We installed an Apricus All-In-One Heat pump in July 2024 when we were replacing our gas hot water and heating systems to cater for solar power. speaking with my installer who suggested the Apricus all in one unit I was at first hesitant of installing this unit as it was near the ensuite window of the main bedroom but after researching the onboard electronics & the ability to program Start/Stop times to run the unit between 10am-5pm making best use of my Solar Power during the day this also coincides when during the week no one is home I am grateful I selected this unit. Not only is it the quietest Heatpump unit I have seen , it is very efficient when set up on the timer to run during the day only & I have not run out of Hot Water since installation. There is a Boost function should the owner ever need extra Hot Water during special occasions ie Xmas when extra family & friends are staying over. boiled down to the fact that you get what you pay for. Do you want a cheap one and get it fixed down the track or do you want a decent one that lasts? The Australian Apricus All-In-One Heat Pump was more expensive; however, it is an Australian product, it looks good and it works. We bought the unit which has an extra heating element for colder conditions, but we have never activated the element ever! The unit provides ample hot water even when we have guests staying over. It makes a bit of fan noise when it’s working, but correct placement of the unit nullifies any annoyance of this fan operating noise. Just don’t place it near and open house window and the problem is solved. Both my partner and I highly recommend the unit to you. Furthermore, we are proud that we bought Australian.

The Apricus Heat Pump has provided ample hot water every day since it was installed. As I am the sole occupant of this villa there is not a great deal of demand, but hot water is available for laundry, showering, dish washing and general cleaning. I am quite happy with the unit. Show details

and it shows current water temp and a whole range of other specs. Never had an issue with fluctuating water pressure, just loads of hot water 24/7. To date the running costs of the unit per day is $0.53 cents! Most of that was solar as well, so costs are virtually cents only per day. You can't complain about that.
Highly recommend this HWS if you are looking for a reliable, quality appliance. Warranty is 6 years on both parts and labour as well (provided you have the sacrificial anode checked/replaced at 3 years).

Apricus HP has significantly reduced our gas bill. Don’t think it meets 5-adult hw usage capacity as advertised, especially after continuous use. But for 3 adults & 1 toddler, who loves his baths, it is fine. Also, I like convenience of using the app.
Follow-up · Relocation process was smooth after getting in touch with installer. On the App I’ve adjusted the heat settings and monitored temperature. Didn’t notice any change in performance in winter.

Solar tube heating system has been running for about 10 years now and backs up hot water to our normal system. I have had to replace a control system, mainly because the tradey couldn't work out (failed to get on roof and check sensor that had fallen out>). Works without fault and probably has 2 discoloured (evacuated tubes) but no heat loss noticeable. Great when it works, but the timer function is broken – It works great however the timer functions are broken. I've tried setting timers and it will sometimes work for a day, but then it will just never turn back on once it turns off, leaving me with cold water. Kind of pointless when I wanted it specifically to go with my solar system. Wish I'd spent more and got a better system. Oh well... Show details

The units are versatile, able to be connected to WiFi, can hardwire or connect with plug into a GPO, warranty is huge for a heat pump of this cost and I know they actually fulfil that promise. I haven't had a single call back for any of the units I've installed!
Customer service is the best thing about these units. Even with the units being extremely easy to install, my local rep is more than happy to pick up the phone and walk through some things and even come to site to show what I might be missing. They never miss a phone call and for me, I am speaking to another experienced plumber that can answer some hard questions.
Over the last few decades I've installed countless different Heat pumps, some of the biggest brands and some more niche ones. Over that time you do get a grasp on the ones that will die within a year or stand the test of time. These units are ones that I will continue pushing to my customers on every job.
