bed will feel in a couple of year’s time. Then I stumbled across Karl’s posts on Reddit and Whirlpool – you can find links on the Ausbeds homepage. All of a sudden it became so much clearer about what had gone wrong for us in the past. There is a wealth of knowledge there if you are that way inclined. I’m in Brisbane (and delivery was easy) but if I was in Sydney I would now recommend skip the details and just go their showrooms, try the beds and get the team’s advice on the best mattress for you. For us, we have started with a medium Cooper for the guest room and it’s been great being able to adjust the feel to find what works for each of us as well as being just much more comfortable than what it replaced. We’re waiting till we get to Sydney to try out the Aurora and Cloud before we decide on what we’ll choose for our main bed. And the great thing is that it’s also easy to upgrade the Cooper if we choose to.

Very happy – This is an amazing bed! Very happy with the quality and the comfort. So glad I went with Ausbeds, the whole process was very quick, and the team checked back in with me after a couple of months to ask whether any adjustments were needed. None needed, however, as this bed met all of my expectations and exceeded them. of a similar problem (sagging after a year or so). Given the money I was spending and my idea of a long term investment, I wanted something that I felt would be more reliable in the long run. I also wanted to buy from somewhere that would care if anything wasn't right.

The Ausbeds Cooper mattress had great reviews and a high value-for-money score, particularly for a mattress that was close to my price range. I liked the fact that Ausbeds is Australian owned and the mattresses are made in Sydney. The fact that the owner also responded to reviews also gave me some confidence that I'd found the right company... and I wasn't wrong. I can 110% recommend Ausbeds and the Cooper mattress!

From the moment I picked up the phone, Courtney was a pleasure to deal with. Courtney helped arrange a delivery date to suit my circumstances (moving home). The mattress arrived within a couple of days, within the time slot agreed. The Ausbeds delivery driver was professional, polite and an all-round nice guy. He phoned ahead to let me know when he would arrive, wore a mask during the delivery, delivered the mattress to the bedroom (with my help), unpackaged the mattress and removed all rubbish etc. He also showed me the modular nature of the mattress and what I could do to make the mattress slightly firmer/softer.

I'd ordered the med-firm option online (which was the firmest option available) and having slept on it for a few nights, wasn't sure if it was firm enough for my liking.

Courtney followed up a week later to find out if I was satisfied with the mattress so I asked what could be done to firm it up a little. This is where I really appreciated the personal touch from Ausbeds... I received a call from Karl at Ausbeds who advised they could replace the springs to make the mattress firmer. For the cost of an additional delivery trip (c.$70), the following day the spring set was delivered and replaced. The mattress is now perfect for me, just the right firmness and I'm extremely happy with Ausbeds.

In summary: - I've had the Cooper mattress for around 2 weeks now, it is really comfy, but still firm and supportive. I would definitely recommend it. - I went for a med-firm mattress originally as this was the firmest option available on the Ausbeds website. But after sleeping on the mattress for a few nights and speaking to the Ausbeds team I was able to get a firmer set of springs. Now the mattress is perfect for me. - Thanks to the Ausbeds team's personal touch, getting the mattress firmness adjusted was an easy, pain free experience without having to send the mattress away. - Time will tell but the mattress seems to be really durable and well made. The perimeter/edge fabric seems strong and robust. The top material is soft and makes for a great nights sleep.

bed you see in one shop is exactly the same as the bed in another shop but maybe with a different cover on. It shouldn't be that difficult but it is.

I'm sure you know what I mean, one person says we use memory foam, another says we use gel, another says they wrap their springs, another says we only use German springs, while others say they don't use an edge support made out of steel but instead use high density foam. And so on.

I was fortunate therefore to come across Karl the owner and bed maker at Ausbeds when shopping around for an alternative to all this hype. It's not that Karl doesn't want to sell you a bed, of course he does but he talks in simple language about simple things and tells you what he has discovered in his journey as a bed maker and what he thinks works or doesn't work. He then left it up to me to assess the logic of his argument.

Based in Marrickville a suburb of Sydney it was convenient for us to visit the showroom factory and for my son to try out what is the entry-level bed in a fairly modest range. Don't get me wrong having a modest range is probably a good thing because you can concentrate on doing things well and the customer doesn't get too confused.

As my son is only 17 and life changes rapidly we didn't want a very expensive mattress. However the Cooper Double at less than $650 seemed very good value for a mattress made in Australia from good quality materials.

I chatted with Karl on the phone and he said that if I was to wait a few weeks he would be able to produce a Cooper with a slightly softer feel but as it turned out when we visited the shop floor model appeared to suit my son perfectly.

While the mattress was technically out of stock that was not seen as a barrier and Karl rounded up the necessary components and after placing the order on Tuesday we received the mattress, brand-new, delivered at a reasonable cost on Thursday.

So far so good, my son is very happy. The mattress looks good. There is pretty good edge support for a mattress of this price break and we are comforted by the fact that if we are not happy we can return it no questions asked. But we hope there is no need to.

Karl's support team were friendly, acted as part of the delivery team and made things pretty easy all round. So I am delighted to recommend this Australian company.

bed makers only supply to certain suppliers/retailers. As a result it's virtually impossible to compare prices, as few supply the same bed. Anyway, going back to my experience. Forty Winks, having told me the bed could be delivered in 4 days, once they took my money, told me it would take a minimum 2 weeks. Since we needed it that week, it wasn't going to work. Credit to them, a refund was simple enough.

Then more research led me to Ausbeds. A small company it seems, who cut out the middle man. After a quick chat with Karl in the Marrickville warehouse, and a bed test by my two young troublemaking kids, this was a no brainer. We opted for the Cooper as it was a great price, and seemed well made and very comfy.

The bed was delivered THAT SAME DAY!. It's hard to review the long term quality has we've only had it for a few weeks, but I've tried it a few times and it's super comfy and seems well made.

I liked that this product is made in Australia by Australians, is not a 'bed in a box', and had all the features I wanted (pocket springs and foam). highly recommend ausbeds and the Cooper mattress as a great one for our guest room where we expect young/small people (this one Recomended for <90kg due to firmness). We have other mattresses in guest and main bedrooms bought from ausbeds in a firmer models as my husband and I like firm beds.

right softness of the mattress, and it perfectly fit my budget. I tried all the beds and found mine. I like the creative idea of the mattress being levelled and that I can replace any part, as an example from the hygiene point of view that can’t do with the commercial piece. The bed base is a perfect height. The delivery and set up of my bed were quick and seamless. I was run through how to adjust the mattress shall I need it. The customer service is top-notch, and Karl takes care from every perspective. And yes, I now have an excuse to stay in bed all day because it’s my cloud 9 now.

got in touch later to see how we were going and if we needed any help. The mattress was delivered the next day and the delivery was free! These guys operate like a family and the service was very personal. I loved that you could change the softness level of the mattress, by just flipping the springs around. You can do it yourself or they can come and do it for you for free. I ended up getting a 6 for my daughter and she loved it. I slept on it a few times as well and it was really comfortable. Will definitely be buying from them again!
