"Pay-to-Fix" Scam: When we raised these issues, their response was insulting. First, they asked if we could just "live with the noise." Then, they told us they would only fix their eyesore of an installation or the thumping if we paid them extra money.Everything with this company is a cash grab. They want extre money to run cabels properly and extra money for an inverter cover. They expect the customer to pay for their laziness and lack of planning. We paid for a professional service, but we got a fraudulent experience. I am calling on all other customers who have been scammed by Alka Solar to speak up. We are looking into taking this to A Current Affair to ensure this company stops taking hard-working people for a ride. You don't owe them a cent more—they owe you the service you already paid for!

The pattern has been the same: reassurance, delay, silence, repeat.
I understand businesses get busy. But being busy is not an excuse for ignoring customers after payment. What’s most frustrating is not the delay itself — it’s the constant false timelines and lack of accountability.
If you tell a customer “Monday for sure,” then don’t follow through, and this happens multiple times, it stops being a delay and starts becoming poor service.
At this point, I’ve spent more time chasing them than the actual fix would probably take.
If you’re considering this company, just be aware:
After-sales support may require persistent chasing.
Timelines given may not be honored.
“ASAP” might mean months.

condition. (Their concern: if the roof leaked after they worked on it, was the leak there previously or had they caused it?) This could have been an awkward conversation, but we both (installers and I) handled it well. We got a roofer to clean the tiles and fix the pointing, the installers returned at a later date and all is now working well. I have now engaged AYKA for panels and battery at another property.
Ayka installed my roof top solar system almost 5 years ago. Recently with my internet modem change, the mobile phone communication link with the inverter went down, and could not be resolved even by the inverter manufacturer. they? Then they proceeded to run down opposition companies and try and hasten my decision making by talking about the expiration of rebates. This behaviour is redolent of poor quality companies. Stay away.
Follow-up · I stopped contact. They sent an email after I complained to the sales team member about her approach, but I did not read it. I just wiped my hands of them. I dont want to give my money to a company like that. I have signed with another company.

Be Really CAREFUL – If your in the market for solar be very careful when you come across this company for multiple reasons. 1. They will hound you with calls non-stop till you agree. you to clean up. 4.Damaged my roof ceiling and never fixed it despite me brining it up multiple times. 5.Didnt install the data logging tool which is also called a Dongle. I later discovered this on my own seeing another unit have it, I was finally able to get one after many complaints. 6. They will force and threaten you to sign the final sign off even though the job wasnt complete. 7.They threaten to not lodge my tariff papers till I signed off the final inspection which I didnt want to sign as work was incomplete.
Be really careful when you deal with this lot. I will be making more complaints on this company.

Be wary. Poor installation and customer service – Initially everything seemed great. The price was fine and the salesman on the phone worked with me to get the install I wanted taking into account site shading. the Ayka boss from Sydney will come to Canberra and personally fix the issue but after several months I’m still waiting for him to arrive. Install was pushed back several times, not a problem. Then I received a text message at 8pm saying the installation will be the next day. Nobody turned up and I rang the office two days later to be told they thought the installation was complete. On the day of installation, they arrived around 1pm and were still working on the roof, five of them past 6pm, in the dark and all using their phones to illuminate the area. Not ideal. The next day I noticed the poor install of the inverter. The wiring wasn’t very neat and the conduit through the gyprock was loose and had a huge blob of no-more-gaps to fill the large hole around it that looked rally amateurish. The stickers on meter box were also fitted poorly being quite lopsided, again this was all carried out in the dark with phone torches. I repaired both items myself, but Ayka did give me new meter box stickers. I was also left to clean up plenty of mess from the install around the site. Ayka did little tidying up due to their rush and it was night-time when they finished. Then, after around a month I noticed the solar generation was somewhat down from what was advertised pre-sale. I also noticed my 12.3Kwh system struggled to produce 6Kwh during peak sunshine. Obviously, something wasn’t correct. I notified Ayka Solar. The subcontractor came by and said he will bring the electrician to have a look. One month later and nothing. I contacted Ayka again. They monitored the system and said it’s fine. I sent heaps of screenshots to detail the issues and asked for an electrician to come by and check it but nothing. Ayaka says all complaints will be handled to ISO1002-2004 procedures, but the communication has been awful. Given that I still don’t have a fully functioning solar system for 5 months I was left with no option to try and trace the issue myself and today I think I found it. Both strings have been connected to MPPT 1 (where one should have been connected to MPPT 2) so the inverter, due to the incorrect wiring is severely restricting the power it can produce. I’ve attached a photo detailing this. Firstly, this mistake should never happen and secondly, given all the clear evidence I sent should have been picked up and quickly and easily fixed but even the Ayka electrical engineers failed to spot the obvious.

The team has been excellent in thier quick responses from quote stage to after sale service. After 1.5 years of installation I had an issue with a smart meter which had to be replaced.
