Overall a Good Machine :-) – After only ever had top loaders I found this Bosch Logixx 8 VarioPerfect to be quite a good machine....it uses much less water, washes clothes well and has given our family around 6 years of reliable service until today when the endemic door release handle failed due to a badly engineered plastic pivot lug (hidden behind the door cover) snapped… Read more ·  1

off as it obviously became fatigued from levering the die cast aluminium door latch. I repaired this myself (after watching a youtube video - highly recommended for the home handyman) by cutting a very small piece of aluminium angle and screwed it to the door molding to replace the broken piece of plastic. It was a bit fiddly to get the door handle re-positioned after fitting the new lug but perseverance won the day - all good took me 3 hrs as I drained the drum & cleaned the pump/filter, and door casing during the repairs :-) I know people are complaining of wet cloths after a spin cycle but I have found that if the machine can't get a balance, it will avoid shaking the machine all over the laundry floor with the unbalanced drum load & probably taking some fair wear & tear in the process. If you find wet cloths simply select the spin cycle and reduce the load a bit! I watched the machine trying to spin slow at first to expel the water from the centrifugal load before ramping up its speed to then finish the spin cycle - it's actually prolonging the machines life by doing this.Cheers :-)

Confounding door seals/gaskets – Yeap think twice before buying unless U are a handyman or prepared to pay for changing the door seal, ... bought same model cuz of reputation and country of manufacture but as appliance was for our tenants, we bought the washing machine with an extended product care warranty for 60 mths with Harvey Norman (ie 3 yrs extra to original 2 yr warranty)… Read more

for $1780

Purchased in July 2014, tenants moved in Oct 2014, product fault reported Oct 2016 with leaking, appliance has been in use by couple with 2 kids only. Let's see if the new seal will last till my warranty expires in July 2019 - stay tuned .. my insurer was billed $217.40 for the replacement part and $143 for labour by the service company. So much for research and avoiding the other cheaper Bosch models after reading about the flimsy China made plastic bits that break easily. At the time of purchase, there were no negative reviews about this model. Cannot rate this appliance properly as we do not use it. We have a sturdy American made top loader Speed Queen at home and love it. We bought the front loader with the 8 kg condenser dryer WTB86200AU to fit into a compact space. Keeping fingers crossed on the dryer. LET'S SEE IF THE BOSCH OFFICIAL WILL RESPOND TO THE THREE CONSECUTIVE REVIEWS ON DOOR SEALS

Avoid BOSCH front loader with rubber seal – After just 18 mths of use the rubber seal began to perish and mould has grown inside and around the rubber seal. I wish I could post the photos. Now the machine is 2 yrs +2 mths out of warranty and it has started leaking badly and has now stopped spinning. I wish I had purchased the ASKO (with its metal seal system) to avoid this problem. Issues with door and seal after 15 months of use – Extremely disappointed with this purchase. After previously owning a Bosch for 8 years I thought I'd be a loyal customer and replace my washing machine with this model. Brought in April 2015, the rubber seal has torn and mould has stained the inside of the rubber seal. Door gets jammed at times and now after every wash there is water leaking from… Read more

the door. I've even taken out an extended warranty with this unit so I would get at least 5 years out of it. Never buying a Bosch again. Have lost faith in their product and workmanship. Can't even get thru to anyone at Bosch support. Do not recommend a Bosch. Not what they used to be

Short lived love – We loved this model (quiet, solid build) but it started to have problems at 3 years (mainly with the door). We contacted Bosch and the problem was sorted very quickly with Bosch exceeding our expectations. As soon as we raised the issue they were very keen to resolve it. Thanks Bosch!  Show reply

Very disappointed in our Bosch Front Loader Washing Machine – When this Bosch 8kg front load machine (WAS32440AU/07) works it is great. It was purchased from Bing Lee on 14 November 2011 for $1650. In August 2012 it required repair (under warranty) due to a faulty computer mechanism that was causing the machine to rewash clothes, after the final spin cycle had stopped. This was rectified, however the… Read more

same issue occurred again on February 2014 in addition to the front door handle breaking off. We contacted the Bing Lee Alexandria store (from where we purchased it), and they have referred us to Bosch, as it was no longer under manufacturers warranty despite the ACCC advising that the onus is on the original supplier to remedy the situation, regardless of the machine no longer being under warranty as it was reasonable to expect that it will last longer than 27 months. After hours and hours of phone calls, the repair of the control unit was made but the reported door handle was not. As the door can still be opened with a screw driver and the effect the whole warranty claim had on us we have conceded that we are unlikely to ever have the door replaced.

We originally purchased this machine based on other favourable reviews and overall we have been disappointed with both the product (computer and door) and the total lack of after sales care from both Bing Lee and Bosch. On the strength of this, we would not buy a Bosch product again.

Towels dry like sandpaper – We bought this specific Bosch model because the top cover could be removed and installed under bench. It cleans well and is very quiet. On the downside: 1. The ‘quick’ cycle (15 mins) is rough on clothes. 2. Towels dried on the line are like sandpaper. I have tried every program, but it didn’t make much difference. I tried reducing the… Read more

soap powder and adding vinegar, gave it an extra rinse – still didn’t make much difference. I have reduced the spin speed, I have bought new towels. Nothing seems to work. I phoned Bosch Customer Service (operating from the UK) who told me to put it on the Cotton cycle at 60 degrees (2 ½ hrs) and 3 ½ hrs with Eco button pressed. This made it worse - the towels were harder than ever! I am really disappointed with this machine.

My advice is that if you expect the towels to come out soft after drying outside on the line, this is not the machine for you. However, if you want a quiet machine which cleans well, this is the machine for you.

SC: Same as MP; it Rusts! and the door gets jammed! – Our Bosch Washing Machine (WAS32440AU) was fine for the first 3 years and now we keep having problems with the door. It does jam regularly (error code E:57) and the door rusts! $2,000 for 3 years makes it the most expensive machine we've ever owned! I would not recommend this product and its quite deceiving quality for a German brand! I better go back to try and open that door now...

Washing Machine Stopped Working – Had the machine for 2.5 years, was not spinning cloth properly and had someone come out and look at it. They did nothing to fix it after about 6 month started making loud rattling noise and the power cut out from the washing machine. Now not working at all. Customer service don't care at all, paid so much for this machine and only lasted 2 years.

Not very impressed – We have had this machine for 2.5 years. Has washed well and I have been very pleased until about 6 months ago. The seal got a small split in it and began to leak. I ordered a new seal which was AU$150.00. My husband only got around to replacing it about 6 weeks ago. It worked fine and v. happy. Last week I noticed a lot of water on the ground and… Read more

to my horror there were 2 large splits and it is leaking terribly. I haven't even had the heart to tell my husband. I am still using it, but I have to have a towel in front of it (which is sopping after one wash). Considering the machine was worth $2000 and the seal was $150.00 I am very disappointed. It must be a rubbish seal or do I have to load clothes in and out of the machine with a set of tongs, so as to protect this delicate seal which may even split if I was to do a large sneeze? Sorry washing machines have to be more durable than this.

Poor customer service from Bosch – After an awful lot of research, we bought a Bosch 32440AU. Our old LG had died and we needed a replacement, so instead of trying to replace rubbish with more rubbish, we paid almost $900 extra for a better machine. It had great reviews, is German-made and washes clothes beautifully. For 10 months, it has happily hummed along for our large family… Read more

and I have told everyone I know how brilliant it was. Then the door locked halfway through a cycle 3 weeks ago, with a set of QS sheets in it, and wouldn't unlock. We tried and tried to open it at the end of the cycle, the flimsy plastic sleeve that the handle sits in broke, so I then had a broken handle too, and despite trying everything, including the emergency pull in the bottom outlet area, nothing would open the door.

So I called Harvey Norman, who we purchased the machine from, and asked for help. Having bought a 5-year warranty with it, I thought it would be fairly easy, despite living in a remote location. Harvey Norman were actually quite helpful but Bosch were hopeless. The girl from HN had such an awful time with them that she hung up and called the Product Care warranty people, with little joy, then the State Manager, with a little more success. It took many phone calls and a week from my initial call to get an answer on who could fix it, and permission for them to cover freight both ways. Of course, permission came a day after the freight truck came through town, so I had to wait another half week to even get it on the truck to the repairman 200kms away. Then the repairman was away for a week.

3 weeks later, with 6 kids, including a newborn, I still have no washing machine and no clue as to when it will be fixed. I live 110kms from the nearest laundromat and travel is not covered by either Bosch or Product Care and neither care that I am spending my time and money to do what should be their responsibility. I am travelling twice a week to do my washing, with my new baby and other children, and while the laundry is covered by Product Care IF I get a receipt (have you ever tried to get a receipt from a coin-op laundry? Impossible!), nothing else is. Hardly seems fair from my perspective.

I would have grave hesitation to recommend Bosch to anyone. It washed well but the after-sales warranty from Bosch is not worth the paper it's written on. And, while they have helped to a degree, Product Care is only marginally better. Washed well Door jammed and won't unlock. After-sales service stinks.

Quality machine – Bought because of German engineering - this model is actually made in Germany too. Its reasonably quiet and the eco settings do the same quality wash over a slightly longer period and use a fraction of the energy. The biggest plus though - is the after-sales service. it, they sent someone to fix the problem, and it was fixed. Expensive, but still good value.

We got it from Harvey Norman. The sales, delivery and after sales service was very poor. Would recommend the Bosch, just from somewhere else. It looks good. Has a child lock. Has options to use a lot less energy. Great warranty service. Expensive - but justifiably so.

A quality machine – We bought this washer a couple of weeks ago when our old Simpson top loader finally died. This is our first front loader and really noticed the difference in size to the 6.5kg top loader. Our laundry looks much roomier! I bought this model because it was German made. The only other German made model was the Home Professional top of the line model… Read more ·  2

which was $2100. I paid $1800 5 years interest free for mine - probably a little too much for this older model but it's basically the same as the top model bar a few washing programs.

The EcoSilence motor says it all - when washing, all we can hear is the faint sound of the clothes tumbling in the washer. It's so quiet! Spin cycle is a faint whine but nothing unpleasant. It can do a whole wash and we not hear it at all unlike our old washer...

Our clothes have never been cleaner. It does such a great job! It has programs ranging from a four hour eco wash right down to a 15min quick wash. Take the time to level it properly and it won't walk while spinning.

I have read about people having problems with towels coming out like sheets of cardboard with the pile all squashed. I've gotten rid of this problem by using the easy iron mode which tumbles them more and fluffs up the pile. Our towels now come out the same as the top loader.

Build quality is typically Bosch - fantastic. Quality solid hinges etc.

In conclusion, we are completely happy with this washer. It's exceeded our expectations and washes our clothes gently and perfectly. 5 stars! Quiet, Great washing performance, Gentle on clothes, Great build quality, German made

Fantastic – Have just purchased one week ago, our new Bosh front loader machine, after having nothing but trouble with my old front whirlpool. I will be purchasing further Bosch white goods for the house, I'm impressed.… Read more ·  6

Quiet, energy & water efficient, can add extra clothing once the machine has started. Has many different washing cycles. Takes 2 hours to do a normal load, but you can push the speed perfect button to shorten the time
