Handover of completed house late August 2025. Late yesterday (Sunday) we found some moisture in the carpet against the wall in our front downstairs guest room. A quick call to after hours number and within a couple of minutes I was talking to a Brighton rep. 10am next morning. 10am (Monday) two men, Lee and Wilbur attended our home. Spent about an hour examining the outside, climbing through the roof, listening through the walls, not only ruling out a few things but also reenforcing our confidence in the rest of the house. They suspected a likely leak to a pipe, and left promising a plumber as soon as possible. Within a hour I had a call from the plumber and he attended our home where he promptly located and fixed the leak. Thanks Lee and Wilbur for your professionalism on site. Thanks Brighton for fixing this problem within 24hrs of notification. This is our first Brighton contact after handover, and although disappointed with the leak, you have to be happy about Brightons approach and interaction with us. Still a little to do with this job in terms of patching, cleaning and replacing to make new the room, but every confidence that will go without a hitch.

Summary: We had an awesome build with Brighton. I was waiting for the entire process to be complete to write my review. (Cosmo 24) was perfect for our family with very minor changes to window sizes. We also had fixed site costs which were reasonably priced. Brighton is one of the few volume builders who have standard floor plans that include two basins in the master bed (which we wanted). Most builders have master bathrooms with a single sink, tiny shower and small benchtops which cost more to upgrade.

Admin: The admin process took a bit long as the colours studio gets very busy. However, once we did the selections process it was great. Jane took time to explain the included options and the included selections were great. We did not have to do too many upgrades and our first home is stunning.

Build: Our site supervisor Joshua was excellent. He kept us informed and sent photos almost every week with an email summary of what was coming in the following week. We really appreciate his excellent project management skills as cyclone Alfred caused some delays. However, Josh was able to get everything back on track quickly. Our site was cut at the end of Jan 25 and handover was in July 25. A very quick build (4 bed single storey house) and the quality of our home is amazing.

Aftercare: The after care team have been lovely. The admin team (Maddy) communicates well and Bailey has done a good job repairing the very minor defects that we had. A few outdoor walls needed some paint touch ups and silicone in the kitchen needed redoing as the wrong colour was used. These are the main defects that we had and they are very minor things. We are so happy with our first home, the build process was great and we would build with Brighton homes again.

We have built with another builder before and had a rough journey however Brighton and especially our supervisor Scott went above and beyond for our experience and truly made it so enjoyable. He always kept us up to date throughout the process and the quality of our home is a 10/10. We chose Brighton because of the reviews but learnt can't trust what you read either. Communication to begin with was terrible, constant following up, constantly sending back plans to fix up mistakes made. Excuses were made that they didn't have enough workers when palmed off from person to person. So many misunderstandings. Then when we started… Read more

to build it started of so great then went downhill from there. I guess it depends what area you are in also to what the trades are like but still you think they would make sure the jobs are done to a good standard. Their number one response to our questions why things weren't done properly was "that's how it's done". Quality of finishes are definitely not great. We had issues with the hot water system in the first couple of months shorting out with no hot water and the fastest they could come was 5 days so we got someone else in lucky we did because it was a shonky wiring job. Gas pipes were also not done properly and leaking. Many many issues with finishes. Regret paying extra to get drawers etc put in robes, terrible handles, they attempted to straighten them so they closed properly but still aren't great. Regret the extra for niche in shower everything falls off the shelf Regret the extra for the mirror sliding doors the paint and silicone finish was terrible A section of the plan was flipped but the doors on storage now no longer open all the way as they hit the bulkhead but they won't fix it because apparently the plan people don't check those things. We asked for small shelves to be put in a book and that was never done Towel rails were hung so the shower door smashes on them instead of moving them over 10cm Paid extra for a smooth transition between inside and the alfresco but far from the pictures we were shown what it would be like Only positive was the build was finished earlier but probably more of a negative because the rushing shows in the finishes Plaster was a positive and tiling is well done but not grout, silicone was terrible, architrave joins were all terrible. Insulation was missing in places, tiles had ground patches. It was stressful and Id never build again, don't choose Brighton unless you know trades are good in your area. Yes they came to attempt to fix things, but never got around to doing it all and the attempts to fix weren't much better. One chap that did come out and did a few repairs was probably the most valuable employee they had, he was well mannered did the job well and cleaned up after himself. Water pressure is bad when 2 showers are running even though all neighbours are fine, hot water takes forever to heat up when tap is turned on. We also paid extra for better carpet which was another regret, it's very noisy to walk on, wakes you up at night if walked on even by a cat
