Apple iPhone 7 Plus (2016)

iPhone was better than 6 plus – this phone was the best phone i had so far. Went up to iOS 14, all apps work, and no crashes, but it did lag, but i still love it and have it, but it doesnt work now :(. but i liked it. Show details
My best ever phone – I bought this phone 6 years ago. I’m on my third battery. A really great phone for it’s time. I use this phone for everyday use. It’s never disappointed me. Great pictures, great everything. Plus it only cost $1400 at the time. Show details
It was alright in 2016, 2022 not so much – It’s been a great phone but over time it just keeps getting slower and slower, the amount of times to glitches is astronomical it very annoying! The camera quality it pretty good with zooming in and the brightness of the display is awesome (when it’s not dimmed because the phone is overheating!). It’s great for chatting with friend and FaceTimeing… Read more
with the medium sized screen, I have noticed when running ups you want to have all other apps closed so they are not running in the background as it crashes with small apps even with everything closed! All in all it’s an alright phone but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it, your much better of getting a newer phone that’s not 6 years old!

Good quality camera but phone can glitch sometimes – I have had the 7+ for a while now and the large screen size is really helpful and lessens the strain on my eyes. Initially, I was super happy with the phone, due to the large screen size as well as the good quality camera as well as the fact that the phone has portrait mode setting which makes a lot of my photos look really high quality. However… Read more
over time, I have noticed that the phone sometimes 'glitches' and freezes unexpectedly and I have to force shut it down. There are also several instances where the phone will freeze when I am typing with the keyboard and it won't disappear even when I press the lock button or go to another app or close the app completely. The phone is also 128gb which is basically as large as the size of my laptop and I really do appreciate this as I can download a lot of apps and keep a lot of photos on my phone instead of uploading it elsewhere. There are no problems with the brightness and it is fairly durable (as I have accidentally dropped it a couple of times albeit with a phone case). Usually, I use the phone for messaging, calling, taking photos, playing a few games and watching videos. Apps usually run fairly well but can shut down sometimes when I have been on a single game for a while.
The choice of pro photographers and travellers when convenience and quality is essential – when i read a review of the iPhone 7+ on a pro photography website, where the author stated that many of his peers and colleagues were leaving their heavy kit at home and carrying the 7+ instead due to this iPhone's ability to take, edit, store and transmit a very large amount of high quality photos that are above the publishing standard of ten… Read more
megapixels, (iPhone 7+ has 12 megapixels on main camera) i decided to buy one. theres some special reason why the two lens camera on the back of the 7+ gets such great portraiture and with its special chips inside it the camera can patch together some great panorama shots (i took mine to the blue mountains and have the best panoramas iv'e ever taken from there). The screen on this camera is of the highest quality, its more photoreal than any android oled screen and thats why it sucks more juice, its resolution is beyond the ability of our eyes to see the individual pixels. so when you take a photo with the iPhone seven plus you can be sure that basic editing on the phone will be accurate and to the quality level expected even by magazine publishers. thats the level this phone is at, its a pro's go-to, snap-snap, ready-at-all-times, standardised to the highest quality camera and communication device. i reccomend you buy the highest capacity, i bought half that and am not disappointed as that fulfils my needs and budget, plus i have the infrastructure to back my iPhone up regularly and keep the photos on an external drive, my phone is mostly filled with music apps. its not filled to capacity. neither is my ex girlfriend's 7+, which is good because she just left for a holiday in Nepal. I'm sure she remembered to pack a couple of spare USB batteries and the requisite cables. I like to have a really short lightning to USB cable to go from my battery to my phone and fit in my pocket without any tangles. I told my ex to buy the 128gb 7+ like me, but she bought the 256gb top-capacity 7+, she made the decision based on the fact that her 32gb iPhone 5s ran out of space and she was forever making room to take more photos. We both are artists of some kind and i have been a semi-pro photographer with all the gear in the past, my ex is a printmaker. we both use social media to post our photos and my ex uses special cameras and filters she gets from the app store, she edits her photos using apps and filters from the app store and then posts them up. I take photos and videos, i don't edit them, unless the form they are going into requires some tweaks or something, and sometimes i post to social media, other times i'm just glad to have a very accurate recording of the phenomena or object, and store it into my collection for others to see later on. i also use the iPhone to take sound recordings onto its many microphones, sometimes i just rip a sample straight into the iPhones tiny mics for my music, i can always use a lightning to usb adapter, also i found a particular "grey to black" adapter by RODE microphones which in turn fits into the headphone stereo with mic to lightning adapter on the 7+. this little adapter allows me to plug in my $200 sony minidisc stereo microphone or other stereo mics that come with the smaller jack for video cameras and the like. it then goes from stereo to mono i beleive, and mixes both channels too i think because i can't tell the two channels apart when preference-ing one mic side over the other, i doubt this is technically possible but it seems to be the way it works..
another benefit of having the iPhone 7+ is the button. Its not actually a button it just vibrates with haptic feedback when pressed, which means unlike previous iPhones, the button will not break and cost you heaps to get fixed. also, the button is still there! if you prefer using the button and having touchID fingerprint reading instead of three-dimensional infra-red photo ID then this phone would be a good choice, you might dislike having a glass back on your phone like the 8+, that can break, finally the iPhone 7+ meets high industry standards for water resistance/water proofing. so it should be a lot easier to ruggedise the iPhone 7+ than any other phone out there in my opinion, thats if you want the pro-photo quality and other features mentioned in this review like touch-ID, a photo-real retina screen, several high quality mics and access to what i reluctantly name as the best app store for photos and music, which is the Apple one.
That stupid audio jack! Whyyyyy! Same old iPhone – I finally gave in and decided to stop openly mocking the iPhones plus versions as being bricks and brought the 7+. I was lured in by seeing a collection of photos from a NFL game captured with the 7+ phone camera and no editing software. I was shocked at the vibrance and clarity and was looking forward to having those types of quality images… Read more
readily available in my mobile device.....
I’m still waiting.
The phone is large for a woman’s hand, it fits clumsily into two hands...don’t even consider using just one.
Bulks comically out of women’s jeans like a pick-pockets dream.
Same stupid issues all iPhones have which is software related. I have had this phone over a year already and due to my refusal to upgrade the system software to iOS 11, things were running smoothly. Lovely operating system, battery life only minimally compromised since new.....apart from ignoring the upgrade prompts on the regular...I was happy....until the dreaded night apple
Took it upon itself to upgrade me against my will! I woke up to an unfamiliar sight. My iPhone will never be the same. It is now plagued with the worst command centre set up ever seen....the battery life is a crap show. I’m not having to have my phone brightness waaaaayyyyy down!! It is beyond annoying squinting at my own phone! I cannot use any music apps, streaming apps, background refresh, location services for any prolonged period (2hours from 100-0)
As per apples instructions I should conserve battery life by disabling almost all of its features.
Or I could restore my phone to its previous version by logging into iTunes...I’m sorry what? I don’t have a PC in which I backup to iTunes. I use the cloud it’s 2018!
So no help there.
Oh no I’ve written wayyy to much and haven’t even got to the audio jack yet.
Meh it’s probably been said...useless

Perfect size screen still getting used to the layout of the operating system and features – Charge time is very quick compared to Samsung but battery dies quicker. Charged both iPhone and Sam A20 same time and used both with music Samsung played longer then iPhone Show details
Oldie but goldie – The product is still very effective even as of 2020. The camera quality is magnificent and the battery power is long lasting. I haven’t had any major issues using this phone. Show details
Durable phone – Bought iPhone 7s plus three years ago and still using it. Very durable and the camera still works great. Never had a problem in terms of speed and glitching. Took heaps of wedding photos and it looks taken like the high end digital cameras. Very happy with the phone

iOS forced update has left my iPhone with sound issues – Since the latest iPhone forced update I found the sound on my iPhone to be very low when receiving incoming calls. I’ve tried the tests and various troubleshooting to no avail. Show details
Not worth for money – Just stopped working 3 months after warranty and had to pay another $550 to get it replaced but comes with a refurbished one when replaced and not the brand new one. Show details
Was Okay at the time – Was pretty happy with this phone when we first purchased it and the camera was pretty good, however we definently noticed after multiple updates the phone slowed right down and the apps and games ran very slowly which was enough to make us want to jump over to android. Super happy with this performance – Had to buy this phone as an emergency replacement in 2016. Have been very happy with the screen Quality and app performance. Upgraded to the Plus from the standard and haven't looked back! – A few months ago, I upgraded my iPhone 7 to the 7 Plus, with 128GB storage. The differences in the photo quality are immense! I now enjoy taking photos with my phone and I am glad I have the extra storage. In comparison to my friend's iPhone XR, the camera and overall usability is very similar - I am glad I didn't fork out the extra to go to the… Read more
XS or XR. As with most Apple products, the build quality on the iPhone 7Plus us super-solid, however, I always recommend using a case and screen protector. And the battery is sufficient - I can get a good day's worth of solid usage out of one charge.
Happy husband – My husband loves apple. He would only use iPhones and when his iPhone 6+ started to slow down and battery to deteriorate I bought him an IPhone 7 Plus from eBay (as new). He is happy with it, as fast and massive memory Show details

Easy to navigate – Camera is good the only issue is making sure that the settings are right so that you don’t get a light in your photo. Photos come out with high quality. My mobile is used for emailing, playing music ( good quality sound) but could be louder. I have many apps and have no problems with them. My mother is in her 70s and is able to use her mobile with ease. Show details
Great device m- more than a phone – I find my Apple iPhone more than a phone, it is a web browser, camera, diary, GPS, torchlight, video camera, TV remote and it makes phone calls. We really need to move away from the term Mobile Phone and start calling these devices 'personal e-companions'. I receive more than adequate reception on the phone elements, brilliant images on the… Read more
camera (both still and video), reminders for appointments, wake up calls, Fitbit App tracker, torch for when its dark and I struggle seeing and I can watch almost any channel by streaming through iPhone to Appletv. Love my e-companion and wont be going anywhere without it...

perfect for a tablet replacement – Used to use Ipad mini until I have purchased this phone. It has great camera quality & I am very satisfied with the performance. I can’t fault this iPhone, I be lost without it – Both front and back camera take excellent quality photos day and night. I like that I can adjust the brightness on the screen. I use email, social media and internet. Show details
Simple , affordable yet better than most Androids – Most impressive was that on a multitude of different operators, the battery could last for at least 24 hours . This is with 2 emails running with push function turned on. The dual camera set up was great in daylight conditions and the portrait mode in these conditions worked great. Night photo shoots were good up a certain level of darkness.… Read more
After which the photos were too noisy and dark. It kept pictures fairly similar to the real situation.
The 7 plus is fairly weighty and feels solid in the hand. Therefore feels premium.
Perfect phone – I never have a days problem with my iPhone. Even after falling into a toilet it kept on working just to discover my friends fell into their Spa for longer than 30 Min and worked completely fine after that. I listen to music, audio books and take a lot of photos and videos without any problems. Show details
Awesome upgrade!! – Upgraded from iPhone 5S and couldn’t be happier. Love the large screen and ability to increase the text size. Also the perfect size for reading documents or books. picture options that are available to the user and fun and versatile, such as pano, live photos, portrait etc. The iPhone as always looks its best when not in a case and so i do keep my phone free from any cases and I have not reported issues with the durability of this particular handset so far. All pp's run quickly and smoothly and I have not noticed anything at all within the version of the software that i could say is bad, everything is running as you would expect from this brand.
Info on warranty – I just found out that Australian consumers are protected by consumer laws meaning Apple products are covered for 2 years (beyond the 1 year Apple warranty). Check out your rights with regards to digital products! Show details
