we look for a better brand.
We've never had AEG appliances. We purchased the AEG 8kg 8000 Series Heat Pump Dryer (T8DHC862B) in combination with the 8000 Series 10kg Washing Machine (LF8C1612A). Installation was seamless and without fuss.
We regularly wash ...and dry synthetics, cottons, silks and woolens. So far, we've been very impressed with results. The dryer is very quiet. We haven't had any dramas with wool or silk items. It'll be interesting to see the electricity bill. I suspect we'll see a reduction because the dryer is super energy efficient.
The perfect partner to my washing machine
Years ago after having a really bad experience with another brand, I had purchased a matching pair of AEG products, a front loader washing machine and condenser dryer. As I closed in on my five year warranty expiration date the dryer died and off it went for a repair as they could not repair it in-house. Alas, the dryer was dead so without batting an eyelid AEG replaced it with this model. I was one of the first in the country to get this unit and whilst I was upset that it no longer “matched” my washer (they sit side by side and are a focal p...oint in my laundry), I so could not care anymore, it could be bright pink and I would still love it! I have never shrunk anything in this device, there are no small socks for little people that do not exist in this house, no knicker wedgies and no ankle floggers! It gets used constantly and it whirs away next to the washing machine as they churn out dry clean clothes simultaneously (yes I love my washer equally - I only wish she was bigger and I could stuff more in for each load). The high energy star rating means that I can use it whenever I want and as many times as I want without affecting my power bills. I do use my washing line in the warmer months but clothes just feel so soft and cuddly when they come out of the dryer so I prefer to use this. Pros: • cheap to run due to high 8 star energy rating • clothes are well taken care of, nothing has ever been shrunk • suitable for nearly every fabric (even silk or wool) • easy to use instruction manual • easy on the eye - looks good in the laundry

Hideous attempt at a dryer - Do not waste your money!
When I bought a new washer and dryer to complete my newly refurbished utility room, the saleswoman at Currys told me "you can't go wrong with AEG" and explained how good this dryer was. She hasn't got one herself of course! The dryer is absolutely pathetic. Your clothes will dry quicker in a room at ambient temperature.
Once you inform Currys or AEG that it simply does not dry, they will try and 'worm out' of any warranty agreements. I reported my dryer didn't work after a few days and eventually when an engineer turned up, after 7 weeks, h...e said "its fine because it's so energy efficient, you can leave it on all day and it won't use much power". But guess what, you could leave it on all day and it still wouldn't dry your clothes. Do yourself a favour and STEER WELL CLEAR OF THE AEG LAVATHERM 8000 SERIES!! Let's hope they take the heap of junk back. I will never make the mistake of buying AEG again, that's for sure.
