Hi. My wife had the DR750G-2CH Pro installed in a new car at the start of last year, we have had to sell the car and were wondering what we need in order to install the cameras into a new car. Are the wiring looms and camera mounts avaiable? If so, where can we buy them from?

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Anthony, The cables and mounts are available for this model camera. You will require the Front and Rear mount, the coax cable (rear camera cable) and the hardwiring power cable. Please see the links below for the correct items for your model.

Hello I have a DR750G-2CH dashcam and it stopped working . So Which all models i can consider to buy if i do not want to spend on chnaging the existing wirring? and dont want to spend too much money

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Paul, Unfortunately, the DR750G-2CH does use the old power cable, so this will need to be replaced for the newer model cameras to work. However, the coax cable going from the front to the rear is still compatible. The DR770X-2CH will also use the same brackets you have in the vehicle, the DR970X Plus would require the front bracket to be replaced as well.

We purchased this camera in 2020 and now it's playing up. Can't access the app tried many times. The red light is solid red ans after driving for a while it restarts by itself. I reformatted the card ans update the firmware. The camera and installation was very costly and unfortunately I don't have e the receipt. Can anyone guide me

With my DR750S 2CH, I'm using a Blackvue 32GB Class 10 SD Card, I change it to a Blackvue 64GB Class 3 SD Card, and it's saying SD not compatible? How come?

Was recommended in getting one of these for our emergency vehicles, rather concerned how the customer service to negative reviews has dried up but happy to comment on positive reviews, And the number of negative reviews of late not being addressed. Is this something I am going to regret? I also do NOT want my video's shared to the cloud.

Russell
Russell

Took too long to get help but eventually got most issues sorted. Still records whole journey in 1 minute clips (who has time to download and review so many files?). You don't have to share videos to the cloud; that is optional. The system keeps asking if you want to subscribe to the cloud to store videos. Too gimmicky for my liking. Sorry I bought the system and will not buy another one for our other car. I cannot recommend Blackvue.

BlackVue   DM

Hi Benno, It may be best to remove the units SD card and insert this into a computer. From there you can use the BlackVue Viewer to access your units firmware settings. Under the WiFi tab you can edit or show the current SSID and password the camera is using. Once checked or changed save the settings and insert the SD card back into the camera. When booted try the units settings to establish a WiFi connection.

If the issue persists please let us know what device you are using to connect with the camera.

My DR750S-2CH has suddenly intermitantly powers off and then restarts with the voice of "starting up". This happens every few minutes. I have checked the power supply and reformatted and replaced the SD card, but still does it. As I have two sets of the DR750S-2CH I switched the cameras with the other set from another car and the other one has no problems. Obviously the problem is in the cameras.

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Ian, Thanks for reaching out to us, typically restarting issues are SD card related. However as the issues have persisted with a replacement SD card then it would point towards the camera being the cause of the issue. We would advise following our warranty and returns procedure on the link below, so we can get the issue looked into and resolved. external link

Hi, I have a DR750S installed a year or so. When I switch off the engine the camera would switch off itself and when I restart the engine, it would so likewise. For some reason, now it keeps recording even when I switch off the engine. I can see a green light that keep blinking when the engine is off. Can you help. Thanks Vernon

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Vernon, Thanks for reaching out to us. Are you able to advise how the camera has been installed into the vehicle? Is it going through the cig socket or hardwired? If hardwired please advise what kit was used.

This will give us insight into how the camera should be behaving and we will be able to advise further.

Vernon

Hi Chaim, Thanks for your reply. It has been hardwired using power magic pro.

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Vernon, Thanks for confirming. The green light on the camera would indicate it is in parking mode and still receiving power. If you flick the Power magic pro boot switch in the opposite direction this should stop the unit from receiving power when the cars engine is turned off.

I had a new BLACKVUE DR 900 2CH PLUS fitted to my 2021 Audi RSQ3 yesterday from a trusted dealer who has done heaps of work on my cars over the years but the wifi connection keeps getting kicked because the Audi MMI system over rides the Blackvue. I asked the Australian distributor for advise and he told me to turn off my Bluetooth ? Surly they would know that the Audi’s run via wifi, does anyone else have a solution before I return the camera?

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Mitchell, Are you able to connect to any other available WiFi networks or does the Audi MMI system overwrite that as well? For the camera to be accessible via the BlackVue App the phone will need to stay connected to the BlackVue camera. If you disconnect from the Audi MMI system does the WiFi connect stay connected?

Hi

What is the difference between the dr750g vs dr750x vs dr750s?

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Bd, The DR750G Pro is a 2KQHD@30FPS front camera and 1080P@30FPS rear camera. This model also comes with additional ADAS features such as lane departure and forward vehicle start alarm. This model is also only available in car dealerships.

The DR750X Plus is a 1080P@60FPS front camera and 1080P@30FPS rear camera. This model has a built in hardwiring kit so it can be wired directly to your vehicle.. This model is available from our resellers.

The DR750S is a 1080P@60FPS front camera and 1080P@30FPS rear camera. This model is discontinued and was superseded by the DR750X Plus.

i have had the blackvue dr 70-2ch installed by the dealer on a brand new car. we have 2 drivers one with and iPhone the other an android . Will the camera respond automatically when the alternate phone is introduced to the car and drives off and what happens when both phones are in the car? i maybe naïve and it happens automatically . Look forward to a response.

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hey Michael, Thanks for getting in touch. You can only connect one Wi-Fi device to the camera at any given time - if two phones try to connect to the camera's Wi-Fi simultaneously, the camera will voice an error message "Direct Wi-Fi already in use".

You will need to disable the "auto-join/connect" to the BlackVue Wi-Fi network on one or both of the phones to avoid this conflict. You will only need to manually connect your phone's Wi-Fi to the camera when you want to retrieve footage off the microSD card or change any settings.

Hopefully this makes sense but please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Can you change the recording time from one minute to 10 minutes for example?

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Debra, Thanks for reaching out to us. The DR750S-2CH system can be changed to 1, 2 or 3 minute recordings. This can be done in the firmware settings located under Basic -> Recording -> Video Segment length. If the option is grayed out Please lower your 'Image Quality' setting to 'Highest'. If there is any issues please let us know.

Well, that’s a shame. I wish I asked the question before purchasing (2 units) ☹️I’m now having to download up to 10 recordings for a police report. I’m not sure these units are for us.

The Reviewer

Obviously it didn’t work as there is no 10 minute setting (in either model) as originally advised. But correct…you should have asked the company directly or checked the basics/manual before purchasing rather than ask in a review site.

Please share what units do 10 minute recordings. Thanks

Does the blackvue dr750s record to cloud via wifi? And where can I back footage upto?

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi George, The BlackVue systems will always record to the SD Card being used with the unit. When the camera has connected to the cloud network then you would be able to manually save files for cloud storage. For the camera to connect to the cloud platform it will require the login details for an in range internet access point. If you have any further queries please let us know.

Hi Bd, The DR750G is a dealership exclusive model that needs to be hard wired with the Power Magic Pro. This unit records in 1080P front and rear with 60fps on the front camera. The DR750X is available through retail stores and has its own built in hard wiring kit, so the Power Magic Pro is not required. This unit also records in 1080P front and rear with 60fps on the front camera.

Hi,

I have had my camera for 8 months and recently is starts up saying “initialising as card” “do not do not turn off the power (or something like that)” and the restarts. This continually happens. I changed from the sd card I got with it (BlackVue) to another brand name and it worked for about a month now it’s started up again looping. I reinserted the original sd card with no luck. The camera is powered via hard wired into the car with supplied kit by a professional.

What can I do?

Hi Adrian, Thanks for reaching out to us. It does sound like there is an issue with the BlackVue SD card with your system. We would advise reaching out to our support team on the email below so that this can be replaced under warranty. support@blackvue.com.au

Hi,

I installed this camera a while ago and it was working perfectly. Recently I went on an off-road 4wd trip and during the trip, the camera would randomly say "powering down" and turn off, then reboot with the usual "blackvue for your safe driving starting normal recording". At other times it says "restarting" and then goes through the same process. It seems to be at random intervals too. I've tried updating firmware and also formatting the sd card. I'm using the supplied sd card along with a power magic pro. Any advice?

BlackVue
BlackVue   DM

Hi Anthony, Thanks for reaching out to us. Hearing the prompts "Powering down" and "Restarting" would usually indicate two separate things occurring. The camera announces "Powering down" when there has been a disruption of power flow to the system. Did this prompt occur multiple times while driving? If so we would advise checking the PMP harness and ensuring that all wires a fastened and secured.

As for the "Restarting" prompt, the most common cause for this would be a faulty or faulting SD Card. However in rare cases it can even be the camera itself. Do you have an alternate SD Card (even 3rd party) that can be temporarily used with the system to see if the same issue occurs?

Please let us know

Best regards, Chaim BlackVue Australia

Anthony D.
Anthony D.

I forgot to mention I'm using a PMP set to 12V and 12 hours. The harness is nice and secure, and the wiring has been hard wired with fuse taps. The off road trip was quite bumpy, I thought potentially the camera had made too many event videos and that could have damaged its operation? I'll try with a generic sd card and see how I go.
