Another great product by BOSCH – I am very impressed with my new washing machine. After comparing features this one stood out. The water efficiency of a larger machine was very important. Another reason behind my decision was that it was manufactured and engineered in Germany as they have an excellent reputation. The pause and add or retrieve feature has been wonderful and very user friendly. It is very quiet in operation. The was washing result is very clean, follow the guide and it never disappoints. An unexpected bonus was that even though being of a larger capacity, the Bosch was smaller in external dimensions by a couple of mm and fits better into my laundry configuration. I kept the instructions handy for the first few washes but now I don’t need it.

Purchased in at E & S for $1,100.

Simply works as promised – Bought this to replace an old Westinghouse top loader. This front loader is quiet and works like a dream. Great panel interface that's simple and intuitive. I've always found Bosch appliances to be reliable and well designed. This washing machine is no exception. Show details ·  1

Love our new Bosch washing Machine – We bought a new Bosch washing machine 9KG SERIES 8 F/L WH (WAW28420AU) to replace our old Bosch. We love our new machine, purchased at a great price through Appliances Online super fast delivery and they take the old one away and connect the new one can’t ask for more than that very happy.

Great machine let down by the touchscreen – We have had this machine for four years and while it cleans well, the touchscreen hasn’t worked properly for ages. Try to change the temp and it just cycles through the options. Change the delayed start button and it switches spin speeds. It’s ridiculously sensitive (or sometimes completely unresponsive) and just a really poor design, and… Read more

particularly frustrating because we bought this model due to it being made in Germany, mistakenly thinking this would be better quality. It’s very disappointing.

If you want a quiet machine, this machine is for you! – Such a beautiful quality machine, looks nice and sounds quiet I sometimes forget I have a load of washing on! It leaves clothes crispy, smelling fresh and clean. I wish I bought it earlier, it’s much quieter than my dryer! Show details

Game changer for our household! – Changing our laundry set up from a top loader to a front loader was a big decision for our household (I'm 6'3" and currently pregnant). A lot of thought went into whether it would be right for us especially as we wanted to invest in a heat pump dryer to stack on top of the washer. Let me just say, what a great decision it was!! Time spent… Read more

loading the laundry is next to nothing and not a problem if you sort it all out beforehand, water use is minimal which is fantastic, the spin cycle is fast and does a wonderful job in extracting the water compared to our old top loader.

All in all I'm really impressed with this machine. There is a wonderful array of cycle options from hot to cold, dedicates to hard wearing fabrics. Plus this machine is made in Germany which is another big plus for us.

Door Seal Gasket – We purchased this brand new machine in June 2022 which is still under warranty and we also paid for the 3 year care plan. Couple of weeks ago noticed water leaking from the front door panel. On close inspection noticed that the rubber door seal gasket has torn. We called Bosch service and were advised that this not a manufacturing fault and… Read more

not covered under warranty. A technician would come at a charge of $140.00 for 30 minute consultation and $10.00 every 10 minutes and we will have to pay for the part.

The last machine we had lasted us for 12 years and we have never had such an issue, so potentially the issue is that Bosch is installing substandard parts and now we have to fork out money on a machine that is just about 7 months old.

The below survey wants me to rate value for money. I have selected terrible given that I continue to spend money on this machine even though its under warranty and I have paid for extended care plan.

So much for the Bosch brand!

So Glad I bought BIGGER! – I bought this 9kg machine at a time when Bosch washing machines were in short supply in Sydney. My old AEG machine had broken down in the middle of 3 weeks of constant rain. The washing was piling up and I was getting desperate. I've bought Bosch appliances before and have never been disappointed with quality or function, so when I found a 9kg… Read more ·  1

machine available locally, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. This front loader is awesome! It's ridiculously quiet and has a multitude of choices when it comes to washing cycles. The washing cycles are shorter than in my previous machine, but the washing comes out perfectly clean. I can fit a whole week's clothing into the machine in one go. All my sheets and towels will fit into another load. The door opening is huge, which makes loading and removing of washing really easy. I love the aqua stop function, which ensures that the tap will never leak. I have no drain in the floor where the machine is situated, so this was a definite deciding factor for me in choosing this brand and model of washing machine. The silent overnight wash is magnificent - I don't hear anything at all, even though my house is small. Some blankets and bedding also fit into this larger 9kg machine, which will make it a very useful and versatile product for future washing.

My new favourite – Extremely quiet, very good at getting dirt/gunk out, has a short and long setting to ensure things can make it to the line quickly, or you need something to wash for ages while you're out of the house (this uses less energ. (as I have always heard front loaders weren't great/slow) which isn't the case. My only negative is the multiple setting and special buttons like 'iron safe' are just unnecessary. After a month you realise everything can just be set to auto cotton and you adjust temp and spin cycles based on what youre washing. Also note I always turn down the spin cycle to ensure longevity of the motor (I.e. never works 100% and thus theoretically has an easier life) and I always wash on the hottest setting for towels without fabric softener to remove residue build-up. The thing only connects to cold water as it's got a built in water heater which was a surprise. That was an unexpected bonus as I have people wanting hot showers at the same as the washing being put on. I think it has reduced our power bill, but that's hard to confirm as I now perminantly work from home more than I did before (thanks covid)

Not fit for purpose – Purchased this 9kg washing machine and after nearly 12months it blew the door open and damaged the machine making it unusable. the run around and no one can really give you a good reason as to why they won't accept that this is a machine fault. Washes well but can take forever – This machine does not adjust cycle time to the load size. The first day I got it I did a larger load as soon as I turned it on and then did a smaller load. The large load, without realising it, was done at the factory setting, which is the half load speed wash setting, and the smaller load I did on the eco setting. The smaller load would have… Read more

been lucky to be 1-2kg and took the full 3.47. I can’t understand that a brand that is apparently one of the best on the market, doesn’t have a machine adjust its wash cycle time by load weight. At least I haven’t found a load setting that does yet. I couldn’t believe in a time when we all try to shop eco and enviro aware that this machines factory setting is not the economical and environment friendly setting. I feel like I’ve paid a 9kg price and only got half that because you rarely use the eco setting because who wants a load to take 3hours 47minutes every time. Yes it’s quiet and cleans and spins really well and I don’t find the end cycle sounds annoying as some others have. It does do a really good job of washing the towels we use on the dog beds. The drum clean cycle does a really good job and is especially noticeable after doing animal bedding. I don’t think I would have bought this machine if I’d realised wash cycles don’t adjust their time as I don’t feel it lives up to it’s apparent eco and enviro ratings. I don’t feel the company is really encouraging users to be enviro or eco friendly given the factory setting isn’t this setting. If you don’t mind up to 9kg load that takes 3hours 47minutes or always doing a half load that takes about an hour then this machine could be for you but don’t buy it thinking you’ll always be doing a full 9kg wash in a reasonable amount of time.

Loud and leaking only a few months old – Unfortunately this washer is a lemon. It is extremely loud on the water intake and also when it spins. Just recently it's begun to intermittently leak water from underneath and just this evening… Read more

decided it didn't want to spin the washing leaving me to hand wring a full load with arthritic hands. I've contacted e&s who have logged the fault with bosch. Am currently waiting for a service call. Regretting buying this machine and would like a refund or replacement. Also nervous about another 4 bosch products I've bought and put aside for our new build. I don't feel the quality is there anymore and had I known it would be this terrible I would have gone with a different brand. I would steer clear. Last bosch I had lasted almost ten years. This one less than six months. Just wish I hadn't spent over 12k on all the other appliances for our new place. I'm worried they will be lemons too.

Disappointed – This is my third Bosch w/machine so I obviously have been happy with them. Have always bought the German made one. Bought it in January 2022. This new machine is quiet & easy to use & has lots of great features but I'm so DISAPPOINTED with the spin cycles. With the last two machines I've been able to use the 800rpm for our good clothes on a gentle… Read more

cycle & they've always been perfect. In this one I used the 800rpm & I couldn't believe how creased the clothes were. My husbands Microfibre shorts which have never needed ironing were so creased I even had trouble ironing them. Even if I spin on 400rpm they still come out creased. Shirts that had polyester in them came out creased. If I spin out bed sheets out on 800rpm they're really creased. One of the reasons I bought my first one of these was because there was never fluff on the clothes. Now I also get fluff on dark colours. I'm very fussy with washing & never overload the machine or put towels etc with other clothes. I'm so upset & disappointed with this machine. I wish I'd never bought it or bought the Chinese one like my daughter did. She's happy with it & never has any creasing problems. Wouldn't recommend buying this model to anyone.

Good purchase, can be noisy – Good machine for a front loader. I use everyday cotton cycle most of the time and Ive noticed that stains do disappear without using additional products (stain removers). Happy with the machine overall, it can be too nosy on the spinning cycle though. Show details

Quiet and quick – Purchased due to recommendation of a work colleague, and the 4.5 star energy and water ratings. moving bolts but packed in items when moving and it works just fine. This is a quiet machine that doesn't shake too much on spin cycles so you can keep items on top without them rattling around and falling off. I remember doing a lot of research into the country of origin but couldn't afford the model made in Germany. As with all products nowdays this would seem to be one of the more important features with respect to longevity.
