Bosch Hot Water & Heating HydroPower 13H Questions & Answers
VerifiedInstalled a new 13H, gas inlet pressure is perfect at 1.15 but I have zero Burner gas pressure . Commissioning doesnt say anything about this so I assume its a fault with the new appliance. I noticed the gas regulator was a bit sticky but that's fine now. Anyone had this issue and sorted it?
have pilot light but no gas flow.have gas full and on
Hi, we have 13H system and the problem is the temp keeps fluctuating from hot to cold, water pressure is consistent.
There's no real fix you can do yourself for this. Need to get a plumber to see if there are parts that can be easily replaced, but based on my experience with it, once it starts doing this it's basically toast.
thanks Gav, what do you recommend i replace it with
Hi I have Bosch 13P hot water system. Every time i turn any tap on to hot water, hot water system mskes hammering noise. I tried changing few taps and valves. But noise is actually from the hot water system . Nyone knows how to fix it ???
I have a Rheem instant gas and have similar issue - it makes a banging/clicking noise when hot water is turned on too. Please update and share if issue is resolve.
I have a Bosch WR 325-1 If I reduce the water pressure to increase heat the flame burners go out. Can't get any hot water. Please help anyone.
Call a plumber... it sounds like a gas fitter job.

how to clean water valve on a hydro power 13 H
Our Bosch 13 ignites but the gas is not spreading so as to light up properly
This is because the system is not detecting sufficient flow of water. Turn the tap to max - if this does not work, then turn the tap off, wait 1 minute and turn it on to max as fast as you can... wait 60 seconds - watch as the system which claims to have a good energy rating wastes water.... if this does not work then turn all off again...
wait a minute - then turn on tap to max very quick - then go to another hot water tap and turn that one on as well to max.... - if this does not get you hot water then your water pressure is either not enough or your system is stuffed.
Do not try to turn the cold on at the same time until you have the hot working - and even when the hot works - be careful turning on the cold depending on your tap or shower attachments as this may slow the flow of hot enough to make the system shut down the burners again.
Sit back and watch your water bill and gas bill go through the roof even though these systems claim to be energy efficient.... obviously only under lab conditions with the perfect pressure.
Your other option is to take the cover off. There are two user adjustable settings (at least on my 16H) - one shows 1 to 3 flame symbols - this is for adjusting the temperature from low to high flame... this can be increased for hotter water - but this is not your issue - you are not getting enough gas to light the main jets, only the pilot light...
the second adjustment is a knob below the slider - this adjust the flow of gas in general - turn this to max - get some one inside to turn on hot water to full - watch and see if it now lights.
if this worked you may then need to turn it back a little and or adjust the slider so that your hot water when it actually works is not dangerously hot.
How do you restart the pilot light?
You don't. When you turn the water on it spins a small generator that ignites the gas. These font have a pilot light.
Purchased 08/2012, have already replaced the diaphragm twice. (Part # 1318116) Now the unit will start, heat and operated for only a few minutes, Max 5, before the gas shuts down and flames out. Will restart but goes out after 10 -15 seconds. What is my next [art to replace. Wayne
Hi Wayne, could you kindly get in touch with us at 1300 30 70 37 any time between 7:30AM to 6PM (AEDT) on a weekday, so we can better assist you with replacing parts for your unit.
how do you turn hot water temperature up
Sorry but the unit is rubbish, I have had three plumbers in to try and get hot water but all say there is nothing they can do. They have contacted the Bosch technical team and spoken to them while they were here and the answer by the technical side was there was nothing more that could be done. The unit is useless.
We cannot turn the temperature up more than maximum on the unit, I have a shower on full heat! We have to turn the tap on a number of times to get the heater to work. I will never buy another Bosch product.
Hi Richie, thanks for your question. Please be informed that a few alterations can be made to increase the hot water temperature. Inside the unit there are 2 temperature adjustments that can be made: a slide control that controls the gas burner and a round dial on the water valve. Slide the control to the right to increase the burner and temperature, you can also turn the round dial clockwise to increase the temperature.
If these are already set to the maximum settings, then a service is required. Services are recommended every 2 years. If you need assistance with getting in touch with an approved service agent, please call us at 1300 30 70 37 any time between 7:30AM and 6PM (AEST) on a weekday.
Hmmm - interesting - mine doesn't go beyond 40.5C after max adjustment. Funny that sales don't mention the 2 yearly service charge when discussing the cost-benefits of these units. Solar panels and heat-pump are looking a whole lot more affordable now...
Hi we have the hot water system listed in other question. Problem is: all burners are lit and stay lit but water doesn't get hot, only lukewarm. It is fed from gas bottles. System is around 4 years old. Have checked and there doesn't seem to be any blockages. Carrie-Ann

No hot water. Looks like pilot light is out. How do you relight it and do you think that will be all that is wrong?
Not familiar with the model. The H for Hydroflo in the model name usually means it has a Water Wheel igniter (no pilot light). I'd be calling who ever installed it to check out the electrics and the gas flow.
I don't know who installed it but would a gas plumber/fitter know?
Hi Ann, as Peter mentioned, there is no pilot light for this type of unit. If you follow the steps mentioned in the answer to your other question and it does not trigger your ignition, please get in touch with us at our toll-free number 1300 30 70 37. Our team is available from 8am to 6pm (AEDT) during the weekday and we will be able to put you in touch with a Bosch recommended service agent.
How do you light the pilot light
Hi Ann, as it a HydroPower unit and therefore an electronic ignition system, there is no pilot light. We recommend ensuring that all your hot water taps are off before turning one tap back on at full flow. If this does not trigger your ignition, please isolate the valves at the unit for twenty seconds before re-opening them and trying the steps above again. If this does not work, please get in touch with us at 1300 30 70 37 from 8am to 6pm (AEDT).

No ignition gas supply, could be it be low?
I've been having a problem with my HydroPower 13.. The pilot flame works and the gas burner comes on fine but only last for about 20 seconds and then goes out. On the Green/ Red light panel.. the Red comes on when the Pilot is activated but I don't see the Green light coming on. Any help?
Probably a dirty pilot jet. Remove the little aluminum pipe to pilot piezo. Its got brass 10mm nuts. Be careful the jet does not get lost it is at the top of pipe. Remove the jet (its as big as a babies fingernail) blow through it and wipe it in your shirt. Its the tiniest little hole and gets wax from dirty gas stuck in it.
Put it back in and refit pipe. Try that.
Thanks for the thought Bog Balls. The pilot flame seems to be OK.. the main burner lights up ok... but then dies out after heating for around 20 seconds.
I have the same problem. Did you find a answer mate
Yep.. the HW people replaced the Control box ($220) and Flame Sensor ($65) + Call out fee and all is running sweetly.
