We recently got solar panels and a battery but our hot water was gas (which we had exchanged for electricity ten years ago). So after a couple of months we decided to revert to electric hot water. I searched around and chose Dux for price and… Read more · 2
friendly and efficient customer service. The hot water system was installed extremely quickly after I confirmed at a very reasonable price, and has been working efficiently every day. Now we are ALL ELECTRIC!! And very happy. Thank you.
Follow-up · Everything continues to work exactly as expected. Savings are accruing. We’re very happy.
Not long after buying my home , the hot water system needed replacing , that new system was brilliant without issues for 15 + years. It was still working efficiently, however was leaking from the bottom and I simply decided to replace with a new one... easy choice. Same size, make and model - it was a Dux Show details · 1
Had our 20 year old leaking 250l Dux hot water system replaced with a 160l Dux. Job completed by Joshua and Charlie from Installed Today. Nice neat job. Saved over $500 from other quotes provided. Show details · 1

After getting 3 quotes for a new storage hot water tank we found dux to be a competitive price with a trusted brand name that has been around for donkeys years. The installer came at the time he agreed, did a neat and tidy job using shiny new copper pipes and took away the old unit. Price charged on the day was the same as the phone quote. happy with the hole process. We now have lovely consistent hot water for a family of five who all shower in the evening.
250 water heater has been installed replacing the old dux solar hot water system. Show details · 1
First rate hot water service replacement – We replaced a 315l Dux that had served us well over many years. We have chosen a 250l size as it suited fewer current household members, but with enough capacity for occasional visitors. We are impressed that this is an Australian quality product. It has been energy efficient, especially with solar panels. Installation was excellent. Show details · 1
Awesome Hot Water System – An excellent hot water system. I love it. So far it has been extremely reliable, supporting multiple showers at once with a consistent temperature and no reduction in pressure. It is super quiet and does not need a flu through the roof like gas hot water systems. It was purchased and installed through bunnings who were extremely professional in working out the size I required and the installation. Show reply

I bought 400L HWS supply & install from Bunnings. Then they requested installation variation, total cost was $2,300. It was installed on 25/8/2022. On 18/6/2025, it failed! When I phoned Dux, they said it either the element or the thermostat, which… Read more
would cost $330 or $365 respectively. The warranty is 12 month only on electric parts! : ( The old system lasted almost 25 years without problems. I only wanted to upsize. Dux is a lemon. Never again. I do not recommend. ------------ UPDATE 22/7/2025: The Dux Team responded to my review, requesting my details etc., which I provided immediately. More than 4 weeks later and I have not heard from them again! Tells a lot about their customer service! : ( Reading other reviews, it seems their typical approach: https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/f9a0c87c-b8c4-5968-a4f1-828324cf8072 I stand by my review. Dux is a lemon. Never again. I do not recommend.
Follow-up · The system failed again after the reported repair : ( This time was the thermostat! I was up for another repair bill of $165! : ( - Reason for the upgrade was to get bigger capacity. - I was forced to accept the cost increase as I couldn't wait longer to shop around again. - I trusted recommendation from Bunnings' team member. Overall experience: I DO NOT recommend Dux. Never again. STAY WELL AWAY!

Hot water system works fine but got messed around with install leading to over a week without hot water – Bought the 250L HWS as well as installation from bunnings on a Friday. I was told because i had no hot water at the time, Dux will call me Monday and will either install on the Monday or possibly Tuesday. Monday afternoon I get a missed call from bunnings saying to call them back which I tried but wasn't able to be put through to the special… Read more · 3
orders people so went in to be told there was a problem with my online installation form (that they filled in on their computer while I was there) and the delivery adress of the HWS was changed to Bunnings instead of my place so needed to fill in the form again. This happened again on the Tuesday and Wednesday. I called back on the thursday and was put through to a guy who was on break, he eventually called me back and I again filled the form in with him over the phone. He submits it and tells me it automatically changed to be delivered to them again but assured me he will work it out. Late thursday i get a call from dux and the install planned for the friday Before my install I was asked to text photos of the old system and the piping which I did. I was then told I had to pay an additional fee ontop of the install fee for some other part which I paid. So I ended up going without hot water for just over a week. The installers were very nice and had the old system installed in under an hour. One of my other problems was that we are a family of 5 and my old system was a 315L and we quite often ran out of hot water with that size and I was wanting to replace it with the same size but due to South Aussie law, it's illegal to sell anything over 250L to home residents and the larger ones can only be sold to Businesses so I was forced to downsize. You would think that if i already have a 315L it would be allowable to replace it with one of the same size. The heater seems to work fine but the water is unbelievably hot and I can't see a temperature dial on the system to lower it like my old wheel had.
Good system, but installation was an adventure I wouldn’t recommend – We decided to go with the “easy" option of Bunnings organising the installation via Dux and their plumber (it’s a complex interactive process). Well, it should be noted that replacing a Dux Airoheat with a new Proflo electric system is problematic. First of all, a tempering valve was needed and this wasn’t included on the initial quote - a bit of… Read more · 1
confusion with the installer over this, but all sorted in the end. But that was not the end of the dramas - I was under the impression that the quote would cover the supply and installation of a Dux Proflo that actually worked - umm, no. Apparently the circuit breaker switch for the Airoheat (16w) isn’t compatible with the Proflo (20w). The circuit breaker switch kept tripping, so no hot water. Had to get in an electrician to replace the circuit breaker switch on the power board for an extra $205. No, the Bunnings/Dux installer isn’t qualified to touch a power box and circuit breakers, just the electrics on the Proflo itself. I would have thought that purchase and installation cost paid to Bunnings would have guaranteed a system that works. Now that we have a working hot water system, yes the Proflo provides a plentiful supply of really hot water.
Poor Quality Dux Product 2AP solar hot water – Our hot water dux 2AP panels failed, paid over $3000 to have them replaced, shortly after the tank downstairs failed which I did expect this eventually being 10 years old. Due to the costs of replacing the tank I decided to have the *NEW panels I spent over $3000 on removed by professionals and was putting a standard dux hot water tank in no… Read more
longer using these panels.. these panels were less than 6 months old
They were rotting already the zinc / gal backing was corroding out. I called dux and they said it's cosmetic and they will NOT cover it under warranty.
I then made a negative product review so DUX contacted me saying they will look into it, wasted plenty of my time and they gave me this conclusion. The damage to your panels maybe from a build up if leaves..... Now They didn't even inspect them in person let alone see we have a two storey house with trees pushed back away from the very high roofline, we don't get any build up of leaves at all..
Thanks alot dux I now have 2 very expensive useless panels I can't even sell second hand which should still be in NEW condition, you should have sent out a rep to look at the panels rather than write us off with a poor excuse. We won't be recommending your products to anyone with this kind of support.

Horrid system – Got a dux installed just a few years ago it broke was covered by warranty but they are rude, and difficult to deal with, they also sent an plumber gas fitter out who installed a new tank but I've had nothing but trouble waiting up to five minutes to get hot water and when it does come through is incredibly difficult to adjust a problem we never… Read more

Great hot water tank – I am very satisfied with my purchase of the Dux hot water tank through Bunnings. I have continuous and consistent hot water for my whole family without it running out and I have had no problems with it. Unfortunately the installation did not go so smoothly with my cabinet damaged in the process of moving the unit into the space underneath the house. Show details · 1

Very happy with the Dux product – I purchased a Dux 315T1 to replace an existing electric hot water system which was over 20 years old. This was ordered and supplied through Bunnings who also arranged the installation. The whole process was very efficient and well done. Quick and easy – It works! I used Bunnings to supply and install the Hotwater. It is really simple and easy. You don’t need to get quotes or anything- a phone call took care of it. Thank you. Show reply
Very satisfied – This 80 litre dux proflo was installed by the previous home owner in 2023 and I admit when we moved in I thought it looked a bit small for our needs, especially when the family visits us here in Dowerin. However, after our first year here, I'm pleased to say we've never run out of hot water even when the grandies enjoy a lengthy shower. Great product which I'm pleased to highly recommend. Short life hot water heater – Our Dux SGL 125T136H hot water system was replaced on 13/Jan/2023 and it is or was supposed to be a HWS for hard water as the H at the end denotes a Hard Water anode is installed from the factory. heating element had totally Self Destructed and was virtually eaten away after only only 17 months. This minute period of element operation makes this heater extremely expensive to run apart from the power to run it. The DUX team was very quick to respond to and rectify this problem in a manner that was pleasant and acceptable. Good to deal with a responsible company. Thank you.
