This is not a dryer I could recommend. Like its washing machine sibling, it is incredibly loud. And it is very very slow. Expect a full load of towels to take about 3.5 hours to dry. Ok, admittedly that's the trade-off for a very efficient heat-pump dryer, but the noise is unbearable. We purchased the dryer in 2022 and initially it was a bit… Read more
loud, but tolerable. We adapted to the slow-drying cycle and regularly cleaned the filters as instructed. But now it rattles and cranks along like an old tractor. Given our experience with the call to Asko's service on the washing machine, we've decided to do nothing and just tolerate the aural abuse until the darn things wears out. Ok, we should have purchased a good old fashioned Electrolux or Fisher & Paykel tumble dryer without the heat pump, which would have delivered much quicker results, and certainly much quieter. We have a household of eight and have had to ban the dryer being used after 9pm because it's so loud and uncomfortable. It was meant to be a premium product, but our experience suggests otherwise. I don't usually write negative reviews, but in this instance the manufacturer for this appliance has tortured us long enough!
Died from electrical fault – Worked until 2 years and 1 month. Loud zap and burning smell from behind the display screen. Tripped out the breaker. Not very impressed. Show details
Do Not Buy – This is the first Asko appliance I have purchased and will not be doing so again. When the dryer works it is fine, however, so far whilst under warranty it has broken twice. When the product breaks it takes about two weeks to get a service and you are expected to block out an entire day, only to be advised of a two hour window the night before.… Read more
For my most recent fault, I blocked out the first day (after a two week wait) only to be told that it required a part (a belt) that was not in stock. A week and half later I was told that the part had arrived and to block another entire day, only to be told the night before that the part had actually not arrived. So, thus far I have not had a working dryer for approximately 3.5 weeks, have blocked out two entire working days and still have not ETA on the part. I will now need to block out another entire day which is going to be basically impossible. There is not a complaints or feedback page on their website and last time I called the customer care number they refused to put me through to anyone else or provide any better solution.

ARE U ASK OR ASKO?ASKO delivered another refurbished unit!!!! – The letters on the washer T208H started to disappeared with the letter C with just a finger wipe down off dust and gradually all letters started to disappearing. I'am very surprised by the poor quality of the washer's prints on the labelling that it is not embossed on, is these faulty prints on the dispenser or the design of ASKO that the prints… Read more
are meant to be coming off with a single finger wipe? such a joke! It is very unpleasant that such an expensive washer with letters missing on the labelling that we haven't even done our first load of washing. ASKO or ASK? Ask yourself !!!
If I could give it 0 stars I would horrible dryer – Takes over three hours to dry a basic load usually needs to be reset for another cycle due to the clothes usually being wet still after the first cycle of three hours. Lint pick up is a complete joke compared to a $400 Simpson dryer lol what a joke completely annoyed do not buy Asko.
Don't buy ASKO – So not even 2 years into a $1500 purchase - the asko heat pump dryer I bought started spitting metal through my clothes -- After sitting on hold (45th in the queue) i lodged a warranty claim this was on the 1st of March - I tried to call ASKO as was provided with NO update whatsoever guess what 45th in the queue ok I wasnt sitting on hold again -… Read more
I called the serviceman who told me it would be at least another month...Here I am today 28/4 with again NO contact from ASKO and a dryer that doesnt work --- Not only are their products crap but their customer service or lack of is by far more disappointing..If your thinking of buying a heat pump dryer all I can compare is this one and its crap like the rest of the reviews it takes a year to dry the clothes -- DONT DO IT UTTER RUBBISH
Washing still wet after 3 hours drying time – I have used this dryer five times without achieving a single dry item - two sheets were still wet after 3 hours drying time. Evidently the condenser was broken (probably from time of purchase). The technician said that heat pump technology is economical on electricity but cycles take a long time. If, like me, you have a dryer for the odd occasion when you need to dry something in a reasonable timeframe, heat pump technology may not be for you. Show details
3.5 hours for damp clothes – It takes forever to dry our clothes. Even the longest setting has the clothes still damp a lot of the time. We added these balls to the dryer, which helps now. But it just doesn’t do the job very well.
Dries great and does the job as advertised! – I agonised over this purchase after days and days of research...I heard good things about the Asko brand but wasn't looking at purchasing an Asko washer/dryer combo until they had a special offer that took $800 off the sale price. Anyway, there are so many mixed reports about heat pump dryers on the web that I felt compelled to post my… Read more
experience which is mainly positive. I have had my heat pump dryer for two weeks now, have done about 10 loads, including sheets, towels and bedding. I was concerned about reports that a heat pump wouldn't dry the above mentioned items but in my experience this has not been the case at all. In fact, it has been the exact opposite and not only have they come up nice and dry, they are also cleaner, softer, have less creasing and do not shrink due to the way the clothes dry by condensing. This Asko heat pump has the reverse cycle dry feature which changes spin direction every so often which may help but I have also not added this feature and sheets and towels have dried fine.
The feature setting on the dryer is useful without being confusing, the dryer is super easy to use and I have found that clothes definitely dryer better than a regular dryer without the water condensation you would normally get. The energy efficiency is so much better than a regular dryer and from my calculations I will achieve payback (of increased cost of heat pump dryer in under two years).
There is some maintance you will have to do after each load which includes two main things - emptying water from condenser and removing lint from the collector on the door. Both jobs take about 10 seconds each and are super easy. You also get reminded to do these before your next load on the screen in case you ever forget. Yes, you would prefer not to do these jobs but for me it was either do this and have a energy effecient heat pump dryer or take the clothes out on the line and spend time hanging them up and taking them down. I know which one is faster, easier and less hassle!
Lots of reports of heat pump dryers not working they way they intend to but from my experience I have not had these problems at all. I have yet to bring out a load of washing that is not dry despite and have jammed it full of clothes. Not sure what other people are doing differently or if different brands really perform that differently but I can vouch for the heat pump dryer I purchased and highly recommend.
