Amazing Solar is the best in business. Right from the sales to the installation, a stress free journey for me. I have got 10kW unit installed from Amazing Solar. Peter has helped me choose the best suited solar panels and inverter for my house and usage. My house roof had a little bit of constraint of fitting all the required panels, but Peter made sure to design it efficiently. His impeccable experience speak thousands words. During the entire process, he made sure I am kept informed about Solar Vic rebates application outcome and all other steps required during the progression of the panel installation. The worst solar system ever
After some pretty hard sell tactics I decided to go ahead with the proposal. Was competitive and comparative to the other quotes. Differentiator was negligible. Deposit paid, waited for a date for installation… and then the problems started. Firstly it was to wait for the best tradesmen to be available a do then one whom is highly regarded for this type of system. OK, fair enough. A week or so extra is no big deal. So I waited. ... Read moret hit me was the fact that the agreed design and location was thrown out by the electrician. Didn’t want to install the panels as per design and wanted to move them. Then we had a long ‘debate’ on the shading and my roof access that would be important to me afterwards. Yes yes yes it was. The installation was obviously more problematic that imagined. It was a mess and unsafe. The guys doings the work were clearly not licensed electricians. Only one guy was. He did not supervise the work effectively as the defects were so bad. They damaged an internal wall and that has had to be repaired by a plasterer. That’s a whole story on its own. Just finished that this weekend. Thanks for nothing Amazing Solar. The site was a mess and damage was done. Had optimiser installed on every single panel - was due to the new location of the panels… not my fault. Were $100 each. The choice was pay up or or we leave and not install. On the spot proposition. I had Berber heard of an optimiser till then. Not on the quote or agreed signed proposal. Nice… they left late afternoon. The system didn’t work. Amazing Solar sent another electrician out a few weeks later to fix the defects (now keep in mind that some of these were/are serious safety issues). Was done in part. All he could do in the whole day he was here. Was still not sorted though. Amazing Solar informed. No appropriate action. They did have the cheek to ask for payment, then repeated demands for it. Was at the boarder of threatening. The electrical inspector came out last week. He was unhappy with the electrical work and was not prepared to accept it. Funnily enough, the same things that I’d been harping on about… outside electrical box not installed properly. Glued up to the wall with silicone. Screws missing, bents so it would never be water tight. Incorrect labels on the main distribution board, missed power circuit from backup supply… anyway, it’s turned on, he writes his report and leaves stating that they need to come back and fix the issues - safety related. It’s turned on at this point. Inverter and battery… the battery starts charging. No power from the panels… ok, weird but hey, it’s working, right? Well no. Half past midnight that evening all hell happens. Alarms go off, smoke detectors ring, lights fails and the house is in darkness. The system has failed and gone into some crazy state booting up, switching off. I evacuate the house - two smoke alarms are going off and won’t stop. Wife, two child children and a dog. Eventually I go back and start turning breakers off and on and off till it stops. I haven’t been shown how it works still. No handover or training. I’m just guessing here. We are all traumatised. I emailed Amazing Solar of course, now being messed around with more excuses of it being repaired and corrected. Problem is, they make commitments to attend and then they fail to show up or make excuses on the day, like today the day I’m writing this. It’s not generating any electricity form the panels. Nothing. The inverter isn’t functioning. The battery isn’t charging from the panels. The panels are facing south and tilted the wrong way. Half will be in permanent shade in mid winter. The electrical issues remain. The system isn’t as per design. Not as per signed contract and proposal. Have grave reservations that the system won’t even generate enough electricity to charge the 10kw battery every day. The back up doesn’t work. Massive shading issues cos of the new panel locations and it’s unsafe. It’s temporarily isolated. Had enough. Want a refund. Want to fast forward and have this pain over. Wish I never went with Amazing Solar. Rubbish. Need reporting to the relevant authorities and ombudsman.
Great service
Great pricing, open and transparent discussion regarding the whole process. Harry R was very helpful throughout. Installers were also friendly and kept me updated as they worked. Installations done now, waiting for inspection to go through and turn the system on. Highly recommended.
