Very happy with the EVO270. Quiet and easy to use.
We had a Thermann heat pump hot water water system for about 5 years. It continuously had problems almost from day 1. It needed service regularly, was loud, and often quit working completely. We had many cold showers during those 5 years. We almost gave up on heat pump hot water systems due to that experience.
We went ahead with the EVO270 because we want the energy efficiency. 4 weeks in and the EVO270 has been operating flawlessly. It is quiet and easy to use. I installed the Wifi unit and can see the water temp at the top and bottom of the

We have ran out of hot water once but only because child 1 filled the tub for a batch then pulled the plug before child 2 could get a bath. The unit heated back up quickly. The quiet fan on the EVP270 is a big plus for me. I like to sit in back of my house at nice and listen to the sounds of nature. The Thermann had a constant whirring sound that irritated me constantly. The EVO270 is quiet enough to enjoy nature and usually doesn't run at night anyway because of the timer I set on it.Purchased in at 42 Energy Street for $2,900.

Great so far - instantly lowered gas use!
Been really happy so far. Had been wanting to go for a heat pump for some time so had done my research. When our instantaneous gas heater broke down I had a new evo270 installed in under 48hrs. Delivering very hot water for a family of 4 in the Macedon Ranges (Vic). Enjoy programming features on the touch screen and via the app. Can’t hear it from the bedroom but a slight hum is audible through the wall of my WIR. Not too big of an issue because I have it set to only produce hot water when the solar panels are feeding excess electricity into the grid.

Very good hotwater solution
I have installed the heat pump and have been using it for just over a year. 3 adults in my household. There is adequate water for us most of the time if you do not use the timer for daytime-only heating. Either do not use the timer or have settings making ready for peak use times. The water temperature is good (I use 60C). I have WIFi controller installed. But it is not that useful as the settings do not work properly. I am hoping an App update of Hitemp app will make it better.
I had a few issues at the beginning related to date and time not setting which was sorted out quickly by Blacktown Hot Water who supplied and installed it.

Too Early to Tell
This review was requested only two days after installation so it's difficult to tell if it's going to live up to expectations. EvoHeat referred us to Speedy Hot Water to purchase and have the pump installed and that process was good although I would have preferred a written quotation.
The installation dates were really quick and we had to delay it for a week but the guys were knowledgeable and helpful. It took them under 3 hours to install and everything was left tidy*. It's going to take a while to get used to such a large item in our narrow

Read morelaundry garden but so far the water has been hot at any time we want it and it's also quicker delivering hot water to our bathroom where we used to waste a lot of water waiting for hot water to reach it. *My only grumble would be the amount of packaging which was left with us and much of it put incorrectly into our recycling bin. Please EvoHeat, find something other than polystyrene to pack the tank.Purchased in .

Evo270-1
I'm liking the new Evo270-1. Some minor teething issues with getting use to the cycle of heating (moved from a gas system), including using the App - main issue with the App is it lacks a clear guide to use, so glad i had an awesome installer. It heats the water perfectly and we have not run out of water for a family of four.
Purchased in for $4,580.

Good unit to replace dinosaur
Early days but the unit works well and was easy to install. Would recommed placing ~5m from bedrooms due to noise. The manufacturer offers an extended warranty for reviews.

Well designed, efficient and effective, let down mainly by the app
Disclosure: By writing this review, the manufacturer is giving me an extra one year of warranty on the tank, extending it to seven years total. However, there are no conditions on what I write, so here’s what I really think about the EvoHeat EVO270-1.
First of all, the unit is taller than I expected, with the compressor and fan mounted at the top of the unit. The footprint is much the same as the gas storage system it’s replacing, so the size is not a problem. However, I’m glad I did not choose the larger EVO315-C model.
It’s also louder than
... Read more I expected, because the installer promised me that it would be “whisper quiet” at 48dBA, and told me he has one installed next to his bedroom window with no problems. While my adjacent air conditioner modules are rated at 64dBA, they typically run at less than full speed/capacity with much lower noise, while the EVO270-1’s fan always runs at full speed while the compressor is running. But noise is not a deal breaker, since you can adjust the time of day the unit operates so that it doesn’t coincide with sleeping hours. And the noise level is not really that bad and is typical of other heat pump systems. The unit was installed in 4.5 hours, complete with a new electrical circuit. The water took only two hours to bring up to 60 degrees Celsius (during September in Queensland), using Eco Heating Mode, which uses only the heat pump and not the included electric heater – very impressive. At 4.2, the coefficient of performance (COP) is good, although it’s hard to compare COPs between manufacturers because of the different measurement conditions. The control panel is a beautiful white-on-black 9” touch screen, protected by a neat magnetic cover. The screen’s layout is attractively designed and intuitive, although it uses a lot of symbols, not all of which I can remember. The current temperature of the water at the top of the tank is displayed in large numerals, with the temperature of the water at the bottom of the tank is displayed in smaller numerals. Hot water comes from the top of the tank, so it’s more important to see that temperature. However, it’s great to have visibility of both of these numbers – a far cry from the gas system it replaced.Purchased in .

Great upgrade
Our 20yo hot water system died and Speedy Hot Water were able to install the new EVO270-1 hot water heat pump the same day, so excellent service from them. The hot water is coming through hotter and faster than the old system. We can set it to only operate during the day when it’s drawing energy from our solar panels so our electricity usage from the grid should be nil. This also means it’s completely quiet at night so can’t disturb sleep. The touchscreen display gives you control we didn’t have with the old system.

Questions & Answers
I've had our installer come out a couple times now to check/fix a leak from the inlet water pipe. There is always a small bit of water on the concrete and you can feel water sitting on the bottom getting ready to drip. Is this a fault or should I keep calling them back out to fix it? I believe they're tightening something but it's obviously not completely fixing it.
