Can the glass lid be removed from the freestanding cooker?

It must be able to be removed because mine came without one. Sorry I can't be of more help than that. Cheers.

Hi Deb - if fitted to our gas freestanding cookers, the glass lid CANNOT be removed. This is because the lid is not simply for cosmetic purposes and actually serves to activate the thermocouple switches on the models to which it is fitted, and therefore a necessary part of the cooker.

In short, If the lid is removed the gas burners will not operate correctly.

I would go with the Official Belling reply. I must say the glass top is an appealing feature of the cooker, acting as a splash back when cooking and extra bench space when not.

I'm not a fan of the yellow colour of my oven I inherited in my home purchase, is it possible to change the colour, eg. New door covers or some kind of paint job?

Dependant upon the full model number (and the age of the oven in question) you may have the option of replacing either the door assembly in its entirety or the door outer skin only to change the colour. Please call our head office to be referred to an authorised supplier of spare parts and service in your area in order to obtain pricing applicable to same: Ph 1300 556 816
