Cheap and nasty – I bought one of these in 2019 fir about $150. So I didn't expect too much. I've been using every few weeks on 60 sqm Nature strip as we have no other grass on our block. It us a weird mower with some sort of auto choke system which sometimes causes erratic idle and stall. It is hard to start when warm and floods easily. It us forever losing fuel.… Read more
But it is still running. $150 doesn't buy much but compared to my old Rover 4 stroke that was still running 25 years when I gave it away,it's not a very good mower.
worst mower i have had, wont buy another aldi mower – 1. had to get mower mechanic to take out spark plug 2 catcher collapses with little grass in it 3 now mower wouldnt turn off. worst mower i have ever had,oil is hard to put in too small hole Show details
Good tough little mower. Unfortunately bent the blade so if anyone has had to replace one, let me know from where!! – Have been using it on very rough ground and longer grass & seems to be coping well. How long for of course we don't know but pretty good so far. Will be keeping a check on what is mowed & how well over the next few months Show details · 2
great mower – purchased mower sept 2018 and today cord would not retract. Mechanic took top cover off today and found a plastic lug broken off which holds spring in place for cord. Where can I get a replacement cover Show details
when I lower it to the third lowest cutting level I can't push it – Really hard to push when set on third lowest cutting level in fact I find it very user unfriendly. If this problem could be rectified then I would be happy as other wise the mower performs well. Show details
lawn mower – brocken filter cover probably from the heat brocken grass collector clips that hold it not very durable brocken plastic holder for the collector not strong enough its a cheap line made for profit not durability or not to last long not looking after the client looking after there pockets. Disappointed – Easy to put together and starts easily for the price. It doesnt cut well and it's heavy to push. The catcher doesnt fill up completely and needs to be emptied regularly even though its not full. Very bad design. Show details
What a wonderful mower.Light and easy to use.Blades too far up in cowling . Blows lots of blue smoke on start up – I couldn't cut my lawn because the blade was to far up inside the body . Now that's sorted . What a mower. Nice to handle, easy to start and runs smooth. Show details
What was I thinking of! – At the beginning I used to buy quite a bit from Aldi. However, progressively I have been buying less and less because the quality of most things is simply terrible, even some lines of food. I bought from Aldi a Ferrex Lawn Mower in around $149 on 14 Octber 2019. The Model is DM46P-DO160, and the Product Code is 10852 10/2019. Engine: 161cc… Read more
and Weight: 26 Kg.
We managed to use it just 3 times on a lawn of around 150 sqm. On the fourth time we attempted to start it, it just simply refused to do it despite plenty of oil and fuel in the machine, and despite following all the strict recommendations to start it. (Because this mower is actually very special, and thus needs very strict guidelines for starting it !!!
Managed to take the spark plug out to check it, but nothing appeared unusual. I'll buy a replacement spark plug, probably tomorrow, and try to start it again with the new spark plug. By the way, every time we managed to start this mower was with great difficulty, and when it did it always threw lots of blue smoke at the beginning. For some silly reason we can't find the receipt, so probably we lost the $149.
NEVER! but NEVER again I will buy anything from Aldi. How can Aldi be allowed to operate here in Australia?
Excellent – Easy to start, cuts well, top catcher holder fills with clippings small amount of oil added every 2nd mow. Economy great on my couch and Qld carpet grass about 300 sq metres of flat lawn. Show details
good enough for the price – ive used this once so far. i live in a dry area so lawn isint very thick. its a bit gutless if you do have a thicker lawn. motor would die down a fair bit if I hit a thick patch. for $150 you can't complain too much. easy enough to maneuver. and done a good finish. didn't like starting while warm but started fine when it was cold. noise is fair. would recommend if you don't have a big lawn and don't want to pay much. Never found a mower that started so easily – Just purchased so long term usage I can't comment on but it immediately impressed me, unlike the previous 14 other mowers purchased in my lifetime when I could start it first time without the usual effort (and bad language). Thinking it was a fluke, I started it up a further 3 times until my wife told me I was obsessed ( and possibly senile to boot), Show details
The shroud cover along the mower is hitting the blade after its first mow – Burns through Oil like no tomorrow, the metal shroud is so thing it gets bent easily and it hitting the blade, lost the receipt so cant get it fixed under warranty. Show details

Poor Design and quality – Less than 7 months, self propeller stopped working and support says it's not a warranty item. The service cost is $ 64, not listed in the manual as a serviceable item. Machine was only used less than 2 operating hours ! Seems to be very unreliably and not cost effective. Machine is very heavy and hard to manoeuvre without the self propeller. … Read more
Grass catcher is not strong and tend to fall when fully filled, but it's large enough. Few times electric start did not work due to flooding. However it's cheap for the functions it has. I guess this is what to expect when there is no reputation for reliability and good built quality. Just gave it a try to support new product, but will never buy any gradenline products and disappointing with support staff where they don't have much interest to retain customers.
Please don't buy it – Please don't buy any electrical or mechanical stuff from Aldi if doesn't last more than a year, my lawn mower is faulty in 8 months time, when i reported to customer service they told me some one will call me but it never happened, please don't waste your money for Aldi products, pay bit more and buy quality stuffs it will last longer. Terrible – Many faults compared with Australian mowers but never seen what happened yesterday on any mower. I have been mowing 50 years.. This mower was found on the street, as the original purchaser threw it away after one use. yesterday mowing the verge ,left front wheel went into a small whole near the gutter. see photo of the result. Give this mower a miss – So far the motor works well and the electric start makes life easy, the blades cut well, the self drive operates well. but the catcher is terrible. The catcher keeps dropping off the back of the mower even with little or no grass in the catcher. Do yourself a favour and give this mower a miss. Show details
Broken belt Bill T – Self propelled drive belt broke as the tension spring came off. Awaiting a reply from Scheppach. Too hard to push without self propel only used twice on residential lawn. Looks like a common fault. No answer as yet probably all on Christmas holidays. Had a previous model for 8 years with no problems. Bll T Show details

The best mower I ever had. 4 stroke self start 196 cc, what a beast, just eats the highest grass eff – I don't use the catcher, just use side exit. I looked at the other reviews, and I can't understand some of the bad reviews. Time and again Aldi products were compared with other makes and Aldi comes out on top. I only paid $199 for this beauty an equivelant one costs $200 more. Show details
Good Value – So far so good with this mower. Extremely cheap to purchase compared to any of the usual big names. Only used it for a couple of months but starts easy every time and doesn't use a lot of fuel. Folds up easily to fit in the rear of my vehicle. Aldi constantly surprise me with their quality. Dirty to use – I’m very disappointed with this Aldi lawn mower! More grass goes through the catcher holes than in it and even when the catcher is empty it sends stuff all over you. The catcher is also a bit small. The mower goes well however is way too dirty for my liking. Show details
