Why did they change the formula?? – For years I've been using Alpha Keri oil after showers. The oil locked in moisture and helped my dry skin immensely. I also love that familiar subtle smell after showers, it was the best. I was very dismayed when I ran out and had to buy the new formula in the new packaging. It is just not the same, why mess with a winning formula!? The new… Read more

formula doesn't feel the same and it smells like plastic... boo! Bring back the original!

November 17th 2016 Update: Follow up review... the original is back!

I wrote a review recently about how as a loyal customer for many years I was upset to find out the original bath/shower oil had been changed... Well the original formula is back! Alpha Keri Supple Skin Shower & Body Oil - if you look for one with fragrance listed in the ingredients on the back - is just like the good old stuff. Kudos to Alpha Kerri for listening to their customers and reverting back to the good ol'original!!

Alpha Keri oil – I found bottles of it at Priceline clearance centre at Brandsmart, Nunawading. They have a 50% sale off the lowest price, so got it for $10.00 for the 1 litre bottle. Its the old packaging. Purple.

So glad I came across this product! And this brand!!! – I will admit I've only been using this product for about a week but already I feel like it is helping, I have had bulging varicose veins and just normal veins showing since I was 16 I am now 25, my legs get really itchy every day and I can't help but scratch until they bleed,l sometimes, most shop bought products do not help to keep my skin soft… Read more

which seems to help with the itching, products from the health foods shop also haven't helped moo goo, and the likes, anyway I was at a friends and she had this in the bathroom and suggested I try it. Wonderful it's so easy to apply in the shower either during or just once I turn the taps off. If I am worried about the slipping I then step out and do it. My skin is feeling soft and far less itchy I also have the odd flare up of dermatitis which I'll get after using a new product and so far nothing. Also using the cream wash in the shower yes it's blue I don't know why maybe it's settlement I will shake it next time but either way I don't mind and I am using the skin lotion for once I'm dry after the shower or bath. Notably the oil is so quick and convenient I have no excuse to forget it and the lotion I haven't missed it yet probably because I am actually seeing results

New Alpha Keri oil is not like the old one – It smells like mineral oil and not as good as the old one. I am hoping to get the old one again. Not the good product now. Hope to get the old stuff back.

Won't be showering with this before dates – Purchased the 1Litre bottle from Priceline. Just washed my hands with it. Skin feels nice and soft. Product seems to work except the ghastly smell! Label says 'Original Fragrance' and the manufacturer's aren't kidding. My hands now smell like cheap baby oil or baby power and I'm reminded of powdery old people smell. Phew! I mean really? Why in… Read more

the world with the variety of scents these days would you re-introduce an outdated sickening fragrance like this. Puts me off. I wouldn't want anyone near me getting a whiff of this, much less myself. Guess I'll have to keep hunting for another brand. You'll loose new customers with this scent Alpha Kerri! I'd prefer a lack of fragrance rather than this. Would have been better.

Makes sense that one reviewer complained about the bottle having no handle saying it was difficult to hold. This is true.

Hate new bottles – I have used lotion and body wash for about 29 years and loved it UNTIL someone had to revamp the bottles did anyone try them before releasing to the consumers the lotion I have broken the pump every time about half way through use the body wash you cannot pump unless you have your hand right under it Iam very disappointed and thinking about changing to another brand THINK before you change

Only product that has cured my itch – For years my doctor gave me all types of creams and tablets but the never worked. So I tried the following. Aveena shower wash on my sponge and then the same amount of Alpha Keri Oil. After a few days I could not believe the change. The itch has gone but I have to use it everyday or the itch will come back. So please if you have a supplier in… Read more

New one is not working with my skin – Hi, i have used the alpha keri oil for years for my dry skin thats rare and that i was born with. Its not like any dry skin, its like really dark shaped and irritating if i dont put cream especially in winter. When i use the alpha keri oil in bath i know it works getting rid of some of the dry skin on me. With the new one it doesn’t. I can tell… Read more

I cant get rid of my dry skin anymore.SAD. I will always now feel irrated that its gone. Alpha ker oil was one product that was my remedy. Why steal that away.:(

Great body moisturiser! – Alpha Keri Oil is a great moisturiser for dry, itchy skin, which is what I have. I have used it and Keri Lotion for many years. However, since the re-packaging a few years ago, I have been disappointed in both the inferior new package design and the fact that handles were dispensed with on the new model. Alpha Keri 1 litre bottle – I recently purchased the one litre bottle of oil. Apart from the disappointment re the lack of fragrance I find it impossible to hold the bottle without a handle. It is ok if you want to squirt it in to the bath, but not very shower friendly. Very frustrating. I certainly hope the old packaging is returned and the fragrance.

Disappointed.

What a shame!!! – A friend told me about the old product and I was planning on getting some as I struggle with very dry skin. After reading to reviews about the change in the product I am now not so sure I will bother. Many asked why the change ... I'm guessing is about money. Think one can almost guarantee that saving money is the driving force behind the change. Happy to be proven wrong!!!

Not happy with the change in oil blend – The new oil doesn't work for my skin (in the bath) like the previous blend did. I'm sooooo disappointed. Cannot buy the current version any more as it isn't strong enough to contribute to healing my severe dry skin and cannot locate the old version anywhere. I wish I had known a change was coming so I could have stocked up. I've been loyal to… Read more

Ridiculous new packaging – After I don't know how many years that I have been enjoying the feel, smell and ease of using the 1 litre oil I recently had no choice but to purchase the "New" packaged item. work. And then for the new colour lack of smell, did it really need to be changed? I would not think so by my experience of using it for years like so many others on this site claim. Like them too, I will need to find an alternative unless this is address. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Was perfect, now terrible – After over 20 years of using the Alpha Keri range, I am never buying it again unless I see an ad on t.v which tells me that it was all a big mistake and they've changed it back to the old recipe! What a terrible marketing team they must have. Change the products and make them all terrible, change the packaging so that it's unrecognisable. Really? Heeelllooo- just change it back. It's a no brainer.

Agree with Why Fix Something That Isn't Broken – Totally agree with the previous comment I won't be buying it again either. The smell that I liked so much has gone. I have also been buying it for years 15 but if they don't change it back then never again. Makes one wonder what else they changed about it. Very disappointed

Why fix something that was not broken? – I have been searching for the alpha keri oil that I have been using for the last 25 years and all I can find now on the shelf is some disgustingly bland smelling stuff. What were they thinking when they changed a great product for no apparent reason? I won't be buying it any more! Very disappointed.

Alpha Keri Oil Bath and Shower Oil – Have been using this product for 27 years. I was told recently when it wasn't on a shelf that it was discontinued. At a Chemist in the ACT. Then I went to Chemist Warehouse in Woden ACT and they had heaps on the shelf. It has new packaging that is all. But I need to say that it wasn't very smart of them because apparently I had walked past it in… Read more

three other Warehouses, thinking they didn't have it because the Chemist said it was discontinued. The packaging is dull and doesn't stand out like the other with the purple and white. Bad move for sales to change the packaging. Caused me a lot of running around thanks to the Chemist who said it was discontinued, which i thought was rubbish anyway because it is the best product ever.

Good – I was particularly pleased with the results of this product when using for my toddler who has a mild skin issue. Well known, Fantastic results – Alpha Keri Oil has been a favourite in our household for ages and the product has been around for years. It is a very well known brand. It is very easy to use. Excellent – This really is a miracle product. It helps clear up a new babies dry and flaking skin and is also great on kids and adults. I still use this throughout winter on myself and my four year old as it helps retain the moisture on your skin. It is not just an oil though. It actually lathers up to cleanse as well. Terrible – Due to its controversial ingredients, I found that this product literally burned my skin away (I used it on my hand and noticed it was red the next day). Excellent – I really like this product. My daughter has really senstive and itchy skin after she has been in the bath, and this works really well. Good – I am glad that this was given to me as a gift, as it is something I probably wouldn't have bought without trying first. Bad – Great product, won't dry out soft sensitive skin. Too slippery for our liking so we did cease to use it. Very gentle on baby's skin, a non drying moisturising formula that easily disburses in water. Great for baby bath. Recommended by the hospital for sensitive skin. Baby is slippery to hold in bath. We actually stopped using it as my husband was always fighting to grip our daughter properly.

Excellent – As we only have a shower I find that this oil soaks into your skin if you rub it in before you dry yourself. I use it on the kids throughout the year and find it fantastic for that winter itch the smell- reminds me of when I was a little girl! Soft and smooth on skin can make the bath / shower a little slippery

Good – this is a great product as i am usually not a fan of oil products. i'm still not 100% satisfied as the oil seems to cling to everything. great for sensitive skin and controls my itching. i was working in a nursing home awhile back and they used this there, i'm 23 so a bit of a turn off but obviously sensitive enough for fragile elderly skin and… Read more

Good – Alpha Keri Oil is scented but only lightly. I found it great to use when bathing my babies. But I would only use it in the bath not the shower as it can be a little bit slippery.
