Don't Do it!!!!! Purchased at a camping show, we experienced delays upon delays which cost us money as we'd pre-booked camping trips. Our caravan 16 foot hybrid has had nothing but issues since. waste door does not lock, the main door is faulty, there are lights that have never worked, Austrack Warranty and CS is terrible, this product is terrible and a waste of money. My advice is to stay away from this terrible product…..the only travelling this thing has done is from the shop to the caravan park….it has not gone any where near a dirt road. It is a terrible product If there was negative 5 stars that is what I would rate this.

Follow-up  · Since I baught this Van, I have filled out many warranty claim forms and only received responses via email, and never spoke to a claims person and nothing ever got fixed. point...not a fuse? That's straight from the warranty service departments mouth. 3 months after warranty claim submitted....parts still coming from China. Poor communication & won't remove the part from a new van. No parts in stock. Just have to put up with a $65000 van having no hot water and use the caravan park showers. The workmanship on the van as a whole is very poor! Paint fading and surface rust spots already. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere. Buyer beware!

⭐ 1 Star Do NOT bother with Austrack Campers – terrible experience. From the moment I put down my deposit, everything was promises, promises. But as soon as it came time for inspection and pickup, the story changed. I was asked to provide the bank cheque before I was even allowed to inspect the camper — which was an immediate red flag. When I… Read more

finally saw the camper, it was nothing short of shocking. There was extensive surface rust, a dent in the roof, damage to the bung and water tanks, and even the main roof seal was compromised. Inside, screws where the bed met the frame weren’t even secured. The overall build showed zero attention to detail and incredibly poor quality.

I requested a refund immediately, but since then I’ve been ignored. Phone calls and emails have gone unanswered, including from the branch manager. The customer service has been appalling — they avoid taking any liability and are extremely hard to get in contact with.

Save yourself the stress, time and money. Do not bother with Austrack Campers. Easily the worst experience I’ve had with any purchase.

If you’re thinking about buying an Austrack, I really wish someone had told us what we’re about to share. We’ve been travelling full-time in our 2024 Tanami X13, and while the layout of the van is good, the after-sales support from Austrack has honestly been the most stressful part of our lap of Australia… (besides the part where we lost our tow… Read more

hitch )

To be fair, they did fix one thing at the start. the peeling laminate on the benchtop at handover. But the bigger issues we reported just as warranty ended just got ignored or brushed aside.

The bathroom door has never closed properly since day one. Because of that ongoing issue, the bathroom handle eventually broke and even though we raised the door problem from the moment we picked it up, they now want nothing to do with it. Same with the crack in the fibreglass near the bathroom sink. We sent photos a week after purchase and again recently as we near the end of our lap. They just stopped acknowledging it and told us they’re not fixing it.

Then there’s the actuator for the electric roof. Yes, we were six months out of the basic warranty, but this was a major failure, which still falls under consumer law. Rather than investigate it properly, we had to get our own independent auto electrician to test and fault-find just to prove the actuator was actually the problem. Only then did they agree to send a replacement. We were told to drive to Pakenham to pick it up. We showed up, staff had no idea what we were talking about. Another completely wasted trip. Not surprising after visiting multiple Austrack showrooms and hearing from staff themselves that communication between warranty and the shop floor is basically non-existent. Turns out the part hadn’t even left the head office, even though it was confirmed by the warranty team to had been delivered 3 days prior.

And here’s the part that really made us question things…. When we submitted one of our warranty claims, the warranty team actually emailed us saying we had received a “generous discount” when buying the van - around $2,000 it was (as we removed the fridge and had the delivery fee waived) almost as if that should explain or justify the lack of support. We honestly couldn’t believe that was even said. Since when does getting a show deal mean you should expect problems or reduced service?

Here are just some of the faults we’ve had to deal with:

• fridge slide catching on one side (ongoing, never repaired) • kitchen light shorting and tripping the hot water system (left unrepaired; we had to disconnect the light just to have hot water) • kitchen drawer bent despite barely using it (told it’s “wear and tear”… in an off-road van) • awning sagging to head height. still works, but poor quality. No support on how to tighten or anything that could be looked at. • control panel hinge broke (asked to buy a replacement; ignored) • fans randomly switching off (blamed “battery voltage” even though it sits at 13.5V; other owners had theirs replaced, but not us) • dust entering through bed hinge after being told we “wouldn’t need a DRS”… constant cleaning and headaches for the week that we were off-road - literally where we thought they were designed to be taken. • bed rivets popped twice after being “fixed” — reimbursed parts, not labour (still an issue) - although I’ve repaired again myself. • water pump failed (we paid for the replacement and no reimbursement offered) • front sticker cracked and faded badly (took about 4 months to get a new one out of “goodwill”) • bathroom light LEDs dead (out of warranty by six months, so refused)

And one more thing that stayed with us: At one of the shows, an Austrack staff member literally told us our van “sounds like a lemon” and that sometimes one out of a few hundred slip through. AND said ours might even qualify for replacement. We thought, “Alright, maybe they’ll actually help us now.”

But nothing changed.

Different staff say different things, no one follows through, and everything takes weeks or months of chasing. We gave them every chance to make things right. photos, videos, reports, long drives to their stores… but they simply didn’t want to take responsibility for the bigger problems.

So at this point, we’re leaving honest reviews everywhere (as we told them we would), and we’re filming our experience for YouTube. Not out of anger, just exhaustion from trying to get help and getting nowhere.

If you’re looking at an Austrack, please look past the marketing and the hype at the shows. The design is good and the sales and marketing team are excellent, but the support once they’ve got your money has been the biggest disappointment of our entire lap.

Our lap would have been a whole lot better if we’d left our Austrack on the showroom floor.

We’ve shared this story with plenty of people on the road - most are genuinely shocked, and many say their manufacturer support has been the complete opposite of what we’ve experienced.

Well the dust has now settled on our first trip up north, wanna just say thank you Ray for manipulating our order of delivery to make it possible to meet our deadline for the just finished school holidays. I want to provide this feedback, those that know me will say that I can be a very hard task master, our Talawana X15 busted the outback roads we went on like a hot knife through butter, from Marble Bar to Hedland, Pardoo Station and Barnhill Station, not a single glitch.

We couldn't get our HWS working which we weren't overly concerned about, thinking it would be something simple we were doing, and it turned out to be that way, as we had to pass by Austrack we thought we'd pop in, now the boys were flat to the floor with a Caravan expo in Mandurah and initially we were told to come back the following week by whoever took the phone call, given we live in Collie some 200 clicks away that wasn't an option.

We arrived on the Thursday, we'd had a mishap on the car (blown tyre coming out of Hedland) which in the 42 degree heat I may have forgotten to lift the jockey wheel up (I used it as a jack stand in the event the Colorado fell off the jack).

I walked in and got a hold of Tony (our sales consultant and he was a consultant not a salesman) who COULD NOT DO ENOUGH FOR US, within minutes he had Pete the gas guy come out, HWS sorted and he sorted a replacement jockey wheel nc saving us $400+

Throughout the initial sale, the delivery, the climatisation and operation appointment to the after sales support we could not be any more impressed.

Tick goes to the van which every body told me "don't buy Chinese" like the Chinese don't make any products.................I can tell you, the Chinese stuff is just as good as Aussie made, gets here when they promise to get it here and then the local team just kicks arse.

Thanks Tony, amazing service and support

From Peter and Corry-Lynne Blurton (Collie).

and set it up (thursday afternoon), and find faults straight away. We called them within 2 hrs of picking it up, and were advised to just"submit a warranty claim". Their warranty claim form would not accept our details as we had purchased the camper on May 1st, and you could only submit dates up u til the 30th of April. We tried to call for assistance and submitted contact requests via the website, and just over 2 weeks later, there has still been radio silence to the contact requests. The trailer was returned the following Tuesday (Monday was a public holiday) as more faults were found over the weekend, including finding out that the trailer was not Road Worthy due to lights not night even being connected. This was after again being told to submit further warranty claims, but after advising the sheer degree of problems, were told to just bring it straight in. We were advised the trailer would be ready to collect the following Thursday, and had also presented them with what the service gentleman described as "a shopping list" of defects. We have emailed (which we were advised to do and it would be passed along to the correct person to deal with) and attempted to call to receive an explanation as to how we had been handed a trailer in such poor condition- let alone unroadworthy, and there has either been no calls, or being told we need to "speak to Perth" by [Name Removed] the Sales Manager. Perth were just as confused as we were, and flat out stated there was nothing they could do from the opposite side of the country, let alone at all. Further requests via social media, website and calls for contact have been ignored. We were advised yesterday after finally getting through to the service department, that the trailer was ready for collection a day early- we had to do the running around to find this out mind you. Upon arrival to collect- not all issues had been rectified. My partner had to wait while the remaining issues were fixed then and there- to their credit, but we are still missing a piece from our annex. We were advised that we would recieve a call by the end of today, and again nothing. I would strongly recommend against purchasing from this company, as although their trailers seem great (so long as not in the condition we have received our brand new one) their customer service is non-existent. The only recommendation I can make is to speak to [Name Removed], the sales manager I believe, at Rocklea, as he seems to be the only proactive staff member that has been attempting to assist us. Please save your money, and invest elsewhere

the 28.3.25 and was tested for leaks, mind you 400klm round trips and 6hrs of driving at my cost. The very next morning after we picked it up more rain over night and guess what still leaking, oh and they said they had video evidence of the check which I asked for, it was done with a hand held hose which hardly replicates a rain event, I forwarded my photos and videos to them as well. Still haven't been able to use the van since buying 3 months ago and been a nightmare, trying to get our money back due to the product faults and poor workman ship it has but they reckon it's a warranty issue, apparently they want to fix it again properly all I want to do is part ways with it. Very dissatisfied with the product and would steer clear of the brand all together.

Poor Quality Stainless Steel Sinks – We own a Telegraph X and recently discovered that our sink has rusted through and is full of holes. and no one could help. The lady there finally connected me to a person in Spare parts who after I explained my problem relayed to me that he was not surprised and even agreed the quality was poor and didn't really care. Offered me a replacement for $250.00 which I haven't settled on yet. Very disappointed and bewildered that the Spare Parts person was aware of the bad quality and only offered a replacement at my cost. Fair enough as we don't have a warranty but if they are aware of the bad quality then why not replace them with another product.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY – It is impossible to deal with anyone to properly assist. focussed on why was I replacing the battery - that is irrelevant, I should have access to the battery. Was told ‘to just deal with it’ as it’s not under their warranty. The arrogance of the person that I’m forced to deal with is astounding. He told me that there is only a 3 year warranty so I told him I bought it 6 months ago brand new. He was completely dismissive of my situation.

Previous to this when I bought the camper, was told a fridge was included & on invoice however then told no it’s not included & to their credit they did provide me with a fridge. However the fridge slide in my camper is too small to fit anything but 1 expensive brand of fridge & not the one supplied by Austrack. When queried on this they gave me instructions on how to lower the fridge slide to accomodate. When I told them I’m not that handy they fobbed me off to a 4wd company that could do it for a fee - naturally the fella that told me this is also affiliated with that company. I don’t see why I am forced to fix their design faults when they should accept responsibility.

Poor product knowledge from the salesman when I was buying the camper who told me the fridge was included, & 2 x 100ah batteries when I was reading on the brochure that wasn’t the case. Then he changed the invoice when realised fridge wasn’t included. When I picked camper up & pointed out scratches he looked at me blankly even though he ‘had just been polishing it’. At a show I was told by the fella that does the ads that the rust that was on the recovery points was from being in the container coming over on the ship…really? I’ve never bought a new car that’s been rusted??

All I can say is their customer service & assistance is appalling. Do not consider an Austrack camper or van.

Bad customer service – Austrack Campers customer service sucks ! After our very first time using the van [ After storing it for 10 months in our shed ] we realised we had 0 solar power feed & so took the unused van to Austrack Caboolture where I left it as there was no sunshine to allow technician to check, apparently an Anderson plug had detached whilst pushing up the… Read more

roof. Austrack technician advised all fixed & I drove back down to Caboolture from Noosa to pick up the van. We departed on our lap of Aus trip on Nov 17th, weather was rainy. Once weather cleared & full sun came out I noticed we were getting only 0.8A of power. We were now 1200 k's from home, I contacted Austrack warranty & service dept by phone to get some ideas on what might be the problem, one can expect up to 3 ladies to answer which means describing the problem each time !! I also sent an email to Austrack customer service and sent photos of the Redarc BMS readout [ showing 0.8A input whilst in full sunshine ] On 26th I called a number of times and was assured the technician [ S ] would reply to my email, there has been no reply. Now in Tamworth and just been to a reputable Solar service centre, they advised the Austrack panels are crap and the 13 cable clip joins don't help. Currently having new panels installed .. Pretty damn rude when business's / people don't respond to their clients in time of need & some basic advice. I would not buy another Austrack van & my Son in Law has changed his mind about getting one too .. PS; New 2 X 140 W solar panels [ with now 6 clip together connections instead of 13 ] working a treat and we now see the BMS in ' Boost ' even on overcast days, in full sunshine we are getting 16 - 18 Amps. To be fair, other than this issue [ My biggest gripe being not being able to talk to someone in the know ] and some other minor issues [ like the waste hose from sink collapsing flat after my Wife put hot water down the sink ?? the van is working well and certainly tows well.

Unable to contact Senior Management of Austrack Campers – Disappointing Customer Service at Austrack Campers This review details my recent experience with the Head Office of Austrack Campers in Queensland. Communication Breakdown: After experiencing a serious caravan malfunction (wheel shearing off), reaching Austrack Campers to initiate a warranty… Read more

claim proved incredibly difficult. Emails and phone calls went unanswered, leaving me feeling frustrated and unheard. This lack of response significantly delayed the resolution of my issue.

Lack of Access to Senior Management:

Attempting to escalate my concerns, I sought contact details for senior management. However, the Queensland Head Office provided no way to reach higher-level executives. This lack of transparency implies a concerning disconnect between leadership and daily operations. Customers deserve the ability to reach those who can make a difference.

A Call for Improvement:

My experience with Austrack Campers highlights the need for significant improvement in their customer service approach. Unresponsiveness and a lack of access to leadership create a frustrating experience for customers. I urge Austrack Campers to implement better communication channels and a more accessible management structure. This review serves as constructive feedback in the hope of fostering a more customer-centric company.
