Poor quality . Broke down just out of warranty – Bought in 2018 - paid extra because it was promoted as "top of the line" European manufactured. Took a long time to dry clothes. Motor seized up in 2024 just out of warranty. Also bought AEG washing machine at same time which broke down in 2022 luckily still in warranty and they finally replaced it. Definitely would not recommend AEG. Show details

Faulty AVOID- given run around by AEG and their technician – 2019-Purchased after a lot of research and after reading obviously fake positive reviews on AEGs website. The salesperson at Harvey Norman could not speak highly enough of this machine. That is where all positivity regarding my expeience ended. December 2022-Following the instructions on the manual, I attenpted to dry a small load of towels, … Read more

the machine kept switching of after 10 mins giving me an error on the screen.

I call AEG, follow their instructions to mess around pressing this and that to diagnose the fault and then that a rechnician needed to attend.

November 2023-Technician attends and says dryer cannot be repaired, that he sees this fault all the time. Said to deal with him for the refund instead of going through AEG. To email him proof of purchase then he would facilitate are refund, which I did

March 2024-emailed technician again asking for an update- no response

July 2024- called - was told there was no record of a technician attending. When I advised that was incorrect they then confirmed they could see the attendance and put me on hold while they called and spoke to the tech.

Technician had advised AEG the dryer was working when he attended and that he could not find any fault.

I responded that this was not what the technician told me.

They said the technican would have to re attend, which I obviously declined. Aeg said this is not a regular dryer and that lighter items in a load may dry while lheavier irems need an additional cycle. Or that the dryer will remove some of the moisture on one cycle then need an additional cycle, Which is not relevant as all the load was towels, and the dryer keps stopping after only 10 mins giving an error code.

I said I was not happy with the dryer not working and then being misled by the technician and asked to speak to a manager

Was told no manager available and they dont speak to customers anyway. I said I had a 5 year warranty and the item did not work and I wanted a refund. I was told they dont do that after 2 years I pointed out the warranty was 5 years. they responded the tech report said ther was no fault so they coud not refund.

When I challenged that I was told to wait until they had spoken to a manager. to approve the refund which I cannot see occuring so I am preparing a complaint to the office of fair trading.

It seems from the other reviews I am not the only person having issues with this machine not being fit for the purpose intended (a clothes dryer that does not dry )

Ineffective dryer, inaccurate instructions, poor service – Purchased this expensive “top of the range” dryer ... it did not dry despite hours of running. Tried following instructions to increase the heat, made no difference. Contacted Electrolux, told we were not adjusting the settings correctly and sent written instructions. We followed the instructions to the letter - no better. We insisted on a… Read more

technician to visit, Electrolux said we will be charged $190 for a visit despite it being a brand new machine. Technician came, couldn’t get it working. Senior technician came. Couldn’t get it working. Finally Electrolux realise that they are giving the wrong instructions. Electrolux don’t know how to operate their own dryers. Meanwhile we have had no dryer for several weeks and have wasted hours waiting at home for their poorly trained technicians to turn up. Poor Machine, crap instruction book, I’ll-trainer technicians and service personnel and VERY unhappy ex-customers. Don’t bother with AEG or Electrolux.

This clothes dryer does not dry your clothes - seems like others are experiencing the same thing – I called AEG a week after owning it because the clothes weren't drying, similar theme here with the comments from what I can see.. I was thinking there was something that could be done to fix the issue of my new clothes dryer not drying my clothes. I reset some settings with the lady over the phone to supposedly dry it better to no avail. I mean… Read more

EVERY single time I put a load on I have to hang something back outside to dry because it is still too wet, mainly underwear and socks, today it was two towels that came out about 60% dry, I hung them back out too ...AEG support have told me now twice "that is the specs that is in the manual that you purchased on page ___, it is not a traditional dryer and you will never get your clothes 100% dry with this type of machine"... I have never spent so much on a dryer and will never purchase AEG again. Check out the rest of the reviews, looks like everyone is saying the same thing about it. The one 5 star review here (I am certain they must have a vested interest in AEG) mentioned there is not lint or condensation in their laundry anymore, who cares about condensation when you can't dry your clothes with your brand new dryer that you purchased! Ive also sent them a follow up email with no response..

AVOID ALL AEG! – Purchased in mid 2018 from Domayne Auburn after being heavily promoted by the staff as being one of the better ones, european made (in Poland) etc.. It has stopped working (march 2022) while still in warranty (happens to be the wettest few weeks of the year so no option but to use the dryer). Contacted AEG who said the next avail service was 8… Read more

days away. We have young children and do 1 to 2 loads daily, 8 days is ridiculous. AEG service is terrible. I tried to escalate to Domayne who said the AEG rep wouldn't even respond to them. I got every excuse available from AEG, terrible after market service once they have your money. Be very aware of this, Domayne do not enforce any SLA's on these types of suppliers, but are very happy to take your money and then push you to AEG for no service. Terrible experience!!! Avoid buying AEG generally.

Absolutely worst dryer we've ever owned and one of the more expensive – This dryer came highly recommended from Harvey Norman and we thought we'd stick to the same manufacturer because we have the washing machine. Biggest mistake ever made! It takes almost 1.5 hours to do 10 items of light clothing and can take up to 3+ hours for a load of towels. Absolutely ridiculous and completely impractical as it means you can… Read more

only really do 2 loads a day because of the time it takes.

Basically, clothes don't come out dry - they're always a little damp and when you try to put them back in the dryer it won't start because of the sensor.

Broke down after 2 weeks – Bought this dryer from Harvey Norman in February in Auckland but only started using it this month. This is the first time I bought AEG product, I usually buy Bosch appliances which I never had any issues with. After two weeks had to call in service technician due to poor drying results and machine making unusual noises. Turns out condenser is… Read more

faulty. AEG advised they don’t have this model in stock and I will need to wait 2-4 weeks for a replacement. That’s pretty poor customer service. I hope the replacement will perform better. I’m giving it 3 stars only because technician new what he was doing and was a nice guy.

By way of an update, called AEG this week to check on progress. I was advised by a rude lady that they will not be replacing my dryer after all and I need to sort out my own replacement with Harvey Norman. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of care and customer service. AEG clearly doesn’t give a damn about their customers. After AEG gave me the finger, I called Harvey Norman who were great. They delivered a replacement the next day. However, the replacement has exactly the same fault as my first unit! It’s clear the whole line of these dryers have a manufacturing flaw but AEG are pushing them nonetheless! Needless to say I had it with AEG and unfortunately will have to call the nice people from Harvey Norman again to get a different brand. Will never buy anything AEG again. Changing rating to zero.

Faulty design or production – I have had my dryer for nearly a year. I noticed that clothing was bunching up at the front of the dryer at the window leaving room at the back. This resulted in poor drying and wrinkles. I wrote email to AEG and called. Unfortunately they were dismissive and said that this was the design of the machine. That if someone came out, I would have to… Read more

pay for a service call. The explanation was that the sensors are in the front of the machine. My machine was level. However, I was able to improve the problem some by raising the front of the dryer in order to have the clothing distributed throughout the machine evenly. Obviously this is not optimal. The cost of the machine, the poor responsiveness by AEG/Electrolux, and having to raise the machine in order for it to work better are all negatives. I'm thinking this is a design flaw and results in complaints I have seen about this product in other reviews.

Reliable, absolutely brilliant! – For a family of 5, we absolutely rely on our AEG washing machine and Dryer, both 8000 series. We purchased the heat pump version of the dryer. After some initial problems with earlier models, the AEG service & support team provided excellent support and offered us an outstanding solution. We could not be happier with our washer and dryer combo, great wash and soft clothes every time.  Show details

My best friend this Winter! – This is my first ever dryer and its fabulous. It's an 8kg Heat Pump Dryer with AbsoluteCare System. It is easy to use, relatively quiet and does not generate dust around the laundry. It is new technology and has a 7 star energy rating. It has many different settings including wool, but I have only used two settings (Cotton and Mixed) to date and… Read more

the clothes have come out dry and soft every time. The towels come out amazing! The water drained from the dryer goes directly into the drain so there is no mess. It came with a tray that sits under the dryer (on top of the washing machine) that is handy to rest the basket whilst filling/emptying. It wasn't cheap, but I am very happy with it so far.
