We bought this dryer because Bosch generally has a good reputation. However, the dryer doesn't dry anything, or if it does it takes more than half a day on average. Everything has a damp-fabric odour as a result. We're only drying basic household stuff - clothes, bedding, towels, etc. generally dried with like items. I've gone through all the troubleshooting and instructions in the manual, making sure the filters are always clean and water tray is empty, etc. Nothing seems to work. Very disappointing considering the cost of the product.

WQG24201AU be very careful to check that your Bosch dryer has a reverse cycle for untangling bed linen. Brought Jan 2025. Didn’t think to check. Doesn’t ever dry the sheets or Doonah cover correctly even after two hours as it just ties everything into a knot. Sometimes it’s so tight I don’t even have strength to untangle. I haven’t brought a new dryer in years so didn’t think to ask, just assumed in 2025 it’s a necessary function. Will be dumping this and buy a Miele instead. Extremely disappointed.

Bosch agreed to replace this dryer and did so. The dryer they replaced it with has a faulty condenser pump that doesn't drain to the sink, just the tank. 4 separate technicians sent from Bosch claimed to have fixed it, and didn't. One replaced a faulty pump and still was baffled it wouldn't work. Bosch then claimed it wasn't faulty - but they would credit the dryer (not the washing machine as not faulty) I am now left with having to buy another dryer, to try and get it to stack on a different brand washer and have mismatched items in the laundry. Am appalled that BOSCH wash their hands of this, but after seeing all the poor reviews I guess their quality isn't what people think it is.

Extremely energy efficient and does the job pretty well. It has extra drying settings for cottons where you can add +1 hor or two, to make sure they are super dry. Reduced amount of lint being thrown away which is good for clothes. Super happy with the operation.

The drain pipe is a bit of a letdown. Its a different size and an adapter needs to be purchased separately. Else your left with emptying the container every time. I just went with a plumbing adapter and a bush to make a manual T joint. But why would you make it an awkward size and ask to purchase adapters?

Follow-up  · The cotton plus 1 setting takes care of any load. It doesn't have a sensor which is not ideal. But unlike a vented drier it doesn't burn or toast the fabrics. So no complaints on performance. The waste tube Y adapter SHOULD have been provided with the purchase. Its silly to fork out $80 for that, when its a required component of the product.

WORST PURCHASE EVER! BUYER BE WARE, I have several Bosch products, but this, worst purchase I have made. This 9kg heat pump dryer takes 5hrs to dry flannette sheets, I contacted Harvey Norman in Belconnen to return the day I purchased this machine to complain about the time it takes to dry clothes, spoke to proprietor who got in touch with the Rep who suggested a particular cycle, didn't work. Should not take 5hrs to dry sheets or clothes, could not possibly be economical if using power for that long. DONT BUY, WASTE OF MONEY will cost you more in power bills.

Do not buy unless you want to take over 5 hours to “half dry” a load of washing. It seems the only way to shorten the time at all is to use the timed setting, so the advantage of sensing when dry is lost, and it is still excessively slow. Customer Care "don’t care". They’ll book a technician, who’ll tell you it’s not faulty as “it’s an economy product” and charge you for the service call. It is an attractive unit, and appears to be reasonably quality built, but has serious design flaws. • The drum does not reverse, so will “wind up” sheets etc • Other reviews state that there is an issue with lint blocking a filter that requires a service call. I haven’t got to that yet. • The dial has multiple settings that appear to only predict different finishing times. I expected better from Bosch.

Update: Bosch Customer Care eventually did kindly agree to send a technician out, who ran extensive tests and confirmed everything was working as it should. He suggested generally using the "cupboard dry plus +3" setting. Also, if using "time to dry" setting, ensure that the time selected is long enough as the warmup time is quite long (maybe about 10 mins). So selecting say 20 mins and items are not dry, another 20 min and they're still not dry, then another 20 minutes has given maybe 30 mins of actual heat drying, rather than setting a time of 60 mins giving a drying time of around 50 mins.

Most of the other settings are Autodry, but only a different prediction of the time it will take! Heat is the same and dryness level depends on the cupboard dry selection.

The first thing the technician did was to check the lint filter and exclaimed "this is a problem"! But it was the lint from one load of towels! I empty it just about every time.

So overall I am still left with long drying cycles that are going to wear my laundry.

I might give the machine 3 stars now!

Note the “time to dry” scenario above for 60 minutes is what I’ve used when clothes are only slightly damp. They’ve been on the line, or the iron dry setting was used.
