have either properly set. A couple of times we only noticed the movment was not being monitored because the light didnt flash.

Lastly, the squelch (the amount of sound before it transmits) is not adjustable and set quite high. A few times bub has been wimpering and we've not know (and the unit is very close).

Finally, batteries. The listening unit eats batteries like nothing I've known. Bub was happy sleeping in the pram after a walk and so I put 4 new batteries in the listener/sender and popped it in the pram. I used it for an hour and then plugged it back in when we put her back in the bassinet. Next time we tried to use it in the pram the batteries were dead!

There is no doubt that this unit has saved babies lives with the sensor pads. However, that is where the praise ends. We cannot compare this against other products, like the Tommee Tippee, but a better product could so easily out-shine the AC301, even with simple differences like sliding switches that always work and an adjustable level of sound sensitivity. This may be the best there is, we dont know. picks up a range of sounds which are enough to wake mum numerous times throughout her precious little sleep. Our bedroom is on the other side of the house and we could still easily hear him when he cried. The movement alarm sounds after 20 seconds of no movement being detected. It did go off a couple of times and that was only because our son has wedged himself that far up the end of the bed that neither of the sensor pads could detect his breathing. It was reassuring to know it worked. Gives you the confidence to place your child in his or her own room from an early stage. baby's movement and breathing. Alarm is quite loud and prompt so it can be heard anywhere in the house - the parent monitor also beeps quite loudly. The nightlight is great for checking on baby - doesn't wake her up. Temperature display is helpful. The backup battery is also handy! Found it difficult to set up the right sensitivity level, 1st night the alarm would go off when baby took deep breaths. If the parent monitor is turned up loud then both monitors squeel even when they are a fair distance apart. Just be careful when changing the sheets, I accidently knocked the sensor pad whilst moving the mattress and wondered why the alarm kept going off. Instruction manual difficult to follow!

Saved my baby – I was given this by a friend (second hand) it still works amazingly as it alerted me when my baby stoped breathing due to a blocked nose. Fabulous – As an owner of the 201 I upgraded to the 301 after some issues. Angelcare replaced the 201!!! This monitor is fabulous. piece of mind – The sensor monitor was one of the best products I brought for my baby. I was very paranoid about sids and it made me feel better knowing that my baby was breathing while I was asleap and that I would be woke up by an alarm if she stopped. You can not put a price on peace of mind – Purchased one b4 the birth of 1st grandchild, in order to ensure baby was monitored at all times when out of sight in bed. As a concerned grandparent and Registered Nurse, I felt this product was a necessity. It has now been used for 3 grandchildren and has given the parents and grand parents peace of mind. and he is a year old. I got this new one after using the previous one as I was trying to get rid of the static I could hear constantly (with the old one, the sound is on constantly which is annoying). But I still hear it with this one even though its got so many channels that are meant to block it out. So I am a bit disappointed. However I will still continue to use this as there isn't another one like it and peace of mind is worth more than no static.

Good – Good quality room monitor, possibly more than is necessary in reality but I like having more than not enough peace of mind. Good sensitivity and range. Ability to use it with motion sensors. the low battery alarm had us barrelling into the babies room thinking the worst. Maybe just a single beep would suffice with the warning light.

My Guardian Angel – This one just works. Simple, safe and 'relatively" cheap. when there is no breath/movement after 20 seconds the alarm will sound like a smoke detector. The monitor also shows the temperature in the room which is beneficial in ensuring the room does not get too hot or cold for our baby. Good sound and video display, easy to use. Monitor loses signal as soon as we step outside our house. No good for listening to our baby while we are in the garden, which was one of our reason for buying a monitor.

this. We realised this when we accidently left it on with the ceiling fan on and it picked up the movement from the ceiling fan. So you need to adjust the sensitivity each time you use it depending on if there is a fan on, construction outside, a storm, etc. Overall great extremely useful product. too small...at 2 weeks old my baby was able to roll off of the pad which caused the alarm to go off and scared me half to death. I wasn't able to use the movement detector with her because it was just too easy for her to roll off of it.

works on it's frequency, which is great. The battery life on the portable parent unit is not very good. Admittedly we should turn it off once we take the baby from his room, but the reality is that you are then normally distracted with looking after what the baby needs that you forget to switch it off.

The other thing which was rather disconcerting was the shrill that the unit would make when the motion sensor option was being used and nothing was on the sensor. Like it needs some weight or movement for the sensor to work correctly. So if you lift the baby from the cot or bassinet to attend to him within 10 seconds this loud shrill starts. This is not only from the portable unit but the base which is in the nursery.

Lots of people ask me, "has the monitor gone off?", well it has a couple of times, but only when my child is sick and breathing very lightly. The temperature reading helps me control the perfect all year round room temperature too. You must remember to turn the monitor off before lifting the baby up, but you get use to that very quickly.

even with no baby! But once we got that sorted out, it has been great. We couldn't live without it now. The 2 pads cover more cot area. The battery on the parent unit last for hours and hours. The alarm sound is loud and obvious (unlike other brands). It ignores the musical mobile and regular baby sleeping noises, but picks up anything sudden or unusual. The volume can be adjusted on the parent unit. 3 channels, so I can use more than one monitor for more than one baby. The temperture takes about 30mins to be accurate. The initial figure is usually about 3 degrees too low.

with it's performance as a result. Great range, so I can take the parent unit outside with no interference issues whatsoever. Range indicator also, for peace of mind that it is working from afar.

Volume control for the parent unit has a good range. I adjust it according to where I am. Usually it's on the loud setting by day so I can hear it anywhere, and at night when I bring it to my bedroom, I put it on the lowest setting as that is more than loud enough for me to still wake if I need to attend to bub.

Can't comment on the motion sensor pads because i didn't end up using it. I bought this model specifically for that purpose too, but once bub came I decided I didn't need to bother with it as I felt confident enough with just the sound monitor function.

Temperature on unit in bubs room is excellent. I always use this a a guide for whether I need to adjust the room temp/clothing attire for baby's sleeps.Illuminates green day and night and acts as a nice night light that isn't too bright.

Also has a blue night light you can turn on (unit in bub room). It's perfect for seeing what you need to do(feeding/nappy changes)without waking your eyes too much if you know what I mean.

If you want to turn the volume off completely (which I do if baby starts to cry at night and I don't want husband to have to wake), up to 5 green lights will still flash depending on how loud baby's sounds escalate. I like this feature, it allows me to monitor quietly, if i need to attend to the baby.

I have music playing in bubs room at a reasonable volume and it doesn't interfere with the baby's sounds at all. The monitor is excellent at detecting the right noises in the room, aside from the occasional loud external noises such as a harley riding by. Batteries - takes so many I have given up using them on the baby's unit because the beep sound that goes on and on when they are going flat (whilst useful if you want to replace the batteries in time) isn't exactly what I want to go on and on if my baby is in there having a sleep. But I do use recharge aaa's on the parent unit, as it only takes 3 batteries and I do use it as a portable.

My bub also has a hospital issued sids monitor, and the angelcare monitor picks up the same lack of breathing (the hosp monitor attached to bubs belly) suprised at the sensitivity, easy to set up and night light a plus. BATTERIES, it eats them like a hungry monster. Helps to have rechargables!

you can continually hear noise through for example music in the nursery. This monitor picks up movement first and then noise and is fantastic. Temperature gauge and blue night like are also good features. I have had not chanel interferance at all with this model. Had one parent unit replaced, but since then its' 100%. I have tried 3 others before I was happy.
