Evo Heat 270 Heat Pump
Replaced old Gas hot water system in our house of 4 people. What a massive difference this has made. I would recommend this product and Speedy Hot Water from Helensvale (Matt, Rob and John) who were professional and did a great install in difficult conditions. I called in the morning and the system was installed later on the same day by a friendly and professional crew.
My old GAS hit water system would go hot/cold randomly if you switched on another tap while showering. This heat pump keeps the flow and temp constant.
The crew lead by Matt d...
Read moreid a very neat install and the end product looks great, very friendly and happy to go above and beyond for their customers. Pro's - efficient, constant hot water that can be programmed of when to work and when to switch off, great aesthetics but overall a great solution for hot water. Additionally, this will end up being cheaper than gas in the long run and the system will pay for itself easily. Con's - the compressor which powers the system is noisy/lour so don't have it installed by a bedroom, keep it by the bathroom and you'll be fine. Overall- this is an extremely efficient and cost effective hot water system. If you need a new solution in Brisbane or GC, get hold of John at Speedy Hot Water and they will sort you out within a couple of days.Purchased in February 2021 at Speedy Hot Water Services for $3,590.00.

So far so good
It's a bit early to be honest - but the unit seems to be built well, looks good and has performed well on first day. Love the ability to set the on/off time to coincide with solar power production and the various modes. Disappointed installers didn't insulate the pipes though

The evo270 ticks all the boxes
I had the evo270 installed by Speedy hot water today, it’s a great looking water heater and is super quiet. Speedy did a very neat installation. I have the evo270 set to run during day light hours only when the 6.6kw solar is doing it’s thing. I have no doubt that the Evo270 will reduce power costs as it is replacing a 3600w electric hot water system.

Hi tech got water
The Evo 270 is a welcome addition to my energy efficient home. Set up to run on my solar system it pull considerably less power than the old Rheem unit. It pretty quiet and heats the water remarkably quickly. The touch screen controls are easy to use, although you do need to glance at the manual or use the helpful you tube videos. The unit looks good and appears to be well made. It’s only just fitted so I will wait to comment on real world energy saving.

Should have bought it sooner!
5 times more efficient than my old system! Initially I was recommended another brand but after quite a lot of research I settled on the EvoHeat 270. I'm glad I did. I could not be happier with John and Mathew from Speedy Hot Water. Great service, great product.

Evo270 replacing Quantum 340L.
Making review for the additional warranty, but this review coming is from a registered builders perspective. Unboxed the Evo270 with my plumber, unit very well packaged, very good internal styrofoam support, plastic wrapped, taped and a desiccant bag placed inside. Unit installs very well, and once turned on when selected to Heat-pump and Hydro-boost only took just over an hour to heat the water from 23c incoming up to 55c. Units recovers well from the kids long and frequent showers, and is comparable in operating noise in comparison to a Quant...
Read moreum HWU, if not quieter. Outperforms a Quantum 340 litre unit in every way. Will be interesting to see how the plastic top cover holds up in the years to come from the sun and weather, likewise with the display unit. Very easy to use, and program. Purchased this unit on high recommendations from my 2 contract plumbers and Galvins Plumbing Supplies.Purchased in February 2021 at Galvins Plumbing Supplies for $2,779.00.

Unbeatable hot water system
While initially baulking at the price, I read a lot of reviews and did some research. I discovered that in comparison with a standard electric hot water system (taking into account the purchase cost and the cost of electricity over the life of each unit), this system works out to be half the price of a comparable electric hot water system. One hour after the installation by Speedy Hot Water Services, we were able to have a hot shower and that was by only running the system in economy mode. We set the system to operate between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Three people live in our household, we all had showers that night and next morning we still had plenty of hot water. There is no better hot water system than the Evo 270.

Great start
I have only just had this system installed yesterday. I couldn't believe how quickly it heated up once installed only took about 1 hour to get to right temp and able to take showers, after being without hot water for a week was soo good. We also had the old solar hot water system taken away by Matthew from Speedy Hot Water who installed and was great service and installed urgently for us because we had no hot water at all. Matthew said this system only uses about a quarter the power so we are really looking forward to seeing great savings and will also install solar pv as well soon, so no more wasting money!
Total cost for system installed $3790 + additional to take old solar hot water system away.

Seems solid so far 1 month in - noisier than expected
Writing this review now to engage two extra years warranty on the tank (goes from 5 to 7 years). Though there is very low risk of tanks rusting through before 10 years, this seems a token warranty and not a practical warranty, I am going for the 2 extra years anyway. Feeling this is an ingenue way to encourage reviews, because many people may be reviewing just for that reason without having much time with the product yet.
So far, it seems like a solid unit, but it’s been only one month.
Noisier than anticipated. Was told by the seller (p...
Read morearaphrasing here) that “people don’t complain about fridge noise or air conditioner condenser noise so why would they be concerned about heat pump noise - it’s virtually the same technology?” It is noticeably louder than air conditioning condensers, and much noisier than a fridge. That’s the reason for the four stars. Will update possibly once I have longer experience if anything comes up. I still feel heat pumps are probably the way to go for life cycle cost - just was surprised by the noise factor.Purchased in December 2020 for $3,150.00.

This is our great solar battery!
We had our EvoHeat270 installed nearly 3 months ago. It hasn't missed a beat. I have reassured my wife we will never again hear those horrible words "there's no hot water"!
Since having a solar PV system installed recently the heat pump produced hot water is an excellent way to store our solar energy. We have reset our EvoHeat270 to run only during daylight hours and moved the Sanitech function, that ensures bugs including Legionella are eliminated, from the factory setting of midnight to noon. Both were changes I made following instructions...

Great system and great for the environment.
My old Rheem system died after 18 years at the convenient time of 4:45 pm on a Thursday. I called a few places but got nowhere but on hold and invitations to pay service calls. I called Speedy Hot Water, Matthew was very helpful we talked through a few options as I didn’t want the same old power hungry system. I settled on an EVO Heat 270. It was installed the next day and we had hot water in 2 hours. Rob did a neat and tidy install, very conscientious and friendly. The Evo Heat 270 works a treat, we get plenty of hot water for six people,...

Great performance from the start
Replaced the gas storage heater with the Evo270 10 days ago. Less than three hours to remove the old heater and install and commission the Evo. Plenty of hot water within 2 hours of start up.
Now running on Eco mode timed to use afternoon solar electricity production. Very quiet and plenty of hot water.

Great water heater so far and makes up for the previous one in a big way.
As it was only just installed there haven’t been any issues with temperature fluctuations and it runs very quiet.
We haven’t had an opportunity to gauge high demand or extended usage as there are only two of us in the home.
