Lasted for years – I bought this phone refurbished from EB games. I'm not the type to upgrade with each new phone that comes out, so this phone lasted me for about 3 years before I switched to an iphone 6S+ in late 2016. Even then I was able to hand the phone down to a family member, because it continued to run perfectly without any issues! Obviously there have been… Read more
improvements made to subsequent iphones, but if you're just looking to be able to make calls, send messages and have basic photos/social media capability, this phone would be perfectly fine!
Ok phone – The Iphone 5 is a great phone for all your needs but doesn't have a finger recognition or isn't a thinner design. This phone is still able to work properly but I find the battery is so bad and dies when it is one like 30%. Still great though, would recommend it. Show details
Phone for life – I wish I could have 70 backups. I think this is the best phone I've ever had and its extremely easy to navigate. It used to be my dad's phone but was handed down to me and it's still intact and easy to use. This is the best phone I've ever used!!! Show details
Still usable in 2017 – The iPhone 5 is still very much a usable phone. It can still get the latest apps as it runs iOS 10, and I believe that it will continue to do so for a few years to come. It will not get iOS 11, so those who are keen on device security should look elsewhere. The physical size of the device is great and it is unfortunate that not many phones are… Read more
still made this small and are still powerful (Sony Xperia Compact range and the iPhone SE are the exceptions). The cameras are still passable in quality.
The battery life is woeful and always has been. Even with a brand new battery it struggles to get a few hours of screen on time. The mobile phones of today can reach above six hours of screen on time for comparison. The LTE (4G) support is poor for those Australians using the Optus or Telstra network as it does not support band 28 which is required for maximum 4G coverage. This phone is therefore not recommended for those who use their phone a lot or who reside in rural areas.
Standard and reliable, good looking phone – I just wanted a small & light phone that would fit easily in my pocket & takes great photos & videos & also read emails & text messages - this phone meets all the criteria & I was not disappointed. I really like the rose gold color option. There are other newer versions available with enhanced festures but this is perfect for my basic user needs.… Read more
Screen is smaller compared to others in the market, but very easy to increase the font size & screen zoom.
Still one of the best models around – Got it old from another user, but still find this product of fantastic value, as it fits my hand perfectly (I'm one of the so-called one-hand users) and still have enough power to function for a full day. This is, according to my experience, one of the best choices for cheap smartphones right now (since it is not new) but still good enough for everyday use, if used moderately of course. Show details
Iphone 5S Review – I've really enjoyed having the iPhone 5s. Reliable and still running smoothly as we approach ios 11. After this I doubt I'll see any more updates and will be forced to upgrade to a newer iphone. Pleased with the value I got out of this phone though as previous ones have slowed down significantly with each update. Brilliant apps, clear display.… Read more
Very quiet audio though from built in speakers which is frustrating and not much battery life left by the end of the day of you are online frequently.
Best phone I've owned – Bought this phone second hand from cash converters in need of repair due to smashed screen. Replaced this and got the phone going again. Has been excellent , haven't owned an iPhone since 3GS as have had a few android phones since. Very easy to use, always quick to navigate the web, run apps etc. Battery life is a little average but that would be due to the phones age. Show details
Good one – I bought this phone for my mother and she is loving it. Obviously I bought it as it's the iPhone.. The touch, design and the quality of the phone is superb. I totally recommend this brand to everyone. It is a very reliable phone. The applications works so good in this phone. Show details
I love my phone – Simply works, all I need, why is it discontinues? I think they should start selling this amazing phone again. If they would then I will by a new phone when this one will stop working. New iphones are simply too big to fit my pockets this one is perfect for me. Show details

Love my phone – This was my first Apple product in a decade (used iMacs at work). As my first smart phone I looked at android and Apple and am very happy I went with Apple. Easy to use and intuitive, now it's time to upgrade to the next model, I'm hoping it will be just as easy to adapt. Show details

Welcome to the 21st century! – My 2G network went the way of the dinosaur and I had to update my phone. (I still have my old Nokia as a desk ornament) Thanks to Ozmobiles I now have a phone with Internet, texting, apps, icons, and lots of options like camera, fitness calculator and even an alarm clock. The iphone 5 that I have is already out of date, but who cares? It works,… Read more
it has a 14 month warranty and I got a Lifeproof case that cost more than my last phone!
If it breaks, I get it fixed. If it can't be fixed, I get a new one. Works for me!
Nothing more to add.
Apple iphone5? - choose another brand – I have just been researching how to fix my phone battery as it is running flat in less than an hour. It's not background apps as it reads 76% and then promptly shuts down. Apple will replace the battery f.o.c. as it is a known problem, but the catch is they won't try if the screen is cracked, so as mine is, I'd have to get the screen repaired… Read more
first --- $$$
Looking on eBay for a screen to do it myself I was astounded at the fact that 1000s - yep that's thousands - have been shown as purchased - remembering that not all sellers count how many they've sold and this also excludes all who take it to Apple to get repaired, I was amazed.
Coupled with this is the fact that the camera no longer works - again a known issue affecting many, many people and the battery fault, again affecting many people. It's not as though I got a one-off dud, the problem is widespread in population and multi-faceted in faults.
I would encourage anyone thinking about purchasing an Apple iphone -- seriously consider another brand - check the forums as there are consistent issues with iphones that go back years.
Good but has faults – Whilst I do like the iPhone 5, the battery life is shocking, I never get a full days use out of if, it normally needs recharging by mid afternoon and I don't tend to use it too much besides from listening to music. I don't like how you can't delete multiple pictures, you have to click on individual ones which is time consuming. I personally wouldn't recommend the 5!
Great iPhone – Great iPhone. Love that it supports 4G network. It is fast and the colour is fantastic. The camera takes a very clear colourful picture. Just annoying that it had a different charger connection from the iPhone 4. It holds a lot of apps and music which I love! I would recommend this phone to anyone wanting to upgrade and not spend a fortune on the new iPhone.
A Very nice smartphone!! – I used iPhone 5 32 GB for the past two years and the phone is awesome...updated it to iOS 9 and it works very well but sadly it got discontinued. The only reason I gave it a four stars is the battery problem as extended use of 3G made the phone lose battery quickly.
Great phone, great support – This has been the best phone I have owned. Yes it's no longer the latest model. Yes it is three years old. But yet it does everything I want it to, and apple stands by its products. 2 years into its life, they replaced the battery free of charge. 2.5 years later the lock button stopped working and they replaced the whole phone with a new one! You can't beat apple for service.

Wprst iphone Ive ever owned – Don't buy an Iphone 5C! Main issue is screen sensitivity to pocket dialling. Without me knowing it has deleted apps and changed passwords and called so many people. I have exhausted aIl avenues to try and fix this. I have owned an Iphone 2 and 4 previously and they were both awesome phones. I hope the Iphone 6 has addressed this issue.
Just scored a brand new phone cause of battery problems on the old one – I was always pretty happy with my new iphone 5 when i bought it (upgraded from the 4) but disappointed the battery never seemed to last the night if i t was using it while i was out. but recently i read about apple recalling the phones with a battery problem so i put in my imei no and they advised i qualified to get a brand new free iphone 5 - my… Read more

If you like PROBLEMS buy an IPHONE – Had a 2 year contract, had 3 iphones 5 so far on this plan, First one button didn't work properly, second and third had major screen issues , the third screen issues are random, so they won't exchange till it plays up at a random time, I BELIEVE THE REPLACEMENT PHONE I GOT WAS NOT NEW. it was somebody else's return because it has none stop problems since I got it.
