100% Build and Finance with Brighton Homes

In short we would highly recommend Brighton as your new home builders.
Please read on if you would like to know the details why.
BRAND - Deposit of land May 2018 for planed registration in July 2019 so we had time to find a good builder, sourced builders Feb 2018 before land deposit settled on Brighton September 2018. Build letter to commence 2 weeks after we got the land. As this is our first build we did our due diligence on many of the brands and even custom builders. What you get from Brighton as standard far way out the competition with quality and price.
SALES - Andrew was our sales manager and he is amazing. We threw so many challenging questions and changes to him and he would come back to us immediately with options. As one of us works day shift during the week and the other at night including the weekends it's hard to get us together and Andrew always come through for us out side of business hours. Even after we moved onto the construction side and finished with Sales the outstanding customer service continued from Andrew and still does today. We can call him for any concern or questions we may have, he has made this journey so much easier. A big thank you to Leon too who we would see when Andrew had to have a day off.
PRE CONSTRUCTION- Our project manager is Liam. As this was our first build I didn't have a lot of knowledge but my husband had built houses before so this was a blessing. Liam went over all the detail with us and again many changes still happened including days before the construction started. Liam is very professional and very accommodating. He would reply quickly and as we had months to prepare we didn't feel rushed or worried about the process. The time does move quickly and we would highly recommend you use Liam as your PM.
DESIGN - We had Linda for electrical, Jelena for colours and also saw the other girls include Kirsty (boss) over our many visits. The girls where fabulous and patient with us. We would recommend doing at least 2 pre visits and the walk through as we thought we knew what colours and selections we wanted. As there is so many choices and options when you see them in person you change your mind. We loved how Jelena showed us how colours change when you put them to other colours and there advice is priceless. One other thing we would recommend is budget for double of what you think if you want the high end finishes as it does get away from you. Let the girls know your budget and priority list before hand and they can work magic.
FINANCE - My Choice home loans wasn't an option for us as we thought the banks are the one to deal with . This is so wrong we went through 3 brokers in the 18 months leading up to the settlement. Our first one nearly lost our land because he was slow at doing paperwork. We moved to the developers recommendation and 3 weeks out of settlement he said no did not want to do it "as wasn't going to make enough money off the deal" as I think he just did an open day and got a heap more clients and ours wasn't clean cut. The 3rd we went to was good and she went to 2 different banks but received short valuations which gave a 70k shortfall that we didn't have, so Liam (godsend) said send info to our team and I was ready to stop the whole build but my husband said let's do it.
WOW John and Danielle from My Choice finance got our info and secured the loan in under 2 wks with the full 30yrs (we were doing 25) and a better interest rate and valuation. The payments for the whole process has been a breeze having it all in-house even though our loan still comes from a outsourced bank. Don't go anywhere else call John and he will look after you in the fastest, smoothest time possible.
CONSTRUCTION- Our site supervisor is Luke and we are currently at "roof on" stage. We met Luke on when our block was cut and he walked us through the process of what was going to happen. This process, because of waiting for land to register has been very long but the build is far from that. We go every week to have a look and more has been done, it's moving so fast. Luke in very informative and keeps us up to date and we love the portal of photos and stages. The tradies we have met take pride in their work and they are very friendly too. Luke has put a fence around our whole place and lock on the gate to stop people coming in and we were allowed by Brighton to put up a camera to watch the build happening which is awesome since every time we go there it's further along. We very grateful to have Luke as our supervisor and can't wait for handover.
OVERALL Brighton is a must as a whole package deal and the team are fabulous to work with. Thank for reading our very detailed review and I'll add a bit more once completed so you know the handover and also down the track for how the build looks in years to come.

Exceptional Sales Experience

It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Wanye and Liz. They both have been amazingly prompt and easy to reach throughout the process. We being first homeowners, Wayne's advice helped us a great deal to decide on the design and budget that best suited our needs and wants. Wayne answered all our questions with utmost sincerity and honesty. We are pleased with the sales process and looking forward to kick-off the prebuild and build process very soon.

Excellent customer service process

Currently in the pre-construction phase of our build with Brighton Homes. We made initial contact with Andrew Sandall and Martine at the Rochedale Display. Andrew was amazing and went above and beyond to find us a house design that would suit our needs and block. I found both Andrew and Martine to be very personable and were committed to helping us achieve our vision for the property.

Our selection process through MyDesign Studio was very hassle free and straightforward. We were assigned Linda for the walkthroughs and electrical while Jelena assisted us during our colour selection appointment. Both Linda and Jelena were wonderful. I really liked how they gave honest advice and didn't try and upsell or add on additional costs. Through this process both Linda and Jelena were attentive and accommodating and would highly recommend that prospective clients take advantage of all the walkthrough opportunities which is something you don't get with other builders.

Liam has been our contract coordinator and again cannot speak highly enough of him. He has been very professional and organised and has promptly addressed any concerns or issues that have popped up along the way.

I would highly recommend Brighton Homes to customers looking to build their next home.

Awesome Experience So Far!

We have just completed the building contract preparation / signing phase with our contract supervisor Liam and site construction of our new home in north Brisbane has now started! Liam has been amazing through the entire process, providing excellent customer service and advice throughout as we refined design plans. Liam has been excellent to work with and we now look forward to the next phase of our build. We have been impressed with the entire team at Brighton Homes and cannot recommend them highly enough!

Simply the best

Julie and Linda were our colour appointment consultants and they both had great ideas about selecting items and matching colours. We are the first home buyers and it was an amazing experience. We ended up nice combination of both simple and luxurious items which fit best within our budget. We are really happy to choose brighton home.

Cannot fault process of colour selection

Julie was wonderful helping with our colour selection and we were not pushed for time. She had some great ideas and we got great feedback on our ideas. Liam had to make a few appointment changes for us but nothing was too much trouble.

My Dream Home

I was looking at the display village at Harmony with my sisters, when I saw the Brighton Monterey.... I said let’s just look at this last house...I already owned a beautiful house on the water and certainly wasn’t looking to move...
But the minute I opened the door it took my breath away...
The design, decor and every tiny detail is superbly done... The quality of this builder is magnificent....
Wayne and Liz have been tremendous, they have been so helpful in my purchase and nothing has been too much trouble... Wayne even spoke to their finance company and John organized my finance...
Brighton Homes have been a pleasure to deal with and very patient as my finance took a while, as I had not sold my house, but there was never any pressure,
I don’t hesitate in giving them a 5 star rating ...
My house is still on display until April, go and look round it & fall in love like I did, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed...

Prelim Stage Experience

We are near the completion of our Admin stage and it has been exceptional customer service all the way. While it is still preliminary stages - the level and service quality has been exemplary.

Pre-sales
We liaised with Ian/ Leon (Newport) during the intial stage of our build. They were both very accommodating to our numerous requests and changes. Both of them have very good product knowledge and experience. Ian was able to give us a lot of suggestions which saved us time with our plan approvals, etc.

Contract Admin
Liam has been very helpful and prompt with our requests and questions. He has been extremely patient and accommodating with our requests.

Colour Studio
Jelena was our colour consultant. She was very well-prepared right from the get-go, and maintained a high-level of professionalism throughout the day. It was very heartwarming to see her getting equally excited as us in designing our home. She provided advice when required and was very accommodating with changes made during the appointment as well as after.

Pre-start and MyChoice

While the admin stage can be fairly long and daunting, we have received nothing but exceptional customer service from the team at Brighton Homes.

Ian (Newport) was excellent in the planning stage and provided great advice to ensure our needs were met and was also happy to steer us away from potentially bad decisions.

Liam has been fantastic with answering all of our questions in relation to our plans and contract and has been accommodating in making adjustments where required.

Finally Julie from the MyChoice studio has provided nothing but brilliant advice in relation to selections and has also been very accommodating with changes after our initial appointment. This has been one of the best aspects of the process as you don’t need to feel like your first decision is your final decision.

Overall we have had a great experience thus far and are looking forward to site start in the coming weeks!

My choice design studio

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Jelena Novakovic who was our colour consultant for our new home. She is amazing. Her professionalism and knowledge is wonderful. Jelena understood what we wanted to create in our home and showed us different options which made it very easy to choose from.
We have been so excited since this time with Jelena as we can now picture the home of our dreams - thanks to her.

July 31st 2019 Update: thank you to all the wonderful people at Brighton.

We have signed our final contract and would like to extend our appreciation for the wonderful service and help we were given. From the first day that we met Steve Downes, we felt that he was going to help us achieve our dream. Steve was available anytime to help us with our many questions and came back with any queries promptly. Nicholle - Steves sales assistant was always friendly and helpful.
We then began our journey with Paula Jonson - our project co-ordinator. Her experience is to be commended. She was always available and very helpful with different suggestions with our plan.
Rob - the project manager gave his time to visit our land and his input was fantastic.
Jelena - our colour consultant knew what we wanted to achieve and put everything together beautifully.
Our advice from Linda with electrical was amazing. She is certainly an expert in her field.
So overall as you can tell we feel so confident moving forward as we are dealing with lovely and talented people.

Marvellous MyChoice!!

Jelena at the Brighton MyChoice Studio was fantastic to work with, she was encouraging and supportive in helping to create our vision. Even before attending our colour selections appointment Jelena was completely happy to email back and forth with us and provide pictures of selection items which allowed us to be more prepared for our appointment. We had a wonderful experience at the Brighton Homes MyChoice Studio and did not feel pushed into making decisions. We highly recommend Jelena and appreciate her being friendly and respectful whilst showing her passion for her work.

Amazing customer service

We have just finalised our tender for the Oasis 30 with Chris at Pallara..finally! Chris and Shae have been welcoming us since we first stepped into the display centre a few months ago now. We have had nothing but great experience so far, fast turnaround on queries, transparency and great advice along the way from Chris. He has been super patient and always had the time of the day for us. We will have to find an excuse to go see Chris and Shae now that we are moving to selections :) Really glad we moved from another builder to Brighton. No regrets so far. Everybody at each of the other display centre we have visited (Ripley and Rochedale) have all been so helpful and welcoming too! Well done Brighton Homes for choosing the right people to service your customers. We will definitely be recommending you to friends and families!

September 1st 2019 Update: Pre-construction and MyChoice Selections

The Brighton Homes customer service to date continues to be nothing short of amazing! Everyone we have dealt with at the MyChoice Studio have been so easy to liaise with. Special mention to Paula who guided us through the plan presentation and have helped with some pre-construction variations. We also met Kristy and Jesse on the same day and we are so glad we were able to feel comfortable with them before the overwhelming task of choosing colours. Jesse took us through a couple of open studios and we found the process from thereon smooth sailing. The key is to come prepared with a general idea of what style you are going for and bring photos to open studio. From there, Jesse and Kristy got the idea of the look we wanted to end up with and our style evolved from there. I also came prepared with a list of needs and wants and questions which were all answered either on the spot or soon after with a follow-up email from Jesse. She is so prompt and thorough with everything and we didn't feel pressured to hurry up and make decisions. Jesse is super patient and both her and Kristy were extra fun to work with at the studio. We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone at the office for their help with our building journey so far, including Charlie at reception and Jelena who helped us with a last-minute internal colour change to avert a disaster! We are hoping that the great experience with Brighton Homes continues through to the construction and completion phase. We can't wait to see our house come to life. Would recommend Brighton Homes any day!

New home

We have just finished our new home and kris and his construction team done a fantastic job. Kris was very helpful and quite dilligent throughout the construction stage (especially with the photo updates on the website which were fantastic) and we can still contact him now after the house has being completed if we have any questions (great service).

The overall experience was excellent from the preliminary agreement stage (June was awesome and very helpful she done a great job with great customer service), my choice selections (jalena also provided great customer service and very helpful) and construction (kris great customer service, quality workmanship and build quality).

The design stage from the project managers started off terrible as our project manager was double booked and we had another project manager fill in which was no help as she didn't have any idea of our design. This stage would have been helpful if the project manager assisted us with suggestions/ideas that would be cost effective being new home builders as we didn't know that a window is not necessary in the laundry (not being a livable room) and unfortunately didn't get one as we picked this up too late during construction and was too costly to install however our project manager did help us with options on cutting costs in the type of footings that allowed us to use the money in other areas and save around one percent in the overall cost which was great.

The lessons that we did learn from this experience is:

1. make sure you know what you want from the start then double check the final drawings before signing that you have everything you want and don't be rushed. 2. Stick to your budget especially when you come to colours and selections and 3. Make sure you have budgeted for other costs such as all weather access before build happens and landscaping, concreting, driveway, fencing, overland drainage etc for after the house is built 4. Don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions or wait on products if they are delayed during construction stage so you end up with a house that you wanted because at the end of the day you are going to live in it and pay for it.

Outstanding customer service!

We simply cannot praise Jules and Natalie at Helensvale highly enough. From our initial greeting from Natalie right through to then being looked after by Jules, they are both tremendous assets to the Brighton Homes organisation. Jules was so patient and professional, totally exceeding our expectations by thinking of new internal layouts that would be bespoke to us to truly give us our dream home. We are so excited to be able to build our first home in Australia and have complete faith in Jules as we just know she is almost has excited as we are!

Exceptional service

We have just finished building our first home. The service we received from Wayne Moodie and Liz Demnar (Harmony) was exceptional. They were there to support us every step of the way. When things got confusing or challenging they were able to provide clarity and explained things in a simple manner. Wayne went above and beyond in helping us throughout the entire process. Liz and Wayne's friendly manner allowed us to feel comfortable and confident in every way. I cant speak highly enough of these two people, and thankyou for all your support. Unfortunately this was not the same feeling from our site supervisor, however the craftsman ship was of a very high standard.

Wonderful new home

We’ve just had our 3rd home completed - this time with Brighton homes. We are extremely happy with the end result. Our supervisor Kris went above and beyond to deliver a quality home and 6 weeks early! Kris was extremely helpful and had great communication which is always important. All the Brighton team were good with communication.
Kris has also been extremely helpful after handover with a few minor issues outside of anyone’s control. Couldn’t ask for a better supervisor and we love the way our home looks - thank you to everyone at Brighton

Questions & Answers

What KW system does Brighton provides for Ducted Aircon for a single story house as its not clearly mentioned in the website and brochure?

There is no standard KW for the aircon on single or double as it's governed by the size of the plan. You might have a 180sq compared to 350sq single story house. They run through Actron Air and depending on Promo they will have some details listed in there small print. Our promo stated options for a 3 phase system but when we come to sign it was only single phase for our size of house and we upgraded the system too so we could have spearate rooms. Ours is a 14.6kw if that helps a little.Thanks Booke appreciated your response.

What is the defect warranty timeframe with Brighton?

Our warranty timeframes vary depending on which aspect of the build it is in relation to e.g. appliances, structural etc. In regards to the Defect Period for Brighton Homes, it is 12 months and that covers warranty for most of the minor defects / repairs from Practical Completion.
