Great Machine – We have had this model, which I understand has now been discontinued for over 10 years. It was been subjected to a relocation after around 7. Other than some recent drainage problems it has functioned perfectly. I have always been careful to ensure it is kept clean and maintained in accordance with the manual. A recent phone call to the Bosch… Read more · 1
customer service line was answered promptly, with the technician (Tom) most helpful. All is good and I am hopeful of many more years of good service from it.
I expected quality and durability with my machine – HI, I had my machine for 8.5 years. I must say that we never had problems with it. But now it suddenly made noise during washing and started to trip the fuse the verdict was repair between $600 and $1200 For a machine that has cost me double of another machine, and with such a big name connected to be quality, I expected a life time between… Read more
12 and 14 years. I used to have a bosh years ago when I lived in Europe and I had it for 20 years and it still worked, but that was how machines were build back then, So I am disappointed and so now I just bought the cheapest machine $400 and 5 years warranty, so when it brakes down after 5 years I am still better off than buying a BOSH. And then I have a new machine every 5 years at least, and for less money
Bosh used to be a machine to last, and then I'm willing to pay for it but when machines are build to only last between 6 and 8 years well what's the point. It's a pity they don't make machine like they used too, now everything is made from plastic And the big brands are starting to play the same game, So what's the point to buy a more expensive machine. And my new machine has good reviews so let's see what happens. At least I didn't pay top dollar for it.
What a waste – Unlike some others on here my machine has been fine until recently. The water has begun overfilling and reaches to half way up the door. After some basic troubleshooting it appears to be the pressure switch but this item is no longer stocked by Bosch so for the sake of a $20 part the machine is now a big paper weight. I was going to buy another Bosch but will likely look elsewhere if I cant get basic parts after a few years. Show details
Power over loads, lucky we have an RCD – The running time for a wash takes nearly two hours so we only use the quick wash setting. Only two of us in the house so shouldn't matter how long you have had the machine but the amount you use it. Now cuts out and over loads the fuses on the mains switch. Show details
Great, while it lasted – Got 8 years out of it before the tub bearings failed, seamed like it was out of balance for the last couple of years, used to bang around a lot. Cleaned my clothes quite well, washing two loads a week. The feature I didn't like the most was after starting a wash you can't open the door again until it's finished the wash some hour or so later. I have gone back to a top loader, (Speed Queen.) Show details
perfect washer for 8 years – never had a problem with bosch washer for 8 years. so a little mould on rubbers. but this is going to happen.then it just stops mid cycle and wont spin and barrel wont turn. was ready to kick to kerb and buy a new one.thought might as well google problem. utube video and stepped us through deduction of the obvious. not brocken belt etc. not is… Read more · 1

Triggers short circuit!!! – I have had mould problems in the detergent tray and the rubber door seal from the very beginning, despite the fact that I had always left the door open after each wash and regularly cleaned out the detergent tray. By the reviews I haven't been the only one. However, I now have a serious problem with washing machine where it trips the… Read more
electricity on ALL cycles with the exception of, rinse and drain. The machine does NOT run for more than a few minutes before tripping the electrical fuse.
I inquired about repairing the machine and we were given a quote of $180, which its too bad. But unfortunately this being purchased over 4 / 5 years ago, warranty is expired. Now I wonder if same thing will happen again, after I repair it?!?

Lasted 6 years – When it worked, was a very good machine, quiet, quick. Difficult to stop mould build up in the seal. Leaving door open, drying seal after use wasn't enough. This week it started creating a banging noise. Repairer has come and gone, taking the machine because it's unrepairable (or rather, will cost more to repair than a new model). The ?ball bearings? are broken. Was one year out of a 5 yr warranty.

I thought Bosch would be better than this – To start with, I am reviewing this washer after about 7 years use. It was never great but couldn't justify replacing it. Finally getting rid of it now though. Ours still seems to work for a few Minutes before it triggers the safety switch. Considering everyone gets this problem eventually this is a crazy hazard for Bosch to ignore. Before this… Read more
the problem was the mould in the rubber seal. We always did what was instructed (clean filters and keep door open) but we couldn't stop it forming. This was my first washing machine, but I assume this isn't normal.
Choice seems to recommend LG. can't be much worse than this so will give that brand a chance.
P.s. Hope my Bosch dishwasher doesn't become a hazard too...

Dissapointing, Front Loaders Never again! – Had 2 Bosch Maxx 7kg top loaders in 5 and half years. Same model, both failed with the same problem. Had 6 lightweight business shirts and the load becomes unbalanced. Part that spins (according to repair man) just wears down and breaks off which causes the almighty screech. $900 to repair it as the drum has to be taken out. Bought the next one… Read more
2nd hand, was hardly used as owned by older couple in holiday home. 6 months later same issue. Only used machine weekly for whites and business shirts. My washer also tripped the power when it went to spin. Had to leave the washing there for a couple of hours when it unlocked and I could unload and bail the water out. Not impressed, cannot afford to keep replacing machine. So back to old reliable top loaders.

Fire Hazard! Danger! Washer Turned 6 Years Old And Blew The Fuse To Celebrate – Was a dream, until as many others here has reported, it recently started tripping our safety switch. It is 6 years old and was purchased as a premium washer. Now it trips my safety switch soon as I plug it in - don't even need to have the power on. What if the safety switch has not just recently been installed? I am so disappointed Bosch. My… Read more
family's lives have been placed in serious jeopardy by you!!
Why has this product not been recalled when it is an obvious safety danger.
I really am disgusted to see so many similar comments and concerns, for the same product, in the last few weeks - someone could die!! If you are considering this washer - do not buy it.
My clothes are likely ruined, having been stuck in the machine, full of sudsy, trying to finish its load for 3 days. I cannot even plug it into the wall before it trips the safety now so I cannot get my clothes out.
Reading the reviews, we are lucky to still have our lives and home.
The more I read, the more fearful I am of my washer and other appliances.
Adding to significant fire risk, I also have the black mold issues in the soap drawer and around the seal as reported by others. I feel like I have been taken for a ride Bosch. Stupidly, I upgraded all my appliances over the last few years to Bosch, as I was so impressed initially with my Washer (My first big Bosch purchase).
Am I at ongoing risk of fire as my Bosch appliances place my life in jeopardy as they turn 2, 3, 4, years old? I thought Bosch built machines to last but it seems more and more like they build disposable equipment. Apparently customer lives might be disposable too.

Consistent problem with the spider breaking away from drum! – I've just gone through the list of complaints. And mine too has just done the exact same thing. Broken spider on back of drum. I bought this machine approx 2009 when my (now) wife and I moved out together. Very disappointed. I've checked the Internet for parts and prices and it's going to cost more than paid price to replace the parts. I too, think I will be going with a different brand. Hopefully more reliable

Black mould around front opening & detergent dispencer – When we moved into our brand new house in 2010 we bought a new Bosch Maxx Classic WAE18060AU/11 from Appliances Online. After 2 weeks, I noticed black mould around the front entrance rubber and in the detergent dispenser. I tried to clean it with appropriate mould killing products but the stains remained. I stupidly assumed that the mould was dead… Read more
even though the stains remainend. The mould was getting worse so I kept cleaning it and then leaving the door open between washes to try and stop it from spreading. Apart from the fact that my clothes get dirty when I pull them out of the machine (as it is pretty hard to get the clothes out without touching the rubber) recently, I have learnt that the black mould will remain, regardless of the cleaning, and that it is highly toxic to people! I also found out that there is a class action in relation to this in America. I have now found out that my professional tennis career ending sinus problems and illnesses are due to the constant exposure to mould and the only mould we have in this new house has been in the washing machine, which is transferred to all the clothes I wear- everyday! Therefore Bosch, I would like assistance in resolving this problem, asap.
Thank you.

Mine has also died!! – After my seldom used Bosch died last week, I decided to do some research and discovered I'm not alone! Bought new in 2008 for $699, my Bosch is still in great condition, or at least I thought it was!! Last week the inner drum broke away from the spider assembly. This is exactly the same thing that has happened to several other people here! It… Read more
seems to be a design fault and makes this a machine I would never have recommended had I known in the first place! But I bought it at the time based on good performance and Bosch's apparent reliability!! Ha. What a joke!
My machine has been used in a single person household for most of that time, so it has only had light use! This sort of machine failure is completely unacceptable, even more so in an apparently well respected brand!! I'm buying an LG next. Goodbye Bosch!

Catastrophic failure after only 6 years and 10 months – The spider assembly on the rear of the drum has broken. When dismantled I was horrified to see the corrosion, slime and general muck that had clearly been accumulating over a long period. With the damage done to the outer drum the machine is a complete write off. I bought a Bosch thinking I was buying a quality product but after reading many… Read more
similar reviews to this I have come to the conclusion that this machine has built in flaws and planned obsolescence.
The machine was used 2 or 3 times a week and was never overloaded.
A premium product costing $660 (nearly seven years ago) should last longer. In future I will not be paying a premium price for a brand name.

Washing Machine cuts power to house – I purchased this machine about 6 and a half years ago. It has develeoped a fault whereby the power cuts out during the early part of the wash cycle. Luckily, I have a residual current device installed otherwise; it may have caused damage to the house electrical system or caused an injury. I believe that this is a potentially dangerous product and… Read more

Noisy but efficient and cleans well – We have had this machine for almost 6 years now and are very happy with it. It's both water and energy efficient and is also quite sturdy (controls and detergent drawer are made of thick plastic which still looks almost brand new - even the rubber door seals still seem new). Clothes / towels / sheets come out very clean and surprisingly quite… Read more · 1
dry, although sometimes a sock or two gets stuck in the gap between the glass door and rotating part of the machine and comes out wet. The machine takes a few hours on its normal cycle however does sound like a small jet aircraft engine during the spin phase (but minimal vibration, luckily). The buttons and dial are well designed and sturdy, although it would be good to have had a timer function on it to take advantage of off peak electricity rates and have clothes ready to hang out on a morning each weekend. We still like the brand and are glad we purchased this machine!
E2 D error – Reset the error then switched to spin cycle but unit wont spin. Timer counts down and water pump works but drum wont spin. Show reply
Solid Performer – I have owned this for over 7 years now. I use it 2-3 times a week. It has not missed a beat. Gentle on the clothes. easy to clean. My partner says the spin cycle is noisy, but reliability is more important for me. I have owned a top loader Westinghouse before this, but I would definitely vouch for the quality of this wash. Sturdy, quality construction Show reply
Rinse light is on nothing else works – Hi I bought this machine in may 2008 got extended warranty to 5 years guess what barely 1 month out of warranty bloody thing stops the rinse light is on I have turned cycle selector to off turned machine off ect nothing works still rinse light is on was almost 1000 dollars with warranty until now no problems at all but I expected longer out of it Good while it worked Didnt work long enough

Dead after 5.1 years. Obviously designed to fail after warranty time – We bought this machine WAE18060AU in 03/2009 after having had a previous Bosch WM for 15 years prior. We also purchased additional 3 years of warranty to make it 5 years quit. Sure enough this thing died 1 month after. Obviously product quality has gone way down at Bosch and products now appear engineered to die a programmed sudden death. We will… Read more
