I purchased an Aiper Seagull Pro Lite for $899.99 in January 2024. After approximately two and a half years, the unit developed a major fault. One propeller stopped operating and the cleaner now starts and stops several times before shutting down with a red warning light. I followed Aiper’s troubleshooting instructions, including checking and… Read more

cleaning the propeller and motor shaft, but the problem remained.

Unfortunately, the customer service experience has been extremely disappointing. During my dealings with Aiper’s voice support team, I understood that I would receive a one-time full replacement. Aiper later advised me in writing that this was not an official commitment and refused the replacement.

I escalated the matter and raised my rights under Australian Consumer Law. Aiper has continued to refuse my requested replacement and has directed me towards its out-of-warranty service. I have now lodged the matter with NSW Fair Trading.

For a robotic pool cleaner costing almost $900, I expected significantly better durability and after-sales support. I have spent considerable time troubleshooting the product, making calls, sending emails and escalating the matter.

Based on my experience, I would not purchase another Aiper product and cannot recommend their after-sales service.

I will update this review if Aiper resolves the matter satisfactorily.

3 repairs in 12 months on both my surfer S1 and scuba S1 pro. Now my surfer S1 will not charge again, and I'm told it only has a 12 month warranty. They are offering a discount to upgrade as the only option. I will be seeking legal advice. Do not touch them. They are not fit for purpose Show details

Very disappointing experience with Aiper customer service. I purchased an Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max and, after using it for a period of time, the machine failed. I returned it to Aiper for repair and was subsequently told by Aiper that the machine could not be repaired. I requested a full refund. Instead, Aiper repeatedly offered me a refurbished… Read more

replacement with an additional warranty. I have explained several times that I purchased a new machine and do not want a refurbished replacement.

The frustrating part is that Aiper continues to rely on its 30-day refund policy.

I have since checked Aiper’s own Australian Refund and Warranty Policy. Their website states that the policy is in addition to consumers’ non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law and specifically states that consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure. Their Australian policy also lists the Scuba X1 Pro Max with a 36-month warranty.

Despite this, Aiper’s customer service continues to tell me that because the machine was purchased more than 30 days ago, they will not provide a refund.

I’ve now had multiple rounds of emails with essentially the same response. My position has been clearly explained, but I don’t feel that the substance of my complaint has been properly addressed.

At this stage I have asked for the matter to be escalated to senior management and, if it cannot be resolved, I will be taking the matter to the appropriate Australian consumer authorities.

The product itself may be good when it works, but based on my experience, I would think very carefully before purchasing from Aiper. A faulty product is frustrating enough; the way a company handles the problem afterwards is just as important.

I will update this review if Aiper resolves the matter.

I have previously posted a detailed review for the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro pool cleaner. This review is for Aiper the company, who, after initially being quite fair and reasonable when dealing with product faults, have recently just scraped the bottom of the barrel to end up on my list of one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. Three months… Read more

ago, after this product history: a pool cleaner that stopped working after 6 months, got repaired and stopped working after 7 months, then got replaced with a new unit that stopped working after 3 months, Aiper offered me a full refund, but I just wanted a working pool cleaner, so ultimately we agreed on a compromise of a 'refurbished' upgraded model (the X1) as a replacement for the second new S1 Pro. The X1 has ended up being the worst performer of the lot, and has stopped working in less than 3 months.

I am finally ready to concede defeat and take the refund. Only the 'full refund' they practically begged me to take three months ago has morphed into a refund of 21%...which is gobsmacking. I am (again) reporting this company to Fair Trading and the ACCC - their products clearly have multiple inherent design flaws that render them not fit for purpose, and they are doing everything to shirk their obligations under Australian Consumer Law.

I've now revised my advice to: Stay away! Do not buy from Aiper. This path will only lead to disappointment. Do your research and buy a proper brand with an established track record.

Aiper's products don't last and you'll be without a cleaner for weeks at a time sending your faulty unit backwards and forwards for repair or replacement. The repair also won't last. Neither will the replacement. Their products are simply not fit for purpose. You'll struggle to obtain your basic consumer rights under both warranty or ACL. You have been warned.

Terrible product quality, poor customer service, no full refunds provided on major faults within warranty only over pro-rated amount for remaining warranty period. Would never buy again Show details

I just bought the Aiper Surfer S2 pool skimmer. The quality of construction looks very good. I haven't used it yet. But this review is about the Aiper App that is used by all the Aiper pool products. To be able to access more control functions over your Aiper product, you need to download the Aiper app. This requires setting up an account. After… Read more

this, the app then demands - yes, demands - that you turn on location services on the device that has the app installed. The reason given is so that it can check the weather. Seriously? If you don't, the app will not go any further in setup, and you can't use the app other than seeing your account and contacting support - which, through the app, is an AI Bot that confirmed location must be on. I phoned a support number and a real person told me that the app does require location services to be on to function. I wasn't happy. I explained that it is not right to exclude this information in brochures, advertising, and even the product user manual, and then spring it on customers after purchase during the app installation. This is mis-leading conduct. The pool skimmer doesn't need to know the weather. It could be argued that neither do the robot pool cleaners. But Aiper is firm on this. There is no way around having to use location services. However, they said the skimmer will work fine without the app. You just miss out on a few extra features. The only feature suggested for the skimmer was the ability to manually stear it towards dirt. Update: While writing this, I put the skimmer in my very clean pool just to make sure it was working. After an hour I took it out happy that it was working. There was a lot more fine dirt in the filter basket than I thought there would be. So it looks like it is going to do a much better job than the hand-held skimmer on a pole. Quite a surprise how much dirt after only an hour.

Bought a brand new AIPER Scuba SE from Amazon. Not used yet. Green light indicating full charge. Doesn’t turn on?!?! BUYER BEWARE. Will be organising return. Thanks for nothing! Turns out that Aiper sent me a brand new model, for free, just because I wrote the above review on Amazon. Not a replacement of this model, but a better one - Aiper… Read more

Scuba E1. Woo Hoo!

They then asked me to change this review to a positive one, because I got a favourable outcome - request denied as I didn't want to lie to customers.

The original order was placed in Dec 2024 - Warranty expired Dec 2025.

During this period, I hadn't opened the new box and left this sealed until my new pool was finished - Jan 26th, 2026.

Less than two months later, I'm now updating this review as the new one that they sent didn't last. Broke down after six weeks and when I politely emailed them asking for Warranty details, as nothing was included, they turned around and declined my request. BUT, they offered a $30 discount IF i bought a new model.

One could determine that buying a third model after two have pretty much been DOA's would be a terrible financial decision, yet that's what Aiper is offering.

Product does not work. Will stay in one corner going back and forth and will not climb walls. I sent Aiper videos of what the unit does and they admitted the unit was faulty. They gave me a return label for Australia post. But the unit is so heavy… Read more

that Australia post refuses to take it.

AIPER then said they would send someone to my house to collect the unit. Four days in a row we waited at home all day and nobody shows. Now they are trying to force me to go out and find a courier that will take the overweight product and ship it back to them. Putting more burden on me and more financial strain. This is a clear violation of Australian consumer laws.

They are still holding my money at ransom. All they say back to me is “ our company policy doesn’t allow us to refund you” they think their policy overrides Australian consumer laws.

They then tried to tell me to keep the hydro communicator at my expense. When I’m returning the robot, one is useless without the other. They failed to deliver promotional merchandise they promised with my order, didn’t tell me and then when I asked they just said they were out of stock. Even though it was on my invoice as part of my bundle.

They promised compensation but never actually offer any compensation just more burdens.

I highly recommend avoiding this brand. They break Australian consumer laws. Do not want to help and refuse to refund or return or collect their faulty products.

Follow-up  · Follow up on the AIPER X1 Pro Max, review. The defective product is still boxed up in my garage waiting for AIPER to collect the unit. It has been two months. They are unwilling to collect the product and they have still not given me a refund. They do not care about customers. I have contacted Fair Trading for assistance.
