Purchased a Bosch Series 8 heat pump tumble dryer, after doing a lot of research. One of the main reasons we picked this brand and model was due to it's reverse cycle ability during drying bed sheets etc, which means it is supposed tumble for a while in one direction, then reverse and tumble in the opposite direction. This stops the sheets etc from ending up in a small ball if continuous in one direction only. Well... what a stupid waste of computer programming. On that cycle, it rotates about 20 times in one direction, then about half a drum turn in the opposite direction only. This means every time we try to dry bed sheets, they ALWAYS end up in a ball, not dried. Contacted Bosch (within the first few weeks of buying the machine). They didn't know what we were talking about. They said they would get someone from Bosch to ring. That was more than a month ago. Have given up trying to get a response or service call. Don't waste your time and money on this machine. After sales service is crap
Follow-up · Whilst this dryer is very good generally at dryng clothes and VERY cheap to run, don't use it or buy it if you intend to use it to dry bed sheets. The programming is useless . Customer service from Bosch is non existent even after numerous contacts

We have a home battery and a reasonable amount of solar panels, but when the sun is not shining, we want to dry our clothes and not eat into the battery. Previous dryer was a traditional Asko, about 12 years old, it had issues and we purchased the Bosch. Asko 1800W vs Bosch 300W! Sure it takes longer to dry the clothes, but the clothes come out softer and there is way less lint. These days, when the sun is not shining that bright, we chuck the clothes into the dryer, its so cheap to run. Amazing purchase.

Extremely happy- great product, just follow the rules – So happy with this product! I researched for months and went back and forth due to negative reviews I had read but I’m glad I took the leap and got this as it’s brilliant. 1. So much quieter than the old types which by the way will be phased out in the next 2-3 years I was told. 2. Don’t over fill it. Yes, the drum may be large but that is to allow air to flow not to fill up. 3. Stop using a low spin cycle in your washer. If you are putting something in the dryer use the highest spin speed on your washer. People who complain the washing is still wet after 3 hrs in dryer are either using a low spin cycle or putting too much in. 4. Sheets can tangle yes, but you only have to untangle them one or twice and it’s not a big deal. Or just put them in one at a time. 5. Length of cycles- yes, it can originally show 3-4 hrs as the time the cycle will take but if you follow all the rules I’ve found it generally takes way less as it is able to detect when they are finished. I’ve had sheets show as 3 hrs and they were done in 40 minutes. 6. No more condensation or excessive heat in the laundry which helps with mouldy areas/locations especially when we get lots of storms etc. 7. The price did put me off at first but I use this way more than my old style one as I’m not afraid to put items such as delicates etc in it anymore and as it’s quieter I use it of a night when I’ve been too busy or it’s raining. 8. The contours take a little to get used to but once you use it and know what they are all are it’s easy. 9. The light. When you open the door a light comes on inside. When I saw this in the store I thought”who on earth needs a light in the dryer?” Well, after using it I wa actually surprised at how handy it actually is especially if look in for something in particular.
Overall it is a great machine and I would highly recommend.

Noisy, poor customer service, OK performance – This is my 2nd Bosch heat pump dryer and I am disappointed, more to that later. I like the program flexibility and the informative display panel which shows recommended weight and time. The options are easy to use. Bosch heat pump dryers have always been with no reverse tumble which has hasn't been an issue for regular washing but bed sheets got tangled up frequently. On this model, the reverse tumble works well for Bed Sheets but note I have found it is not available on other programs but I do not see this as an issue as other washing do not get tangled and dry evenly.
What I like about this model is when the door is opened it doesn't forget where the timer was up to, great if you need to adjust the load mid drying. I also like the Half Load option which helps the dryer know what type of load is inside. I also like that the standard heat setting doesn't get super hot, so it seems normal heat is like low heat on other brand dryers, this requires less adjustment and helps protect the clothes.
I have tried Down Wear menu item and it had amazing results for my puffer jacket. Magic!
Other programs besides Cotton and Down Wear I have tried have had mixed sensor performance, meaning the laundry was dry and still a substantial amount of time on the display and it wasn't not adjusting the time down, wasting electricity. I put my gym gear in using the SportsWear program and found it was dry but still had a lot of time left to run, so glad I felt the washing. A similar experience with towels, 1hr left to run and the towels were dry. I am disappointed with the sensor performance, similar experience on the last Bosch heat pump dryer I had.
So, why did I rate this machine as 2 star? Well, it's woeful Bosch customer service. When the machine was installed, the installer turned the machine on to see if it was working OK and instantly I noised a a thud thud thud noise as the drum rotated and the vibration transferred through the machine to the top panel and there was a noisy and irritating vibration. This is my 2nd Bosch heat pump dryer and this was not a normal sound. I immediately stopped the machine and spoke with the store and they confirmed it wasn't normal, they spoke to their Bosch rep and nothing happened. I called Bosch and they tried to tell me it was an installation issue and the dryer had transit bolts which needed to be removed......this turned out to be completely incorrect information. I then had to wait 2 weeks for the Bosch technician to come out, meanwhile, I was completely scared of using the machine so I didn't......so inconvenient when I have no other drying options and had to go to a relatives place to wash. The Bosch technician said the drum sits on rollers which had deformed due to length of time from manufacturing to delivery and would order more and another top panel. 1 month later, still no word from Bosch. I called again and they said they would send out the technician, I asked if they would bring the parts they said yes.......the technical arrived with no parts. So, in total, thus far it has been 6 weeks and I have an expensive dryer that is noisy and I have little hope it will be resolved. At no point even upon installation did Bosch offer to replace the item. Another annoying aspect is they ask the owner to remove the dryer from the Bosch stacking kit, the dryer is very very heavy and is not a 1 person job and I live alone, when I explain this they begrudgingly say they will do it but not without a guilt trip.
Over the past years I have bought 3 Bosch washers, 2 dryers plus cooktop and vacuum and when things needed replacing I would walk into the store and ask for another Bosch. No longer. The service is so woeful, I would not recommend Bosch without considering other options available because when things go wrong Bosch customer service is lacking and the service level is not comparable to the price being paid. There is a genuine apathy towards the customer. The call staff do not appear to know their product as I have been given incorrect information.
In summary, a high priced machine, average performance end and customer service you would expect when buying the cheapest model on the market.
Good - but not excellent – Firstly once again Appliances Online delivered a brilliant service, as always. I am very impressed with all the drying options - even able to dry our riding and gym gear easily. I did not give this 5* as the Woollens basket attachment which was optional leave a lot to be desired. I will write a separate review on it, as I don't want to detract from the dryer, which is great.
