Building a home is supposed to be a big, exciting milestone moment and BGC and its staff have made it the most miserable and stressful experience. Do not build with BGC Housing Group and do not purchase anything associated with BGC's new branding as Atlas Building (WA) Pty Ltd. Same horrible people, same negligent, greedy business decisions, and same lack of accountability or desire to do what is right.
Nightmare with no end in sight – Workmanship on build is appalling, but customer service is worst. Communications are non-existent. painting and electrical fit off had not been completed despite the fact the appointment had been set weeks prior - no one had attended site.
It had been noted to BGC 8 weeks prior that HVAC was in the wrong location, this had not been actioned.
Site supervisor seems like a nice enough guy, but has no experience in project management and just stood in front of me telling how hard it is to get trades ( I'm a PM who has managed a 5 story, 60 apartment build in half of the time he has had so not buying that excuse) There is no shortage of reliable and skilled trades, especially electrical, HVAC, plumbing.
Site supervisor on seeing the Independant consultant i had engaged for PCI told me straight out 'if he finds defects in the roof structure, I won't have my home for another 6-8 months because they won't come back'... WTH???
PCI defect report ignored for weeks, with admin telling me in writing that site supervisor doesn't have time to review so i just have to wait - no timeframes given.
BCG throw entire project to inexperienced admin staff who had no skill in negotiation or dispute resolution, so they either ignore you or treat you with contempt because they have no answers to provide.
The only thing they are quick to do is issue invoices and demand payment.
Worst decision of my life, I have given these clowns almost half a million dollars and i'm homeless, with no end to this nightmare in sight.
IF you are thinking of building, don't just stay clear of this business...run!

Disappointed house build – Absolutely disgusted with the service from BGC. For a BRAND-NEW house definitely does not look like it. Took well over 3 years for my house to be finished. they were getting everything done, had PCI 2 things still no done. I just wanted he keys, as a single mum lucky to be where I am renting at over $1100 a fortnight and a mortgage was just killing me. Picked up my keys from the most miserable lady at BGC. I wasn't even excited she made it even worse. Have made many emails and left messages over 2 weeks ago to about emergency things, like light switch covers were no put on which is a little dangerous if you are needing to use those lights. Still waiting for the supervisor to drop them off 2 weeks later still nothing. Upgraded door handles just to be scratched and not even on properly, said they were ordering and replacing, still waiting. Pipes not cut down makes the front look very untidy, down pipes have no bracket, cladding not gapped. OMG I could go on and on for days with the stuff not right and for the way I have been treated by staff, admin, the tradies they use they just do not care. Anything with this company is just not up to standard like a new house should be. I would never ever recommend anyone to build through them, originally signed up with Aussie living homes. everything in their power to avoid having to re-do something when the workmanship was so far below par it made me think my 3 year old had done it.
Progress – Never again my comment on first review did not last long at all. so over the excuses they give you for nearly 3 years since slab down. We never get a straight answer on what's going on. My opinion is i find that their organisation is not up to scratch. Only good outcome is the contractors that do come in eventually are doing a good job. Show details
BGC: Happy to remain just MEDIOCRE – When it comes to residential homes, BGC are happy to settle with mediocrity! For example we moved into our new house only 7 yrs back and since then the water faucets(taps) have been nothing short of frustration. They keep leaking from time to time, we have lost so much water, spent numerous dollars fixing and repairing and still we are having issues with leaking taps. Show details
Don’t bother – Build was terribly managed, big issues along the way, poor communication, average workmanship and took 3 years to build. Was given 2 price increases and paid a lot of dollars in interest waiting for the house to build 2 years longer than was originally said. Once you pay final payment they don’t even come back to fix issues from PCI1. Show details

didn't get the keys until 3 months later. Keys given to me didn't even work and locksmith had to change all the locks. Then had to go back to get garage door remote as they forgot to give them to me. Solar panels still not working and they are just saying not their problem. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

call the builder asking the progress that’s how these scum bags treat you .. you won’t be treated as a customer after the sales process.. They come in different names time to time .. Never build with Bgc – Poor workmanship and took 3.5 years to complete single story house. Staff has lack of knowledge and experience. the build and no roof sheeting still. I cannot express how depressed I am and cannot think of any other solution to this. Only way I am able to get out of this experience without debt is suicide. Makes me feel even worse when Celebration homes is at plate height in 2-months on 2 different houses which are my new neighbors house... If I live to see and actually call them neighbors.
Avoid BGC – Signed contract December 2020 being told I'd be in my house by Xmas 2021, slab August 2021, bricks August 2022. Ridiculous – My block registered in September 2021, still no we’re near completion. It’s at the point now we’re im sourcing my own trades as no trade wants to work with BGC. I started a second build 14 months after this build started, I’m almost at handover with this new build. Delays after delays – BGC are terrible builders who have nothing but delays. We got our pad down in August last year and only have just completed the roof stage. new about when we signed up 2 years ago but they didn't factor into the contract. If you knew it was going to take 3 years, you should have said so. You should be ashamed of yourselves and no wonder you can't keep staff.
APPAULING COMPANY – Building a townhouse with BGC (Terrace homes), work commenced March 2021. Managers dont answer your calls or emails, they agree on pricing then change the pricing last minute. Got another delay letter today that my home wont be ready till April 2024. Over 3 years for a 7m front townhouse??? Terrible communication, terrible attention to detail, terrible customer service. builders I contacted, that provide me fantastic service and listened to my requirements. Plans were great and pricing was competitive. [Name Removed] the Customer Service and Colour Consultant was also fantastic. The customer portal and selections is very easy and simple. So all pluses.
However, the time they have taken to do things has been the troubling part of the process, and this being a detriment of being a bigger builder and taking on too much work. So the ironically one of the reasons I chose them is the reason the process has been poor. Took 10-12 weeks to receive a contract and once the land was titled it took 6 months to get to site.
Both files were sent to construction before Xmas 2022 and 8 months later we have only just had bricks completed on one of the sites. So disheartening to see builds by other builders next door nearing PC stage when they started the same time.
The fact that both Go Homes and BGC stopped taking any sales in order to try and catch up says it all.
In hindsight I would have been best to choose a smaller builder and take the risk, as these delays are costing me a lot of money. Lets hope things improve from here and I can update this review favourably

own admission, hasn't worked for them since before our job was booked! In April 2023, we gave up waiting and found our own. The Site Supervisor has been found by us to be loitering around the estate, chatting to his brickie mates and smoking in clients' homes. When we made a complaint to BGC, they said they would investigate. To date, they refuse to update us on the investigation into our SS. We have now begun our complaint process through the Building Commission as any communication with BGC has been swept under the rug and blatantly disregarded. Even though we get reports daily of clients being threatened with legal action if they do. BGC admin staff seem to have an irresponsible backlog of jobs and are overwhelmed. Upper Management need to open their eyes and see what is really going on right under thier noses. Once we are done, we will never knowingly do business with any company that is directly affiliated with BGC. This entire experience has been tarnished by their scrupulous business practices and unconscionable conduct.

to me. Jobs are all half-finished, and they pressure you for progress payments. There is no communication, you ask for a manager to call and you never receive a call from them. Please do not use this company.

I got an email saying that my house expected date of completion is FEBRUARY 2024. I feel like I am going to faint after reading that email.
There were so many housing groups in the market, I fought with my husband to choose the smart homes group. Now, I have been taunted by my husband each and every day. I feel like I better die and leave everything behind. I got enough things on my plate and on top of that this stress. I am really not in a position to take all the stress.
My husband is the only one who is financially supporting us. What should I do now? I am mentally and financially empty. I sent more than 30 emails to BGC to help me, but nobody cared for me. Life sucks what should I do. Please provide a house for my family on time even if I commit suicide. I can not take the blame on my head forever that I chose the worst housing company and ruined my husband's money. My head is spinning while writing this.

AVOID BGC(Go Homes) – Pursuant to my review a while back, I am currently taking legal action against BGC(Go Homes) for negligence and deception. We signed contract in August 2020 and BGC has only completed brickwork so far. More than two years on and we are paying rent, mortgage and bills for two properties(the one that I am renting at the moment and my land). So frustrated with this company. BGC BURSTING PIPE – Our home commenced building in 2019 with handover in early 2020. It is now January 2023 and we have just woken up to a burst main water pipe in our ceiling. Water running down the inside of our walls and the outside bricks saturated in water. The infamous Iplex polybutylene pipes had burst in our roof space. We are now left with horrible water… Read more
marks on our ceiling and walls and out of pocket expenses for emergency repair work to have the plumbing repaired.
This is our second water issue with our home build. The first being the main bathroom leaking water running out into the hallway. Ruining our flooring and leaving another ugly water mark on the wall.
Thank God for our reliable professional plumber who fixed both plumbing problems for us. The most recent roof leak being repaired on his day off.
Our house is still like new. We shouldn't be having plumbing problems like this 2 to 3 years into taking ownership of our home.

Don't build in a boom and don't build with BGC – From the beginning it's been incredibly difficult to work with BGC. The negatives: - At sign up didn't explain what was to be paid out of pocket and what was put on the mortgage- ended up cancelling honeymoon plans at prestart to pay for the extras we were told to wait to add in/change (so they could charge extra) - Never told an estimated completion date in writing and lots of lies about that in person. It's now been over 2.5 years since signing contracts. - They don't communicate to you at all. I have to consistently email to ask for updates, to see pictures, estimated time for next part of home etc. They don't use the portal well (this is where all that information is supposed to be but isn't) - They do not take responsibility for their errors and when you bring them up (ie. our tiles were laid off centre in the toilet very badly, they couldn't source our original chosen bath and charged us for the alternative that was closest to our original choice) they threaten with delays and try to persuade you to let them leave it how it is (in person, never in writing) - No compensation or attempt to apologise for extensive inconvenience caused such as consistently changing moving dates impacting rent, since they took so long they couldn't source the products we originally chose etc.

the guts to actually tell us, just send accomodation extension payments until 20th January. So whilst all of Bgc will be enjoying their holidays and Christmas we will be trying to find some where to live for Christmas and beyond until the works are completed. Since we received our letter a week ago we have had ZERO CONTACT from Bgc as they don’t want to tell us what we can see is about to happen.
