I bought 8 x 5AH replacement batteries for our Makita gear. One failed very early on and was replaced at no cost. The others have all either now failed or are useless as the capacity is well below the stated 5AH, so much so that if paired with a… Read more

genuine Makita OEM battery that’s 4-5 years old, I get less than a minutes use before the newer one needs to recharging. They are less than 3 months old. Waste of money and time. Stay with the manufacturers OEM batteries - there is a reason they are more expensive - they last and do what they are supposed to do.

If I could rate them lower I would! I purchased 4 Batteries to suit Dewalt (older model) along with a charger. The batteries last way less time than the 10 year old batteries I have and have no where near the same power. I have sent numerous emails and "Chats" to their website chat line with NO response. They were very happy to reply to emails and… Read more

chats quickly prior to me purchasing the batteries but silence since. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with and certainly would NOT recommend them to my worst enemy. If by some small coincidence someone from Battery Factory has a conscious please reply to this and respond to emails and chats. However I don't think it would be a good idea to hang by my neck waiting.

I bought two Makita-compatible 18v power tool batteries. I received batteries labelled 8Ah instead of the 6Ah that I ordered, which seemed good, but the runtime of the new batteries was suspiciously short, so I tested a 3yo genuine Makita 5Ah battery with an 18V Makita blower, followed by the Battery Factory Outlet "8Ah" battery. The 5Ah Makita… Read more

battery lasted 10 minutes on full power, while the BFO 8Ah battery lasted only 8m30s. Then I fully charged a genuine Makita 3yo 4Ah battery. It lasted 8m40s to depletion. So, the "8Ah" BFO battery is realistically 4Ah at best, and only time will tell how much performance will deteriote with use. How long will it last in 1 year, or even a few months? Obviously if a deal seems too good to be true, then it probably is, so I only have myself to blame, but I am now also concerned about the safety of the battery. If the capacity of the battery was inaccurately described then what about everything else? Let the buyer beware.

Ordered a 36v8amp battery. Received it in good time. First use in my Ryobi whipper snipper lasted about 5 seconds or as soon as it hit grass. Still shows fully charged but after recharging same result. Tried contacting supplier, no reply. Now lodged a complaint through PayPal. Show details

Follow-up  · After going through PayPal I was supplied a replacement battery. It looked the same and preformed the same. It would run a blower but not the whipper snipper and the chainsaw was slow under load. The 8Ah battery supplied looks like the same size as the Ryobi 4Ah original but doesn’t perform as well as it.

Rubbish quality, I dropped one from short height and it smashed, original ones don't. One started smoking while in use, none will accept charge any longer, only a couple months old .don't buy. Show details

Follow-up  · Dropped from 1 m and it smashed. Started smoking in Makita angle grinder. Batteries do not hold charge after a month.

Ordered 2 Ryobi 36V Battery 8.0Ah Replacement | BPL3626 Lithium-ion Battery With LED 18/12/2025 Batteries received were incorrect (6.0Ah) and did not work. BFO have done everything to obfuscate their responsibility and avoid providing return details or a reasonable solution to the purchase. I have provided video showing the issue as they requested - since then NOTHING - zero response. DON'T DEAL WITH THIS DISREPUTABLE BUSINESS!!! Show details

Bought a V7 Dyson Battery with a claimed capacity of 6400mha. I had expected a double row 18650 battery configuration to supply that capacity since the highest capacity in a single 18650 is around 3500mha, limited by physics and chemistry. As an electronics engineer I tested the battery with a gentle discharge rate of 1000mA and found the fully… Read more

charged battery to only have a 1620mAh capacity. Also on opening the battery I found there was no cell balancing leads which are found in OEM and good quality after market brands. This will mean the battery will degrade rapidly as the 18650 move out of balance.

In the same order I got 4 x Makita 18V 3.0Ah batteries. I tested these with the same method above and they were around 1400mAh each and also not the correct max discharge rated battery (this is very important for high current drills etc).

They are not responding to requests to remediate the issues found. The company claims to be based out of Melbourne however no ABN information can be found.

This appears to be blatant fraudulent trading from an overseas company.

Be warned even if your battery looks the part you'll find you have purchased a good looking battery with very much underspec'ed insides.

Will be reporting this to the ACCC and hopefully something can be done. Will also report them to Shopify the hosting platform they are using to sell these under capacity batteries.

Hello Battery Factory Outlet Team, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent order AU#36496 for the 18V Makita replacement batteries (9.0Ah). After fully charging the batteries and using them for the first time in my Makita whipper snipper, I was extremely disappointed with their performance. The 9.0Ah battery provided… Read more

significantly less runtime than my genuine Makita 5.0Ah batteries, which are over 10 years old and already heavily deteriorated.

This outcome is unacceptable and completely inconsistent with the advertised specifications. A new 9.0Ah battery should substantially outperform an aged 5.0Ah genuine battery. Based on first use alone, these batteries are clearly not delivering their stated capacity and are not fit for their intended purpose.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, goods must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and be fit for purpose. Given the performance issues experienced on first use, these batteries fail to meet these consumer guarantees.

As such, I am requesting appropriate compensation, in the form of a refund, replacement with batteries that perform as advertised, or another suitable remedy, in accordance with my rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Please advise how you intend to resolve this matter. I expect a prompt response and a fair resolution.

Kind regards,

Kurt

Selling fake batteries. Not at all what they advertise them to be. And when I enquired about it, they said "can't you just try them out?" They then blocked my email so i couldnt get back to them. I would not trust them at all. Show details

I ordered a Ryobi-style battery (18V). The claimed capacity was 9.0Ah, the actual capacity is somewhere between 7.5 and 8.0Ah (after 5 cycles), so not quite what they promised. WARNING: they charge you international transaction fees even though they ship from within AUS and advertise in AUD! This is illegal but they don't care. Show details

I bought a 2-pack of "DC9096 4800mAh Ni-MH" batteries for my older, but reliable, DeWalt tools. They were delivered in a timely manner but as I opened the package I immediately suspected they would be poor performers as I had experience with ones of the same appearance bought on eBay a while back; the only writing on the things was "Made in… Read more

China" - no proud manufacturer, composition or capacity shown. Sure enough, despite the 4800mAh capacity claim in the marketing, they would only run for 4-5 minutes before exhaustion and, not unexpectedly, would fully charge from flat in about 9 minutes! This tells you something about their ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC CAPACITY - be lucky if they are 480mAh! Further, they were almost impossible to insert in my DeWalt chargers; the force required seriously ran the risk of damaging the charger and/or battery. I complained to BFO, who could not seem to understand that I wanted to return the batteries as they were sub-standard. After a week of exchanging emails I mailed the batteries back to DFO's return address at my cost and obtained a charge-back for the purchase price on my credit card. While BFO obviously just on-sell other's products, the least they could do is check the quality of what they are offering and, just maybe, recognise that if a customer wants to return them, its because the goods are not acceptable. I will not be dealing with DFO again.

my next purchase. I advised the that the failed battery was under warranty and asked them what they were going to do about it. Despite numerous attempts to get a reply, nothing from them. These people are not at all honourable and my advice is to avoid them like the plague.

I only saw these reviews after I bought them, and honestly, they freaked me out. If the items hadn't already shipped, I would have even asked for a refund. But actually, the batteries have been working great since I received them. I guess maybe people whose batteries work fine just don't think to leave a review. Classic survivorship bias, haha.

I needed a couple of spare batteries for my Makita gardening tools, seeing the price advertised and the reviews of the Battery Factory Outlet, I thought I'd give them a go. bigger capacity is better for what I was after. After fully charging the units I proceeded to use them in my 36v line trimmer only to find they lasted about as long as my old genuine 3Ah batteries, still I thought I'd recharge them to see if there was an issue. The recharging process took about 1/3 the time it takes to charge my existing 6Ah batteries which lead me to think these are either mislabelled or defective. This is when I contacted the Battery Factory Outlet for their thoughts. ............... Deathly silence to any of my emails. This contradicts the 'great service' that is noted on their website (feedback probably generated by a bot). In short, batteries work but are not the capacity they claim and the customer service is non-existent so beware if you're considering purchasing from this organisation.
