Above average engineering & quality – I bought a A4 B5 1.8T auto wagon for my wife 2nd hand & in the 10 years ownership(70,000k) parts wear out it's a fact ,having owned Aus,Jap & now German built cars all have issues, but it's well made & has been reliable & never "broken down". It is serviced & smaller repair's done by me as required so the cost is minimal ,but get a mechanic involved with any vehicle that = $$$$.Plastics & leather are good quality, has comfortable seating & cruises v/well on the open road. If you have limited mechanical experience my advice is get an inspection done it's worth the money as a good service history or low k's are only part & not the whole story, some owners have no "mechanical empathy" the vehicle could have been thrashed from cold day 1 .As some unwary buyers have obviously found out "Caveat emptor" with any second hand purchase.

Extremely reliable car – I bought my Audi A4 1.8T 2005 with 115,000 on the clock and it has been the best purchase I have ever made. I have not had a single problem with it except for minor and general maintenance. The car now has 265,000 on the clock and it still runs extremely well. I know the car will be able to make it to 300,000+ k's if I keep servicing it regularly. For this reason, when it comes time to buy a new car, I will buy another Audi.

Very reliable car – I have recently purchased 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro manual transmission and it is a very reliable, powerful and comfortable car. Been driving it for a while now and never had problems, besides the rear door is not working. Mechanically the car is doing good, didn't have major problems from the previous owner. I bought the car with 170,000km on odometer and EuroClass did a major service to it and many things were replaced, like timing belt, cv joints and so on but it is completely normal for this things to get replaced at this age.

I strongly recommend getting an Audi Quattro the handling is unbelievable plus the power on top of it. I strongly suggest to stay away from multitronic transmissions as everyday someone having problems with them.

Hope this helps. Power, Handling, Luxury, Interior finish,

Excellent – A great car, our 97 model 1.8 non turbo is pushing over 300,000 is still going great. Feels like a much newer car. Have had few problems but air conditioner is an expensive repair and cam belt is over $900. Would look at another one if ours ever stops! Quality, reliabilty, fuel economy, size A bit slow, quite expensive to service
