Not recommended – Found the carrier very expensive with a limited life as baby became too heavy for it by about five months. No back carry option which would have been really handy as my son got bigger. The Baby Bjorn design leaves baby's legs dangling rather than in the 'frog' position which can impact negatively on their hip development. Since forking out a… Read more

ridiculous amount of money for the carrier, I have since learnt that other brands are cheaper, offer back and side carry options, last until the toddler years (20kg) and are ergonomically designed to support baby's hips. Would definitely not buy again and feel ripped off. Easy to put on once you get used to it. Only lasted 5 months. No back carry option. Doesn't support baby's hips. Very expensive considering poor design and limited life span.

Truly a godsend!! – I wish i had purchased this little beauty when my baby was first born! I had been given another branded carrier, which did the job, however, did not provide adequate back support when wearing for extended period of time. My daughter absolutely LOVES the baby bjorn. She went through a stage where she wanted to be held of a late evening, so i would… Read more

pop her in, and carry on around the house,, making dinner, cleaning, hanging out washing etc. I go for daily walks with her in it, and don;t have to worry about buckling pram wheels on uneven foot paths! I do the groceries on my own while hubby is at work, and it wouldn't be possible without this carrier!! It is also fantastic to wear when going out for dinner, as some places are tight for space where stroller/prams are concerned. She just falls asleep. A great help for bubs who suffer from reflux as well! I find it very easy to strap her in on my own, and it's adjusting straps are positioned so it can be tightened with one hand once bubs is in position. I was lucky enough to pick one up which had only be used a handful of times on Ebay for $70!! Reliable, comfortable, lower lumbar support, convenient. Machine washable, able to purchase separate bib covers. Bub can face toward you or away from you. Good support for baby neck and back Expensive if purchased brand new (approx $200), can be warm if worn on a hot day- but this has never really bothered me.

Good – I was given my first Baby Bjorn Original but bought this one when my baby was 3 months old as he was getting too heavy for the original version. I have used this product several times a week since. I purchased mine through ebay where there are heaps to choose from. It's a well known brand and you are likely to get good resale value when you are… Read more

finished with it. I'm really glad i bought it. Great for shopping- you don't need to put your baby in the baby seats in the trolley. Much more comfortable than the Bjorn Original carrier especially if walking for any length of time or going uphills. My baby just loved it especially in the first 4 months. We used to call it the sleep inducer. Easy to quickly get out of the house to go to the shops etc.. Can be used with the baby facing forward from around 4 months. Has a limited use- I am not likely to use it up to the 12kg recommendation, it's just too much weight to carry on your front. The back support is difficult to get in the right position and it's a hassle if two people are using the carrier to adjust it each time.

OK – I bought the Active especially for the lumbar support (I get a sore back very easily), however am still struggling to set it up comfortably, so that the lumbar support fits tight against my lower back (it tends to sit a bit high, and no amount of adjusting it has managed to fix this). I have used this on both short and long walks. It's great for… Read more

the short ones, bub seems very comfy and soon falls asleep (both facing in and out), however for a longer hike with steep hills and uneven ground, I found it a bit hard because it was a bit hard to see where I was putting my feet, and constantly leaning back a bit to compensate for the weight on the front does get uncomfortable eventually. While I still love this product, I think I will have to upgrade to a backpack style carrier once bub can support himself a bit better. Not sure it was worth the extra cost over the normal BabyBjorn. Stylish, good lumbar support, seems comfortable for baby A bit pricey, can be tricky to adjust properly, not too comfy for long hikes

Excellent – I was loaned the Baby Bjorn Original, but I soon realised that I needed the back support...which this model delivers quite nicely. It's very easy to adjust the different straps to make it comfy for me to carry around my son around the mall for hours, with no issues on my back at all. I use this regularly with the Baby Bjorn Carrier… Read more

I'm VERY happy with this product. Highly recommended! The back support really works; carrier is very easy to adjust, so my husband & I are able to easily swap. None so far

Excellent for Mum and Dad – Perfect for my husband after trying on most brands. The back support made this the most comfortable for us by far. Easy to get bub in and out once you have practised, most slings are tricky when on your own. You can adjust the flap to give better head support when baby is young. Comfortable, secure, adjustable flap to support head. Tricky at first to get bub into it when you are by yourself.

easy to use for both mum & dad! – We bought this one 2nd hand, as I couldn't justify the cost of buying it new. If it was your first child & you were going to have more, then I suppose you could justify it. We'll use ours with our next baby, but had bought a whole heap of other stuff just before,so $180 for a carrier wasn't really in the budget! Both my husband & I use this… Read more

carrier. It makes things heaps easier when you don't want to take the pram/stroller. I use it when i go grocery shopping, as more often than not I can never get a capsule trolley! It is heaps easy to fit & wear. Probably couldn't wear it for extended periods of time. I think the longest I've worn it so far is 2hrs & my husband about 3. With that said, our little guy is only 6.6kg now. Will probably get difficult as he gets closer to 10kg. simple for mum & dad to use, easy to adjust for size, comfortable, forward facing or backwards facing price to buy new

Great item – Loved this item when my son was little and under the age of 6 months but I found that as he got heavier the carrier cut into my shoulders Great for heavy babies under 10kgs Not great for bigger babies over 10kg

Bad – There are several better soft structured carriers out there that will last you till toddler years. Don't waste your money on a carrier you can only use for a few short months. Ergo costs roughly the same, is a lot more comfortable and you can easily carry your baby till they are 2-3 years old because it puts the weight on your hips, not on your… Read more

shoulders like BB Active. Easy to use. Even with the added lumbar support, this carrier becomes extremely uncomfortable very quickly as the baby grows, reducing the time you can actually use it. The material is thick so no air circulates and both your stomach and baby get really hot and uncomfortable in hot climates. Very expensive when you can only use it for a few short months.

OK – Not a bad carrier but it's expensive and can be hot in summer. I also have an Ergo baby carrier and much prefer it to the Baby Bjorn as the baby's weight is distributed on your hips and so baby can be carried for much longer. Quite good for the first few months – The BabyBjorn carriers are popular for a reason, they are pretty good. The main features I liked was the ability to nurse in private (with a cover over baby) and it's easy to put on. Unfortnately, I found it had a pretty limited useful life, it was uncomfortable once baby was over around 5 months due to weight of bub and the way the carrier fitted… Read more

- basically your shoulders hurt, so can only be used on very short trips. In addition, you can't carry bub on your back, which would be super useful, as would allow you to do things like washing and cooking. I've since talked to lots of mums and would go with an Ergo Baby carrier or similar next time. Easy to use Uncomfortable once baby over around 6kg, can't wear baby on your back

Good carrier with limited benefits – We bought the BabyBjorn Active after hearing so many people rave about how BabyBjorn carriers are the best on the market. We couldn't justify buying it new so we purchased one second hand in very good condition. For the first few months, it came in very handy - being able to take my little baby boy out and still have two hands free was extremely… Read more

useful. Plus, the lumbar support made carrying him so much more comfortable (and back care is so important to me especially because I'm a physio).

The issues came when he was around 5 months old. I found that once my son grew heavier and longer (he is very tall for his age), the carrier started to get uncomfortable for longer periods. This was worse when I had him facing forwards, which he wanted to be from around 4 months so he could see his environment. Because I started to get uncomfortable, I stopped using it as often. I think I would have used it for longer if it had an option of being worn on the side or back but because it can only be worn on the front, I found it a little restrictive. good for smaller/younger babies, hands-free expensive if bought new, cannot be converted to side-wearing or back carrier, uncomfortable for longer/heavier babies

Excellent – I always wanted one of these as they are so easy and you don't run the risk of getting your stroller stuck down shopping aisles. i think this brand is very reputable and therefore the best on the market. comfortable to wear. The newborn setting is very snug for the baby and now my baby loves looking outwards. Lots of straps and sometimes it can be confusing putting it on. The tops of your shoulders aches after a while from carrying the baby if you are a smaller person.

Excellent – My baby loves to be carried in it, especially while we go shopping. She can look around, or even sleep comfortably in it. recommended! Very easy to use - put baby in & out, even while the baby's asleep. Very comfortable & safe for baby. The lumbar support helps to use this carrier longer & yet still comfortable. It can be washed. Can be adjusted according to the baby's length for comfort. Wearer can do their own things with 2 hands free from carrying the baby. Quite expensive for brand new one (but I bought mine from eBay at cheaper price - 2nd hand but is in as new condition).

Good – Overall it is a great carrier and my baby just loved it. I think it is especially good for newborns but after around 6 months I found my baby's legs would get in the road when I walked and I would feel some strain on my shoulders after using it for long periods of time. I have since bought an ERGO and have found this much more comfortable and more… Read more

suitable for older babies but the tradoff is my baby can no longer face outwards. I think my baby prefers the baby bjorn and I prefer the ERGO! My baby loved being in the Baby Bjorn - especially being able to face outwards. She was able to see the world and was free to kick her arms and legs about. She also loved being upright. Excellent support for newborns. My shoulders tended to get a bit sore after prolonged periods. As my baby's legs grew, I found her legs kicked my thighs when I walked.

while my baby was young. It is reliable and is very supportive on your back. I have lower back problems and it was so easy to use (even for me) when my baby was young. When he got to the 8-9 month stage, he was probably a bit too heavy for me to carry but it was no problem for my husband to carry him in the baby bjorn until he was about a year old. There is not much to dislike. It is expensive but it is well worth the price, especially for those who need the added back support.
