Again, I applaud the taro flavour, (less so cookies and cream as the bits in it were challenging to drink) but both were ok when I baked them into scones and made into ninja creami ice cream. I have used the remainder of my powders in my protein ice cream which worked nicely. For openess, my favourite protein is CBUM Itholate cinnamon crunch cereal, for flavour and texture.

Overall, I’ve been very happy with the Amino Z team and their products. The consistency of the WPI protein powder is excellent — creamy without being overly foamy, and it blends extremely well with absolutely no gritty texture. In terms of flavour, the WPI Aussie Choc Malt has been a favourite for me so far. Even when simply blended with water and ice, it tastes amazing!

The Vanilla Malt flavour is also very well done. It isn’t overly artificial or excessively sweet (which is something many vanilla protein powders tend to get wrong). I’ve found it works really nicely stirred through cooked oats, and I imagine it would also be great for baking.

I’ve already placed my second order and would definitely continue ordering as needed. My overall experience has been very positive, and I’d say Amino Z’s WPI is the best protein powder I’ve tried so far.

Additionally, the customer service has been excellent. Email enquiries have received responses the same day — sometimes even within the same hour — and communication has felt genuine and personal. I’ve even seen engagement from the owner directly, which shows a real interest in customer feedback.

Overall, Amino Z is setting a very high standard, and I’m a very satisfied customer.

order and got three bags (unflavoured, iced coffee, brigadiero) to share with my partner, plus samples of coconut ice cream, melon milk, and matcha.

Overall, I’ve been really happy with the product and the whole buying experience. The site is easy to use, the customer experience has been great, and I really like how the business is run. If the powders hold up shelf-life wise (which I expect they will), I’ll definitely repurchase. I’d already grab full sizes of coconut ice cream and melon milk if I had space in my kitchen.

Some things I really liked:

The texture is excellent—smooth in shakes and even better in Greek yoghurt. It mixes well with just water too, which is rare.

It’s held up well in baking and savoury stuff so far. I added the unflavoured whey to a warm dip and was surprised how stable it was under heat.

My partner hasn’t had any GI issues (he’s been drinking the iced coffee one most mornings), and I love that the caffeine content is clearly listed.

The coconut ice cream flavour is genuinely delicious. I developed a coconut allergy in my teens but don’t always react to artificial coconut flavouring—this one was totally fine and fills a real gap for me. Please don’t ever add coconut milk powder!

The plain whey might be the best I’ve tried—really neutral flavour, great mouthfeel.

My partner, who doesn’t usually like coffee or protein powders, really likes the coffee flavour.

Some small things that could improve:

Some of the flavours feel a bit “hollow” in the middle—not unpleasant, just like they’re missing a bit of depth. The brigadiero especially has a great creamy base and condensed milk flavour, but the chocolate notes feel a bit artificial and don’t quite balance. It’s still enjoyable, just not my favourite.

I really like that you’ve used thaumatin as a sweetener—no weird aftertaste and it’s a much healthier option. That said, I’ve noticed that in a few flavours (like melon milk), the sweetness is a little high for the intensity of the flavour, which makes it feel weaker overall. I’ve been experimenting with adding a tiny bit of stevia to round things out, which helps a lot for me personally.
