Don’t even think about buying Aiper products or dealing with their for service and support area — it’s an absolute scam and total rip-off. Less than 15 months ago, I bought the Aiper Surfer S1 directly from Aiper for $610.00, and their after-sales support is beyond terrible — it’s downright negligent. My Surfer S1 will no longer charge as the… Read more
battery has died (as diagnosed by Aiper) just 3 months outside the 12 mth warranty after light use. All that Aiper offered me was an insulting $30 discount on their overhyped new Surfer S2 (which they’re now pushing with a two-year warranty). This is just an admission by Aiper that their original S1 is unreliable junk that they knew would not last a reasonable period. Save your money and stay far away from this company and their products.
Totally useless. In short - mine failed completely 6 weeks after purchase. I then complained to customer service. They told me (only after I escalated the matter) that I should wait for 3 more months for parts to arrive, then send it back, wait on the repair - and then they will send it back to me. When I pointed out that this was totally… Read more
unacceptable, they sent a "replacement" unit to use while I waited. It failed 3 weeks later. I have sent that one back too. So far - I am still waiting on what will happen next, still have a dead until that worked for 6 weeks only - and still waiting on a replacement - for the replacement. Never ever buy these units.
My Scuba S1 is 17 months old bought direct from Aiper online. Purchase was seamless and it does exactly what it says. Cleans the pool beautifully...our airbnb guest have left reviews about how clean our pool is. Battery seemed to be going strong, last use it still ran for hours. 6 days ago it wouldn't charge. I emailed Aiper who sent me a return… Read more
label to print (24 months warranty). Posted it through Aus Post (free) from our island home and already have an email with tracking number saying it has been fixed (corroded port) and is on it's way home. Great service, excellent communication.
So far so good. I've had it for 15 months now and use it every few days. We get a lot of leaves in the pool and this machine picks them all up along with dirt. I haven't seen any noticeable degradation of the battery yet. Show details
Follow-up · Still going well. It runs for about two and a half hours and adequately covers the entire floor of my 9 X 3.5m irregular shaped pool. It handles gum leaves, palm seeds and even long reed leaves. The filter is fine enough to sift out sand and mud. Easily cleaned with a hose.
Follow-up · Here is a photo after single use.
This pool robot lasted 12 months of a once weekly clean, then like other reviews, completely died. Won't charge/dead. I contacted the retailer (Clark Rubber Cannington) who told me at the time of the purchase that if it failed during warranty they would swap it over in-store for a new one. I went ahead based off the male person's word, thinking it… Read more
would be an easy process. But no - clark rubber now refuse to refund or replace as the retailer, saying it "has" to go for repair (despite me mentioning the ACCC which clearly states a consumer can request a refund or replacement for a major fail without having to go through the manufacturer). Repair is 4-6 weeks with postage, leaving me with no pool cleaner for 6 weeks!! I am lodging a complaint with the ACCC over this and will now fight until I have full refund for this robot, which seems to be failing around the year mark for many buyers. I would have been happy to just have it replaced in-store, but as this is being refused I am now going for full refund.
Doesn't clean the pool well. Misses sections and wheelies all the time. Not a well-made or good-value robot. Show details
The robot works really well. But after the first time, it is not climbing the pool wall upto the water line. The hook also is not tight and keeps slipping off the metal pole, tried widening the knobs but it keeps slipping off when trying to bring the pool cleaner to the surface. Show details
My pool is in the best condition since using this pool cleaner. Easy to use. Very quiet. The only negative is it doesn't collect very fine particles, sometimes leaving a trail of dust. The pump is working better without the extra strain of a cleaner. Highly recommend.
Follow-up · It doesn't go up the stairs which is mentioned in the product description. The fine particles are fine dust, I think, which are too small for the filter. They are decreasing with regular use. I clean as required, once to a few times per week.
Lasted barely 11 months of use. It often would not charge but after unplugging and plugging back in a few times it would finally charge. Now it doesn't charge at all. I'm waiting on Aiper and Clark Rubber to decide if they'll replace or not. Does not clean walls very well. Terrible for corners. Cleans floor well. Won't do steps but that's as advertised. Doesn't clean fine debris. Show details
Bought a Scuba S1 of Ebay after my mechanical pool cleaner of 7 years gave up the ghost. Had high hopes that this would be the pool cleaner that would scrub the pool floor clean as per the videos. Worked ok first time then every time afterwards the cleaner started to do wheelies. Messaged Aiper whom stated reset the cleaner after the next… Read more
cycle and make sure the outlet is clean which I did. Still doing wheelies and does not pick up a leaf bigger than a finger. Does not clear fine particles of the pool floor as such I have to revert back to a traditional vacuum head to clean the floor. In short this cleaner works great if the pool floor is already clean. Dont get sucked in by the fakebook hype do your research and check with your local shop....very dissappointed
I bought one from Clarke Rubber…fortunately. Worked twice then threw a 2002 error and wouldn’t start gain. Thought it had no filter basket. Nothing I tried would clear the error. Clarke sending it back for warranty claim. Certainly not a quality product. Show details
My super scuba s1 after 8 months use with no trouble died on me , wouldn’t charge lights flickering then just gave up I contacted Aiper they sent me return label 9 days after returning to Aiper I received scuba s1 back with motor replacement and back in the pool working great that is really good service from Aiper Show details
I would suggest avoiding this product as if you have a problem you cannot speak to anyone as all points of contact including the phone number are AI generated and only provide generic replies and unless you have every bit of information to complete their email form it is hopeless. Very disappointed, spent $1000 on a cleaner which is now useless. Show details

Works well for a while. Unit failed in under a year and have been waiting over a month for a repair to be organised. Avoid. Doesn't do a terrible job cleaning but has no smarts and often gets stuck on stairs. Show details
Do not buy! We have had one repair, one replacement and now it has stopped working. We purchased originally in September and it is now May. They will not refund, and refused to resolve issues. Sure it picks up the fine sand but when the machine has spent more time broken that useful it’s hard to comment something positive. Show details
Extremely heavy and difficult to remove from pool. Barely picks up anything from the pool floor. Show details
Purchased this unit amid the hype. For a short period it seemed okay. But in no time at all, I realized this was a bad decision. Leveraged further by the FU attitude of the company when asking for a full refund. Consistently faulty. Cleans the pool and then dumps all the collected debris back into the pool when cycle ends. This was first… Read more
identified as a faulty basket. And yet again this week. A new basket was sent out to replace the faulty basket. Hey presto it works again, but just a couple of weeks later broken again.
These products are clearly not up to task with such a basic component failing twice in such a short period. Especially considering that we only use it once a week at most.
Currently AIPA is trying to bargain a private deal for a percentage refund. Not at all in line with consumer laws in Australia. Be aware, be wise and don’t believe the social media Hype!!
AIPER Scuba S1 Robotic Pool Cleaner for Inground Pools, Cordless Pool Vacuum, 5 Star Product after 6 months of use - Great customer service, great delivery, and great product! Now I am not an expert pool guys or anything, but I have always had issues long term with pool cleans in my large fibreglass pool. Since I have got this cleaner, in my… Read more
opinion it has made not only cleaning the leaves and dust out of the bottom of the pool, but I think it make the whole filtration system and water quality better. No sure why this is, can only assume it's because you are removing all of that out of the filtration process.
I have one suggestion on how to make the product better, it would be the plug on the unit, having a base station with contact points would improve the product from a 99% to a 100%
Love it wouldn't be without it!
DO NOT BUY Aiper cleaner if your pool is salt water!!!! I purchased Aiper Scuba S1. But, when I put S1 in my pool, it worked for only 30 seconds. Then head of machine keeps tilting up. So, S1 lost track and didn't pick up anything. After fully charged, I put it again. But, there was same issue. S1 just wasted time under pool. I've contacted Aiper.… Read more
Aiper gave me some suggestions. Unfortunately, their suggestions are not useful. Aiper told me that S1 is not compatible with salt water. But, when I purchased it, Aiper never mentioned that their products are not compatible with salt water. They sold product without detailed explanation.
Fantastic product best value for money – Have waited around 6 months before reviewing to ensure reliability. Fantastic performance. Replaced a Davey ( rebranded Dolphin ) It climbs the walls with zero effort, both my previous Davey and Astralpool only did this early in the piece then simply never breached the sides. Both failed in around 5 years but frankly did a poor job anyway. The… Read more
pool is crystal clear but I did get the Surfer which I highly recommend and I believe is a long way toward how clean the pool now is. Was looking at the Scuba pro but for my needs I felt the S1 with the Surfer was a better option and they are fantastic. probably get the pro if you need finer filtration? or have a large pool. I did have issue with a failed propeller on Surfer but after due diligence trouble shooting they replaced without any protests at all. Pricing wise the combination of these two was less than a Matronic so very good buying, can't go wrong.
Beaut' little gadget works a treat – Terrific little gadget. I charge it in the cool of the evening, on paving under the eaves to ensure any fire risk from the lithium battery overheating is minimised.. and watch it intermittently through the window. Takes about an hour to charge. It cleans the floor, walls and stairs of my pool without issue. Works for approx 4-5 hours before… Read more
exhausting it's charge and is then scooped out with a hook on end of pool stick with ease. I then store it in a cool place, out of direct sunlight. Have had it about a month. Quite beautiful and entertaining to watch at work at night. I use it in conjunction with the Aiper Robotic Skimmer.. wake up in the morning to a lovely clean pool. Now where can I find a gadget that makes me a good coffee and brings it to the table.. ? :-)
Aiper Scuba S1 - Brilliant Pool Robot – We purchased this machine to replace a different brand (also purchased from Amazon) which arrived, was setup and dispatched to the pool and promptly died all within five minutes of it entering the water. We returned it (thanks to the dealer and Amazon) and after much deliberation settled on the Aiper Scuba S1 and pressed the order button. The… Read more
machine arrived earlier than expected and was packaged in such a way as to withstand a nuclear explosion, great job Aiper.
Ok, unboxed the robot and plugged it in to fully charge it, which took around 40 minutes to top up and display the solid blue charging light and after reading the operating manual, we carried it lovingly to the water's edge.
A two second press of the power button to turn it on and one more press to select floor mode and we placed it in the water with our fingers crossed after the experience of our previous robot having stopped working after less than five minutes in the pool.
The Scuba S1 settled to the bottom of the shallow end and sat there for a bit and then began to look about before settling into its cleaning routine.
Our pool is 9x5M and kind of kidney shaped with some additional indentations, so it's not the simple rectangle shape of many pools but that did not phase it one bit. I cannot believe the runtime of this machine, after a week it has just finished a floor only clean, and it ran for almost 3 3/4 quarters of an hour (I kid you not) with the average charge time from parked up on the wall to fully charged being less than 3 hours.
So, is it any good?
It's better than good, it's absolutely awesome, this is our fifth robot, and it beats the competition (to date anyway, hands down), its well-built, simple to use and has quite a striking appearance.
And as mentioned earlier, our pool is a bit of an odd shape but the Scuba S1 somehow manages to clean EVERY inch of it. I have spent hours watching it to identify the algorithm it uses but have now given up, I just walk away and come back later to find an absolutely spotless swimming pool.
We have used the floor mode, wall mode and the wall/floor mode and it just works a treat.
There is one caveat however, we have three steps and a seat about midway down the pool and it will not clean those places, but this fact is well documented, and I am more than happy to clean them myself.
Its early days but if the lifespan equates to build quality and performance, we expect to get around 20 years out of it. :-)
Anyone contemplating the purchase of a new pool cleaning robot would do well to consider the purchase of the Aiper Scuba S1.
UPDATE: It has now been 12 months since Loyd, our pool robot went into service and I am delighted to report that he looks as good as the first day he entered the water. Addionally, he charges and performs after one year as good as the day we got him. Our pool is surrounded by a number of large palms and gum trees that delight in dropping litter into the pool and as a result our pool robot very frequently operates EVERY day and sometimes with a two or three day gap but never longer then that, making the performance exceptional indeed.
Additionally, I have NOT had to clean the pool manually since the day he arrived making me very happy and impressed indeed.
Whatcha waiting for, order one now. :)

Aiper - poor Customer Service – "Purchased" on of these via FaceBook in early December ..price changed from $849 to $899 or $939. Charged $939, should have been $849 depending on which advertisement and which page on Aiper opened and what happened at checkout. Attempted to cancel the order but after emailing backwards /forwards to what appears an offshore Customer Service it was… Read more
dispatched anyway from an Australian address. Also noticed that in addition I was charged $42 for International CC fee (as advertised in Au$ but debited overseas) Eventually after raising a dispute on PayPal, about 4 weeks later eventually got my money back. The product may be good, but don't buy it from them ...maybe a pool shop. I ended up buying a Robot My Life PoolBot B150 Cordless Robot Pool Cleaner for $790 from an Australian supplier. Same functionality, good customer service. After my experience with Aiper I'm glad I never have to deal with them for an After Sales matter
Amazing Value, Simply Stupendous Technology – March 2026 - still going well. Love It!!! Purchased Oct 2024 after reading it topped Choice test reviews. work! Be sure to let the charging port dry out for a bit before charge. You'll never go back to a corded model. If you are fed up with cleaning and netting the tiny stuff, Aiper is for you. Tips: It weighs 7kg and prefers to be turned off before taken out of water. Wait or hook drag it to shallow end. Clean the basket after 10 mins if pool is very dirty, 30 mins for average clean. We absolutely love ours. Videos show wall and floor mode. This base model doesn't clean the top of water surface, but not needed for us. Enjoy.
Great robot cleaner – Best cleaner I have had over last 25 years! This cleaner moves around the pool seamlessly and picks up all dirt and leaves. Easy to use and recharge. Comes with a hook to get out of pool which works easily. Basket easy to empty. Cleans my mid size pool in less than an hour. Remove before swimming which is not a problem. We just love how easy and efficient this robot is. Show details
Aiper Scuba1 – It works really well. Does walls and steps. Easy to set up. Arrived quickly from pool and spa warehouse.
Super scuba s1 pool robot cleaner – Just received it and used twice, I don’t no why I didn’t get one sooner I have been cleaning pool manually for 20 years and this scuba s1 has done a great job, small kidney shaped fiberglass pool gets in all the corners only thing it doesn’t like is the 3 steps but I can live with that I highly recommend on first two uses. Terrible. Do not buy – Worked once and then died. Would not recommend at all. Show details
Dead only after 5 weeks – Dead only after 5 weeks and less than 10 time use for a 6x3m pool. We have contacted them for replacement as I guess they wont refund after one month. Dont buy it, you will regret it. Show details
Reasonable, cant do stairs – Day 1 of using it. I Initially used it for wall and floor cleaning. Its struggling to climb up the stairs. So i used a brush to help it out. Suprisingly no issues picking up floor debris though i left it out running for 3 hours to make sure debris on the floor is picked up. Will update this post in 3-6 months time. Lifting it out of water with the pole is a bit akward but switching modes is suprisingly easy despite being in water Show details
Does a great job – I’ve only had it for a few weeks, so who knows what the future holds, but so far, I have been very pleased with it. It has done a great job in my kidney-shaped inground pool, and I particularly like the fact that there are no cables.
Powerful, well functioning pool cleaning robot – The Aiper Scuba S1 Pro has been a game-changer for pool maintenance, and I couldn’t be more pleased with its performance. It’s a highly efficient robotic pool cleaner that combines innovation with ease of use, making pool cleaning less of a chore and more of a seamless experience. After a few uses, I am thoroughly impressed by its capabilities and… Read more
would recommend it to anyone looking to keep their pool pristine with minimal effort. For those who interested in unboxings here is the unboxing video for the product: https://youtu.be/anNITHzYqgA I was impressed how company managed to pack such bulky item with minimal unnecessary packaging that would potentially harm the environment. Back to the first impressions. One of the standout features of the Scuba S1 Pro is its powerful suction and advanced cleaning system. I was so impressed that I created a short video just to show that: https://youtu.be/YjBWJT46JaE . This cleaner effortlessly picks up dirt, debris, leaves, and even fine particles from both the floor and walls of the pool. The suction power is impressive for a robotic cleaner of its size, which speaks to its advanced design and efficiency. It also has a robust brush system that scrubs surfaces effectively, ensuring the pool’s surfaces are not only clean but also algae-free. This level of thoroughness is something I haven’t seen in many other robotic pool cleaners, and it’s clear that Aiper has put a lot of thought into ensuring a deep clean. Another advantage is the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro’s cordless design, which makes it highly convenient to use. Gone are the days of wrestling with tangled cords or worrying about cable length. The Scuba S1 Pro runs on a rechargeable battery, and it’s designed to work efficiently within a single charge. I was initially skeptical about its battery life, but it can clean my medium-sized pool on a full charge, with enough battery life left over for any touch-ups. The freedom to place it anywhere in the pool without restrictions adds to its overall user-friendly experience. The Scuba S1 Pro is incredibly easy to set up and operate. Unlike some other pool cleaners that require a complex installation process, this one is ready to go in a matter of minutes. Simply place it in the water, press a button, and let it get to work. It’s so simple to use that even if you’re not tech-savvy, you won’t have any issues getting it up and running. And when it’s done, the automatic docking feature brings it to the edge, making retrieval easy. Its lightweight design also means anyone can handle it, which I find convenient. Maintenance on this cleaner is minimal. The filter compartment is easy to access and clean, and I appreciate that the unit doesn’t require much maintenance to keep running at peak performance. The filter collects all types of debris without clogging, and I’ve noticed that I only need to clean it occasionally because it’s so efficient at capturing debris in one go. In my actual product review video that is attached at the bottom of this written review I also show neat mobile app to manage and update the robot. I was truly impressed how easy was to set up and manage the robot via the app. Overall, the Aiper Scuba S1 Pro is an impressive robotic pool cleaner that offers convenience, efficiency, and reliability. Its strong suction power, cordless design, and easy-to-use features make it a standout choice for anyone looking to simplify their pool maintenance routine. I’ve found it to be a great investment, and the time and energy I save on cleaning are well worth it.
