Stay away from ASKO. I bought this high capacity dryer on advice from Bing Lee as a good reliable brand that would speed up the drying time in my holiday home for cleaning turnovers but the reality is my $299 simpson at home it’s actually a much better dry. The ASKO is incredibly slow and balls up all sheets without file. It is a fundamentally… Read more
flawed product and then trying to get resolution from ASKO it was like talking to a brick wall. My advice would be to look at an alternative brand
Do not buy this dryer! – Bought the dryer in late 2017 by early 2020 the dryer was having serious issues draining and shutting down all the time. Asko do not respond to calls or emails. The one time that an approved service technician came around they quoted 1800 + to attempt a repair and told us to buy a new dryer as it wasn't worth trying to fix. At $3000 I would expect a premium product that lasts, this dryer did not. Show details
Leaking cupboard wreaker – Large dryer that cost $2500. Bought with Asko pro series washing machine. Built in to cupboards to match in brand new house. Installed once we moved in and used daily. Good for a while and now leaks water out the bottom of dryer . All filters clean, pipes hooked up and all everything as it should be according to manual. Every load all the water… Read more
ends up running out bottom of cupboard as dryer won’t pump out water into drain as it’s supposed to. Cupboards all wreaked not to mention the damage it has done internally to my washing machine which sits below it.
Now out of cupboard sitting on floor in laundry. Again all filters clean and everything as it should be. Now it just gives Overflow error signal. Now it won’t work at all.
Seriously not happy.
Unbelievable! – Installed this morning and ONE load put in machine. The machine stopped because the water tray was full and has not gone since it was emptied. You have to hold the power button in to get machine to run. Maybe I am missing something that is not in the instructions? Show details
What a rip off! – You would expect a 10kg dryer that is worth $2299 to do the job more quickly and with a larger load. Well that was my expectations! To dry a load of 6 towels takes over 2.5 hours!! Average drying time for any load is between 2.5 hours and 4 hours. I researched this product online and nowhere was there anything saying that it takes this long! … Read more
Which means when I come home on the weekend I now cannot get 5 loads of washing dry ready for the next week..
I rang Asko who said "of course, it is a heat pump dryer". I did understand that, but nowhere did it say how long each load took. So the first I knew about it was when I opened the instruction manual. I have asked to return this product but they will not do this without me paying 20% of the total cost. The people I bought it from have also asked the rep from Asko to ring me, twice. I have not heard a thing.
Asko T884XL 10KG clothes dryer rolls sheets into a tight ball and doesn't dry them – More than one sheet at a time does not get dried by this dryer. They get twisted together into a tight ball (really, a cylinder) and only the outside layer dries. This was the case from day one, nearly two months ago. Two service calls and a return of the dryer to Asko have all found "nothing wrong". Show details
For $3000, I got ripped off – I bought this $3000 / 10kg dryer 12 mths ago. I continue to have a door latch problem. The door pops open, then the machine stops during it,s cycle. This problem may happen every 2nd load or once a week. We have to stand at the machine holding the door, upto 20 minutes until the door latches. We had asko service out 4 times in the first 6 mths… Read more
but all they did was to fiddle with the old latch. Since christmas my wife and I have prevailed with this machine until tonight were I stood holding the door for 40 minutes, until the door latch did catch. I understand why people buy cheap machines as they seam to have as many problems as a $3000 machine. Regards neil
