We had an EvoHeat EVO270-E hot water heater pump installed in March 2026 to replace our two instant gas hot water systems. We dealt with Ben from SunPak Hot Water on the Sunshine Coast. From the initial quotes, on-site inspection and subsequent advice Ben provided, through to the follow-up he did, we have been extremely happy with the product… Read more · 1

The EVO270-E was an excellent product for our requirements and coastal location. The addition of the WiFi option has been very useful and the installation was done in a very professional manner. We would strongly recommend putting EvoHeat as a must consider on your heat pump shortlist.
Great unit. Amazing hot shower 2 hours after install. Energy efficient and a great warranty as well. Show details
Wow! asked for info at 11pm Thursday night via online form, it was installed Friday 2pm, it is quiet and running smoothly, installation was in a very hard to get to spot but Speedy Hot Water did it with ease. The machine is impressive and made local so more ticks, quality looks above average. More than enough hot water for our grubby lot. Show details · 1
I had this unit installed in June 2022 and it has been performing flawlessly! It was the last gas appliance at the premise and costs savings have been great. 4 years in we have seen small surface rust appearing on the connection from rain/condensation but I hear this is to be expected as the metals are dissimilar which causes galvanic corrosion.… Read more · 1
This is wear and tear and connectors should be replaced every 5 years so will do that soon. Overall we are happy with the unit and recommend it.
My 10.5 year old Quantum heat pump died on Saturday afternoon. Matt and John from Speedy Hot Water arrived lunch time Sunday and our new EvoHeat pump was installed and good to go! LCD display panel gives you full control of the system. It will be another 30% more effecient than my old heat pump. Show details · 1
We are very happy with the performance of our newly installed Evoheat 270E Heat Pump which replaced a solar boosted gas unit here in Melbourne. Very happily surprised by its efficiency and performance. Our electricity consumption has not changed much since its installation and our gas consumption has significantly reduced. It is very quiet, much… Read more · 1
better than expected. There are 4 adults in our house with 2 having late night and/or very early showers, so it took a little bit of fine tuning with the on/off timer to ensure there was a full supply of hot water at all times. Super happy with our purchase & installation with Darebin Trade Services. Thanks to the Victorian & Federal Governments for the subsidies which made the whole process much more affordable
Fantastic heat pump with absolutely great plumbers who installed and looked after us. I stalled in one day with no fuss . Unit is very quiet and delivers heaps of hot water. Looks amazing too, so fits in. Show details · 1

Update April 2026 The installer visited and then said call the company. The company sent out a technician (no charge). He opened the cover to the auxiliary element and water poured out ..the reason the CB tripped. Amazing however the company told him to seal it up and leave site! If this tank gets to year 5 I will be amazed. Update March 2026… Read more
This unit was installed in August 2023 and in March 2026 - 2 1/2 years. Now an intermittent fault as developed where it trips the CB once the heating cycle starts. Initially the company said that as it is more than 2 years old they want $348 for 1 hour on site and $145 for each subsequent hour just to look at it. Subsequently they rang back and said in NSW and VIC the warranty is 5 years parts and labour. None the less I am going to have the installer check it over as it may not be the unit at all …perhaps the CB is going US. However there looks like there is a rusty leak coming from the Mg anode.
August 2025 When it was first installed I was impressed by the low noise level. Two years old now and whilst it’s working OK it’s noticeably louder. At times it sounds like an old air conditioner with an over worked compressor. We run it during the day so it’s less of a problem for the neighbours. Would not recommend the product for this reason only as it heats water to target temperature.

My 310L Electric Hot water System had started to show signs of age and had started consuming too much energy and the valves / tank were in need of replacement. I went to the Evoheat website and filled in the contact form. They replied same day and… Read more · 1
recommended their local installation partner - Speedy Hot water.
John from Speedy quoted me over the phone and the EvoHeat 270-E was installed the following day. The installation was superb. John from Speedy Hot water came slightly early and got to work with the replacement. He left everything perfect. I also added the Wi-Fi control until to configure via my phone and it is super easy to use. Not 100% necessary although makes the configuration setting easy to manage while not in front of the unit.
The unit looks good, is relatively quiet and so far has far exceeded my expectations. Water heating is fast and water temperature is very good. All 4 in my household had showers this morning with no issues. Have no problem recommending The EvoHeat Heat pump product and Speedy Hot water. Thank you again John.
Follow-up · My old system was slightly over 300L, new one is 270L. Has not skipped a beat. I've set it to heat during my solar generation. It's been great

Operates extremely well – We have had the unit for just on 6 months and it is working perfectly . The installation took about 6 hours with no problems and included the removal of an old roof top system. The hot water supplied has been continuous at temperature and the once weekly boost in temperature to protect against bacterial contamination has operated properly. Show details
Follow-up · We have had the unit just on 30 months and it has worked without any problems. The cost has been significantly lower than an ordinary HWS system as far as we can tell, we have it set so that it heats between 9am to 2pm each day to make sure it is operating in the warmer part of the day and we have adjusted the starting time for the weekly disinfecting cycle to start at 2pm for similar reasons ( the default is midnight ).
System initially good, just encountered our first problem – We installed this system in June 2022. I've waited for a while to review it to give me some time and experience with it. We were offered the system at a reasonable price and they through in a free wifi module with the order - although that wasn't… Read more
actually delivered. Through winter 2022 and 2023 the system worked very well, and the cost of running seemed low due to our solar installation. However, the system has stopped heating water effectively this winter (even though we haven't actually hit winter yet - it is getting very cold!). We've had mornings this week with very little hot water. Some mornings none. I've reprogrammed the times of the system and set it to the highest heat setting, to no avail. I've just called Evoheat to get the contact details of their nearest service technician, which they've happily supplied. I've called that number and left a message. Will report how this contact goes. Hopefully the problem is minor and can be easily sorted out.
Update - EvoHeat recommended service technician correctly diagnosed problem over the phone and arrived the following day to fix (he had the part in stock). Fixed in 10 mins. Part was a failed Pressure & Temperature valve, which normally lasts 5 years plus and is replaced in the 5 year service. Technician also was very reassuring, saying that he has the same system, as does his daughter, and it is very high quality and he happily recommends them. He deals with EvoHeat regularly and likes dealing with them.
Follow-up · System still going strong. The previous repair was performed under warranty, so no cost to us. The overflow valve has failed twice, but that is a generic part rather than specific to this model. Replacement is a 10 minute job and can be performed by any plumber (or you could do it yourself if you know how). The system is still performing very well and seems quite economical compared to the old traditional system.

Disappointing customer support experience and buggy, unfit for purpose wifi module – If you’re expecting the EVO270-E to function at all like the EVO270-1, you’d be dead wrong! Since the unit was installed back in November 2024, their service support is still under the impression that Intelligent Heating Mode heats water once bottom tank is 5 degrees below set temperature (just like the EVO270-1) but this is more like 10 degrees!… Read more
Support still to date hasn’t heard from the engineers about exactly how this replacement to the EV0270-1 unit in Victoria is meant to operate under all the different modes. As a result. It’s highly questionable just how efficient the new EVO270-E is compared with the EVO270-1, and I’ve had quite a few nights where the unit refused to heat up until bottom tank was 10 degrees below set temperature, and thus missed the optimal solar-aligned timer periods window for heating, resulting in less then sufficient hot water to last thru the night.
I was initially considering between the iStore270 and this unit and eventually paid much more for the EVO270-E thinking the ability to remotely set a lot of things remotely via the WiFi module would be so convenient, and then was greatly disappointed to find there were a great many bugs in the software, none of which had an eta for resolution, and I found myself having to set many things by physical going up to the unit’s front panel anyway!
The iStore probably costs around $1k less then the EVO270-E, and does more or less the same job, but unlike Evo, iStore were upfront about not having any plans to include a wifi module for their unit, rather then including one, then doing a less then half-baked job like Evo!

EVO270 Review – My solar hotwater system had its last breath on Sunday 15th Sept. Monday did my research about what's the best unit to put in. Number of my friends recommended Heatpump. Every research lead me to come to a conclusion that Evo Hot Water Heat Pump was the best one out there. Rang number of plumbers to get their opinion as well. After all that… Read more
decided on Evo270-1. The main reason to change from Solar Hot Water system was to save on my electricity bill which averages around $1200/Quarter.
On Monday sent my message through Hipages and got number of installers call back. Decided on Speedy Hot Water to buy and get it installed. Finally it was all done today. A very nice technician by name of Daniel turned up and installed it.
So its all up and running. The unit looks awesome and so far giving me quite the hotwater that i need. Sound wise its pretty good. Hear nothing while inside the house. The unit looks quite impressive.
Happy to give a feedback when I receive my next electricity bill but quite confident it will drastically reduce my electricity bill.

What a great experience so far! – I recently had the EvoHeat heat pump model Evo270-1 installed, replacing my old off-peak hot water system. My previous system would run out of hot water after 4-5 showers, which was quite inconvenient. I was looking for a solution that could provide hot water throughout the day without consuming excessive electricity, and the EvoHeat heat pump… Read more
seemed like the perfect choice.
After a little over a month of use, I am pleased to report that the Evo270-1 has exceeded my expectations. The compressor has operated for only 107 hours and the element for just 4 hours (for the hygiene cycle) over 39 days. This equates to less than 3 hours of operation per day, which is impressive. I am eagerly anticipating the positive impact this will have on my electricity bill.
One of the standout features of this heat pump is the WiFi controller, which I purchased additionally. It allows me to monitor the system's performance and usage in real-time. However, there is one area where the WiFi app could be improved. Currently, it does not allow users to input their cost per kWh to measure the electrical usage in terms of actual cost. This feature is available in many other WiFi-controllable appliances, and it would be a valuable addition to the EvoHeat app.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the EvoHeat heat pump model Evo270-1. It provides reliable hot water throughout the day, operates efficiently, and has the potential to significantly reduce my electricity costs. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their hot water system.

Can’t rate Matt from Speedy Hot Water high enough for his support and service in installing our Evo 270 hot water system, he went over and above to make sure what we had was correct, installed properly and assisted us with fixing some previous issues from the old owners of our new home! The service we received from Matt from Speedy Hot Water on a Sunday was second to none. He was able to discuss why we needed a new system, recommended one which would suit our needs, worked with us on fixing up prior issues and was friendly, knowledgeable and cleaned up after himself. Highly recommend. Excited to see the change in our hot water and power bills! Show details · 1

bonus as I can remotely turn it off and on. I have also set the timers to heat during the day off solar and again late at night. However the App needs some work and I'm still struggling to get the app to work properly. I have contacted Evoheat tech support and will update this later.
Follow-up · 16/8 Update: I’ve pretty much given up on the App. It can be used to tell you what the temperature of the water is, but that’s about it. The timer function doesn’t appear to work at all and the Vacation mode is also flawed. It doesn’t end vacation mode at the date requested and, even though you’ve effectively told it that you are not there,… Read more

Amazing highly recommend – ⭐️ I am updating my review as we have only had this hot water system since Christmas it has now stopped working and we have been trying to get it fixed for over three weeks but keep getting told that it’s a different problem. don’t have hot water…….
We couldn’t be happier with our Evo water heater! The quality is absolutely top-notch, and it’s been a total game-changer for our household. The water heats up quickly and consistently, which is perfect after a long day out in the surf. There’s nothing better than stepping into a hot shower that stays hot every single time.
Not only is the performance incredible, but we’re also saving so much money on energy costs! It’s clear that Evo has designed this system to be efficient without compromising on quality. The installation process was smooth, and the build feels solid and reliable.
If you’re looking for a water heater that combines amazing performance, energy efficiency, and durability, Evo is the way to go. Highly recommend it to anyone—it’s worth every cent! No it’s not.

EvoHeat EVO270 is terrible. Big mistake buying it! – Run a million miles from the EvoHeat EVO270 ! I had one installed by Speedy Hot Water on Gold Coast and it has completely failed within 3 years. Jezteck Plumbing were professional, competitive and patient whilst I researched the heat pump I needed. My bill has been reduced by 65% by moving from gas heating to a heat pump.
