 AI reviews summary

Automotive Superstore polarises customers with a significant divide between a user-friendly front-end experience and a problematic back-end service. While many users report a seamless purchasing process with competitive pricing and an excellent website, a substantial segment of reviews identifies severe failures in order fulfilment, communication, and post-purchase support. Significant recurring issues regarding "in-stock" accuracy and difficult return processes suggest a high level of risk for time-sensitive or complex orders.

Pros
  • Website Usability: The online store is frequently praised for its intuitive design, easy navigation, and effective vehicle-match/rego-check tools that help users find compatible parts.
  • Competitive Pricing: The store consistently offers some of the best prices in the market, often undercutting major local retailers and mechanics.
  • Product Range: Customers value the extensive inventory, noting that the store often stocks hard-to-find parts and specific vehicle kits that are unavailable elsewhere.
  • Efficient Click-and-Collect: For local customers, the pickup process at physical locations is generally described as fast, organised, and professional.
Cons
  • Shipping and Stock Inaccuracies: There is a major recurring complaint regarding items listed as "in stock" that are actually unavailable, leading to dispatch delays of several weeks despite customers paying for express shipping.
  • Inaccessible Customer Support: Multiple reviewers flag the lack of a dedicated phone line for online orders, with communication restricted to slow email loops, "useless" AI bots, or unhelpful e-forms.
  • Difficult Returns and Refunds: Users report a "tedious" and "infuriating" returns process, including being charged restocking fees for cancelled orders, being asked to pay for return shipping on incorrect items, and long delays in receiving refunds.
  • Poor After-Sales Resolution: When products arrive damaged or incorrect, the resolution process is often described as dismissive, with reports of "ghosting" or staff accusing customers of damaging items themselves.
Verdict

Automotive Superstore is a viable option for experienced users who know exactly what they need and are not in a rush, provided the transaction goes smoothly. However, due to significant reported issues with stock accuracy and a lack of accessible phone support, it is difficult to recommend for urgent repairs or for customers who value reliable after-sales service.

A great online store as the part fitment validator is accurate. I own an old euro car so parts can be tricky to order online but this gives me the confidence to buy without the worry of returning parts for non fitment. Pricing is also very competitive and turnaround time from order to delivery is very fast.

Ordered a set of replacement narvar headlights for my 81 corvette. Received them, opened the box and realised that they weren't going to fit the buckets. Proceeded to request a refund and was advised there is a 20% restocking fee. $130!!!! WTH! Take me off the mailing list!! Plenty of other sites with way better service.

Probably an order for a less common application, 2 ignition coils for my "48 Lincoln V12. It's 6 volt and to keep it reliable it now has 2 6v coils, 1 per bank of cylinders. Looking forward to a reliable start.

Was Supercheap and somewhat efficient – Bought online on Sunday. Was ready for pick up on Tuesday. I did try and ring on Monday which was disconnected after waiting for 15mins. If you are interstate and it’s urgent, don’t buy from here if you expect next day delivery. If it’s in stock, tick the pick up option.

Ordered Oil, Trans fluid, air filter oil filter. Shipping promised with in 3 days. 6 days later nothing with no time frame given after contact So I asked to cancel the order, stated a 5% fee for this disservice or store credit. Dishonest business practice.

If you’re okay with being without your money and without your product for nearly three months, Automotive Superstore (AS) might be the right choice for you.I ordered a Rhino-Rack roof rack for $1,350 on 25 November 2025. It shipped a few days later, but after ten days with no delivery I tried to get an update — only to discover there is no… Read more

dedicated order support phone line. The sales number connects to a Sydney store that refuses to discuss existing orders. Email support only. That set the tone for the entire experience. The roof rack finally arrived on 12 December 2025 in severely damaged packaging — the product itself was scratched and dented. I emailed the same day requesting a replacement. Three days of silence followed, then another three days after they said they would arrange a pick-up. I had to chase them again. On 18 December they offered a $100 discount on the damaged $1,350 item, which I declined. They eventually arranged collection on 23 December. The return reached them on 9 January 2026 (after being stuck with the courier for several days). Then — complete silence. I had to email again on 15 January to ask what was happening. Their response: they were waiting for new stock from Rhino-Rack because they had no replacement in their warehouse. No prior update, no estimated timeframe, nothing until I followed up. That “waiting for new stock from Rhino-Rack” explanation turned out to be a blatant lie. The replacement arrived on 22 January 2026 — in even worse condition than the first one (more dents and scratches). The box had clearly been opened and re-taped before, and it still had a Rhino-Rack sticker dated September. It was obviously not new stock; it appeared to be another customer damaged return that had been repackaged and sent out. I immediately requested a full refund. More delays followed: waiting for a return label, waiting for the courier (the first driver arrived in a vehicle too small to carry the rack and had to return a second time), waiting for processing. My refund was finally issued on 11 February 2026 — almost three months after the original order. Throughout this entire ordeal I received no apology, no gesture of goodwill, and no sense of urgency or accountability from their team. Every reply came days late and felt reluctant. While couriers can certainly mishandle large items, the company knows this is a risk with bulky products. The bare minimum expectation is adequate protective packaging — something that was clearly not provided here. Competitive pricing means nothing when the customer service is this poor and unreliable. I would rather pay more elsewhere and have peace of mind that, if something goes wrong, the company will actually step up and resolve it properly. This has been one of the most frustrating and drawn-out purchase experiences I’ve ever had. Avoid Automotive Superstore like the plague. You’ve been warned.

I regret buying from automotive super store PTY LTD. Automotive super store email saying we do not have stock for my order. They give me the option to swap and pay extra on another replacement (which i did not order or need) plus an extra fee. took the second option offered of a refund of the order . I was sent a partial refund with $40… Read more

removed from the amount i paid $82.

When they offered me a Full refund in the email exchange showing they had supplier issues. no mention of a fee was made - email attached

only sent a partial refund.

their explanation is not acceptable. “partial cancellation fee has been applied against the original stock purchased, as this was ready for fulfilment within the expected period of 3-5 Business Days. As the initial stock was ready within the stipulated period, the cancellation would have been deemed a change of mind towards these specifically and the fee applied against our terms. “

my purchase with Automotive Superstore PTY LTD was a negative experience

I also expect this review to be flagged and removed. Strongly recommend not buying from Automotive Superstore

terrible customer service. Which i think is AI generated.

also impossible calling them to discuss existing orders or issues.

My other orders arrived in non retail packs and they use deceptive listings. For example they list terminal block jumpers 9217BS as $1.8 - however Enerdrive only sells retail packs of 5. So when you think your buying a specific part number from the Navico group. You instead get individual pieces.

have also included photo of what you receive, which is not what Enerdrive / bluesea shows for the product. I’m not sure Enerdrive or bluesea approve their products arriving without the switch decals or original packaging.

it’s a nice touch ordering bluesea / enerdrive switches and receiving them in a knockoff chinese brand package.

Doing a search for disc brake pads, E.g. Bendix DP2533-Ult4WD & discovered Google ad referring Automotive super store selling a set at $230.99. However 'click' and go to their site, only to find it's not $230.99 but $255.95! This isn't the first time I've seen this type of misleading ad. I thought we had laws in Aust about this?

Prestige RV Cover – Pleased with quality of cover and fits my Campervan perfectly, quick delivery.

Follow-up  · Material on top good due to extra thickness, but rest of material starting to deteriorate in places. Cover doesn't move around, decent fit. Heavy rain just soaks through the thin material but is quick to dry, keeps a lot of the dust off. I think 2-3 years of life depending on how exposed to the weather.

the correct part for replacement. Ohhh NO, Wait around for a week or more waiting for their st^pid eforms to maybe acted on the same day I send, rarely, meanwhile the car is jacked up in the driveway and they couldn't care less. You simply can NOT talk to anyone only via teadious slow communication via eform on their website. Do NOT shop here if you want peace of mind.

Follow-up  · Front struts, no springs for 2010 Ford Fiesta. AS supplied part made in Tailand, my purchase from Burton's was Japan made. Both parts had similar box's but Japenese one was clearer printing on box.

Ridiculously slow postage. I have ordered from this site a good number of times and not once have4 their delivery been in a timely fashion. Normally I don't notice it as much as I'm not in a rush for the parts, but the last 2 orders I have been. I ordered a part from China on the same day as I ordered from here, the part from China arrived… Read more

before I even got an email from AMS confirming they had 'shipped my order'. Don't order from here if you are in any kind of haste for the parts. I'm still waiting for my lower control arm bushes, ordered 10 days ago and I paid $15 for the 'faster delivery'.

I ordered parts listed as "in stock" and promised to ship in 3 days — eight days later there were still no updates. Their website is a joke: no phone support, only useless email loops. When I finally forced a response, all I got was "the order hasn't been processed yet" and a weak apology with zero ETA. Their replies amounted to nothing more than… Read more

If this isn't your brick and motor local, don't bother. 1-3 days to ship on "in stock" items is actually 10 days to ship. I wouldn't recommend to anyone, they use AI bots for their customer service also that don't provide, even a basic level of assistance.

Automotive Superstore is easy to order from and always has the best prices! I ordered a new head unit upgrade kit for my Toyota Prado and it was a hassle free install because the kit comes with everything you need. I highly recommend Automotive Superstore and will be definitely using them again.

The website is well-designed, easy to navigate, and makes the purchasing process straightforward. The click-and-collect service was also efficient and convenient. My only concern, which is not unique to this store, is the lack of complimentary shipping for higher-value purchases. When spending upwards of $400, it would be reasonable to expect free delivery as a standard offering. I will continue to shop here

Support local business! I’m a repeat customer—and for good reason. Everything I’ve needed to restore my 2001 Golf has been in stock and dispatched almost immediately. I also appreciate the occasional ‘special discount’ included in the parcel or sent via email. Orders are always well packed, which is crucial when buying anything from 5 litres of coolant to delicate spare parts. 5 stars to Jeff and the team.

DO NOT use this company, they sell you an item and when its faulty they make every excuse under the sun to not exchange it, dragging it out and leaving you off the road for weeks and weeks even once the item has been returned. A truly awful company , STEER WELL CLEAR

Worst parts suppler on the internet. I've used them twice now, but never again. "Identical" parts came shipped in different boxes. Dispatch date is usually at least 7 days longer than they state. Example, my current order placed 2 weeks ago still hasn't been dispatched. Poor communication. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere.

Completely hopeless service department and think they can ignore doing refunds. Avoid dealing with them at all cost because service representatives like guy Davies would rather bludge all day than do his job. What a bunch of useless kunts.

competitive prices, ease of access on search of online store. good listings of parts for 2 different vehicles now even my latest euro car which has been challenging in the more local retailers with big names. deliver times are good considering the current climate of transport
