I am also sorry that I can not replace the cavity of the oven on such a good albeit very expensive stove. I did take a five (5) year extended warranty which expired December, 2019 and undoubtedly the hole in the cavity would have been well and truly there then. I just did not get down on my hands and knees and see it until I checked out why the element had fallen down. So much for paying many extra dollars for German quality!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am researching the HCA one from today too and have also discovered the HCE one reviewed on this site. The discontinued HCE one seems to not be as versatile on the induction hob as the HCA has a combi zone on the left which can accommodate an oblong pot or 2 regular circular ones. The drawer front has also changed - not sure if this change is functional or just aesthetic? Still assessing this model and trying to find which other brands offer a 60cm freestanding induction cooker.

You need to press and hold key symbol until key symbol disappears. On mine I have to press quite firmly. Hope that works for you.

Actually ours did this! This might be the quirk I couldn't find covered in the manual. Sometimes the oven is switched off at the wall (maybe after an error) when the door is in lock mode, once turned back on the clock will show 12:00 and the door won't unlock by pressing the key button. You just need to change the time on the oven, I think by pushing the clock button then spinning the dial. It should then be able to be unlocked. I think this was the fix! These were the instructions I left for our tenants so please let me know if it works! Otherwise maybe try to figure out the model number and you can generally find pdf manuals online.

Go for Belling, wish I had. The ones I've seen have the two elements you can join and make large. A very versatile use. With bosch the induction top is sooo sensitive and painful!

Wish you the best of luck with customer support. I didn't have any luck with my complaint. You learn the hard way and as I have said to Bosch I will never buy a Bosch product again. Just purchased a new washing machine and it wasn't a Bosch.

BOSCH here is my reference number. 970090962 Your first preferred repairer claimed they don't come past new norfolk (I'm another 20 minutes up the road) this has caused me so much stress!! Harvey Norman kindly chaises you guys up only to tell me it's been referred to ABC. Electrical in Moonah and that they would ring me that afternoon or following morning (Tuesday / Wednesday) I never heard from them. Harvey Norman rang me back Wednesday night and said they're waiting to hear when a "service person" can get to us ! WE LIVE AN HOUR OUT OF HOBART IM NOT ASKING THEM TO COME FROM DEVONPORT. need I mention the fact we had planned to host Christmas lunch at our house for our family this year which is now up in the air !! I went to the Cambridge store to look at the induction model on display and my oven is definitely a dud in concerns to the door so instead of FN around why not get a new barsted here and installed and stop wasting everyone's time. I'll never buy Bosch again

UPDATE: I rang abc electrical myself just now, pleaded my case and after a chat they're sending someone to look at it Monday night to check it out. It shouldn't be my job to chase everything up. If you going to sell a product you need to stand by it and the customers! I get times are busy but aren't we all !

Hi Hanna, Thanks for your question regarding the difference between the Bosch HCE858451A Oven and the Bosch HCE854451A Oven. The Bosch HCE854451A Oven is exclusive to Harvey Norman and has a ceramic cooktop. The Bosch HCE858451AU Oven has an induction cooktop instead of a ceramic cooktop.

Hi Muppet, Thanks for your questions regarding the Bosch HCE858451A free-standing cooker. The oven does have a childproof lock that prevents children from switching it on or changing an operation that is already in process, it also has the option to lock oven door when the temperature of the cooking compartment reaches approximately 50 degrees. Please see page 19 of the user manual on how to activate the child lock here: external link  under the Additional Documents Tab.

The cooktop however does not come with a child lock,

In regards to the CoolTouch Door, although it will keep the glass cooler than most ovens, we do not recommend that children touch the oven while it is in operation.

Same thing with our oven...Defect. Bosch really don't give a care when it comes to fixing problems....will not be purchasing another Bosch product again.

I haven't had a problem with my Bosch oven, so I have not needed to deal with them post sale.
