Worked pretty well until the seal failed – This washing machine mostly worked well for 5 years at 1 load per day until a small part of the rubber seal broke/tore off and it now leaks water. I used polyurethane sealant to plug the gap where it was torn and at the seal but it couldn't quite seal it. It appears that the drum does not quite sit perpendicular to the door so there's a very… Read more ·  2

small gap at the bottom which is letting out the water.

There were some clothes over the years that it ruined/tore and we couldn't work out why. It's not something we expected would happen with a washing machine that was near the top of the range for Bosch at the time that we bought it.

The Speed Perfect feature should be on by default because that's what nearly all of our washes are. If you accidentally forget to press it then it'll most likely cost you an additional hour (or more) for that wash cycle if you walk away and don't immediately reset it. I think Bosch has changed that setting in more recent models.

Overall, it's done a lot of washing (some 2,000 washes?) so I'd say its been good overall.

Would I buy another? Highly likely.

Bad design – the rinse result is not acceptable – We bought Bosch WAY32540AU about 2 years ago and initially we felt the washed clothes were not soft compare to our previous front load washing machine ;eventually we realized it didn’t rinse properly and the detergent left inside of clothes. We reduced to the usage of detergent and add 3 extra rinses to improve a bit but still were not satisfied… Read more

by the rinse result.

By the further investigation , we had found previous washing machine gave a spin between each rinse but Bosch WAY32540AU just drained the rinsed water without spin and the foam of detergent sill left inside of the machine – we found it by the last rinse water from drainage pipe.

It’s definitely a bad design and you had to be really careful of detergent usage and adding more rinse time, generally speaking , it wastes water, energy and time whatever the machine claims

I am not sure how to fix this design problem , upgrade the firmware of the machine? who knows!

Even the result is not acceptable but the machine runs smoothly and quietly , so 2 stars.

Great for dirty work clothes and delicates – We've had this machine for nearly two years and it hasn't skipped a beat washing everything from mud laden farm clothes to baby onesies. We particularly like the Speed Perfect function which reduces a normal cottons wash to one hour and the eco mode when we're not in a hurry. Also very happy with the woollens cycle and water efficiency,… Read more ·  1

particularly because we use our own tank water. The delayed start is a good option for night time and means your clothes aren't left sitting in the machine for hours on end when you're not home.

We couldn't justify a Miele but very happy with this machine.

I think I died and went to heaven – It's only day one but after having twin tubs and wringers for the last 38 years I am ecstatic about my Bosch front loader. I've always had cheap washers that last about five years and decided to go for quality. We have tank water so water consumption is very important. able to do small ones. I love the different cycles to choose from, it weighs my loads, measures my water, heats my water and is sooo quiet I had to check if was actually going! I have done a load of everything today so I have really put it through its paces. Everything has come out clean, smelling beautiful and in good condition. The water consumption was pleasingly surprising, I should have done this years ago. I am so excited I had to write a review. I really hope my love affair with this beautiful German machine continues. Fingers crossed.

Logixx 8 kg machine great little workhorse – The machine does a great job using eco detergents and warm washing. The machine does not like duvets but as it gets unbalanced. Have had the machine for 4 years and it works well. Good product. The machine is quite and I like that it can dry the clothes at 1600RPM  Show reply

Control Panel died after intermittant performance from 9mths old – This machine was our first venture into Top Loaders, at over $2000 with the Bosch name, we thought surely this would save us electricity help the environment and give us clean clothes. Appointments got cancelled and we started to use an old Midea 5Kg Top loader whenever this rubbish couldn't finish a load .. now 2 and half years later, the second hand Midea is still doing the job for the household of 6 and this over weight overpriced example of German Engineering sits in the laundry while we figure out what to do with the ornament!

Rubber seal issue after only a few years of purchase – I expected a good quality washing machine from Bosch - unfortunately this has been a disappointing experience as only after a few years a small piece of the rubber seal chipped off which resulted in leakage. I now had the seal replaced (costing me over $300) but would not look for another Bosch appliance or recommend it after this experience even… Read more

though we have a number of Bosch appliances at home. The technician suggested that the reason would be clothes caught up in the seal - this is not the case as I never had that happen. I see other reviews with the same issue which would indicate some quality issue with the seal. Sadly disappointed with Bosch.

Do not recall the month of purchase but it was some time in 2014.

Disappointed – This is a very quiet machine which is possibly the only good thing about it. Unfortunately I noticed straight away that many items came out of the wash ripped with 1200rpm. The washing quality is okay and I like the extra rinse option (up to times 3) that you can set. However I can't really use any spin speed higher than 800rpm (which is okay I… Read more

guess and maybe 1000rpm for thicker items such as towels) if I don't want to end up ripping everything. And it makes me fearful of washing anything in this machine.

This NEVER happened in my old machine, or any of the other machines I've had or used in the past! (I've used frontloaders for 25 years.)

I already own many Bosch appliances which I'm very happy with (dishwasher, induction stove etc) so I have to say this was a rather disappointing buy as it is much more expensive than most other brands.

Issues – There seemed to be an few recurring issues with this model when you read the reviews and talk to owners. 1. The clothes would come out harder than they should, in some instances towels could almost stand on their own. This appeared to me to be caused by not enough water being used in the cycles. 2. Clothes would experience wear that was… Read more

beyond any normal, expected and acceptable level. I had towels that you could see through in areas as the fibers had been stressed too much and there were catches in the clothing everywhere. This appeared to be the result of the drum design in conjunction with the low water levels. The drum has a raised dimple with the water escape holes drilled into it. The clothes drop onto the dimples to clean the clothes but since they are wet and not floating in water, they smash onto the dimple causing damage from what I could determine.

I spent 6 months of dealing with Bosch Customer service who are professional and the Technicians who are the same but few and far between, I got a replacement WAY32790 since this model was discontinued. (read review of that for a better experience).

Bosch need to have more qualified people on the ground and have far better Q&A on their designs or the brand will suffer.

Do not buy a Bosch front loader – Our washing machine is not even a year old. So far, the front door seal has ripped ($360 with service call) and now the washer won't drain due to a 'blockage'. To make a long story short, I now have a bleeding hand, a broken drain pump screw and a flooded laundry. It appears, from the many dozens of websites and forums that I wish I had read… Read more

before I bought this very ordinary washer, that it is impossible to remove the drainage screw if anything larger than a piece of fluff is stuck in the drain. That means, if you accidentally wash any clothing that has coins in the pocket or bras with underwire that might come loose and make their way into the washing, your machine will seize up and be useless. Despite the tutorials online that make the process look simple, the one glaring oversight is that if anything large or solid makes its way into the pump, you're stuffed!

No doubt this will cost me many hundreds of dollars to remove the coin (or whatever it is) and repair the extremely flimsy screw cover to the drainage pump. So infuriated. And this is not the only review I've written about my pigeon pair Bosch washer and dryer. They're sub-standard. Go for something else.

Control panel stopped working. Very average customer service – The machine worked perfectly for a year and the features are great. Edit - after 8 months of phone calls and complaints Bosch have agreed to replace the machine. The main reason they have agreed to this is because I took a video of me pushing the buttons and nothing happening and finally I spoke to someone at Bosch who cared enough to help me.

Disappointed Bosch customer for the 2nd time! When will I learn? – I'm on my second Bosch washing machine in 5 years. I finally made the switch from top loader to front loader 5 years ago after friends told me I didn't know what I was missing. I loved it! Quiet, water and energy wise and our clothes are lasting 3 times as long. Amazing machine, that was until the motor blew up for no reason after 3 years.… Read more

Unfortunately to replace the motor you may as well buy a new machine so by the time I had paid 2 technicians to come out I decided to donate the machine to my parents to fix & keep. As I loved my Bosch I decided to get the same machine but the updated model WAY32540AU/39. Not thinking it was possible, this machine was even better! Patting myself on the back for choosing another Bosch (when all my friends have & highly recommend Miele machines) I thought I'd made the right decision. So last week the rubber seal around the opening split on my 1-year-old machine. Needless to say I am really frustrated and disappointed. I am yet to find time to have it fixed and am packing towels around the front of my machine as the water runs straight out every time I use it. In a nutshell, great machine but I've had too many costly problems with the Bosch & will be buying a Miele next time.

Cleans well but getting holes in clothes on the not-so delicate delicate cycle – I bought this to replace an Asko front loader that was starting to play up after 13 years of service. When the door wouldn't shut one Sunday night, I took advantage of an on-line retailer's sale and bought this Bosch model with about 20 minutes' research, as the sale was ending in 30 minutes. Perhaps if I'd had longer to research the machine, or… Read more

if the retailer had offered Miele machines, I would have bought something else. This machine is quieter than my old Asko, and cleans well. It seems to require less detergent than the Asko, and is energy and water efficient. The machine weighs each load of laundry, although it is sometimes a little finicky when weighing, and needs the machine to be turned off then turned on again to get the scales working. My big disappointment with the Bosch is the holes that have started appearing in my clothes. I've now found holes in 3 items, all of which were washed on the delicate cycle, in 3 separate loads. One shirt was even washed in a garment bag, and was new - I thought it must have arrived damaged. It happened with another new dress, and once again I thought I must not have checked the item well enough when I bought it. But now a t-shirt which I KNOW did not have a hole in it when I loaded it in the machine has acquired one. It was washed with a pair of trousers which had a zip, as was the dress. Zip or not, holes sustained while washing on a delicate cycle is disappointing from such an expensive machine.

Never Buy a Bosch Again - Logixx8 - Total Time and Money wasted despite kid gloves – We have had our machine under just over 2 years and in that time have needed the drum replacing once and the door has also been replaced - thankfully under warranty (i was told the door was worth $500). Since then I have had to treat it like a fragile piece of equipment - splitting loads into 3, super carefully opening the door (even asking the… Read more

teenagers to leave the machine to me to guarantee careful treatment). The door has just gone again despite my carefulness - same as before, with washing inside - on Christmas day no less.

Overall the machine washed well so long as it was never challenged to wash more than a few light items - forget quilts or even more than 2-3 towels. Washing sheets took 2-3 loads per bed. At an hour at least per load this meant your day was clearly mapped out for you. It often failed to spin even the reduced loads - so this meant dragging wet towels out and spinning each of the 2-3 towels individually. More wasted time.

I felt being careful was my best option as I had already invested in the machine and warranty was over - even considering maybe I was just too hard on the machine and I maybe a top loader person. So I figured if I wanted to get the lifespan out of it I would need be super careful. But it was all a useless effort and a totally unsatisfactory process. Now i feel i have no option other than to get rid of it.... less than 3 years old and ($1600 later) probably still full of washing! So never again for me and Bosch.

(Our old machine shaked all the windows and floor at 1100rpm, it was like having a massage chair going while watching TV). It's very easy to use and I love the control layout with the red led back lights and control knob. The load weigh is a handy feature which recommends how much detergent to use. German engineering at its best – My girlfriend bought this machine and the 7kg heat pump dryer to match. I couldn't at first justify the large financial outlay. so quiet. even at 1600 rpm you may hear a slight humm from the next room. When you load the machine it weighs your clothes as you go so you know how much you can put in for that particular cycle, doesent sound like much but you will be amazed at how much you can put in (and not compromise the result) I'm sure most people 'under load' their machines. In hindsight I definatly did. There are so many programs to choose from, and I can't stress enough to utilise them. Why pay for them if you won't use them? In saying that the automatic program is pretty good for nearly everything. It will even add more detergent if it detects your clothes are really dirty and extend the washing time. On the flip side, if they are clean it will do the opposite. Also the towels program is a winner, even after being spun they somehow come out fluffy (in comparison to the cotton program) also the cycles seem much quicker then our 2 year old panasonic was. Which at the time was one of the faster machines you could buy. At first I thought the automatic dosing was a cool gimmick and the next level in laziness. but it has saved so much detergent and softner and the clothes come out cleaner and fresher. Bosch claim and i believe them, that the IDOS system saves over 7000 litres of water because it doesent need to get the extra detergent out with multiple rinses... Tip! use half what the bottle recomends. I was sceptical at first but tried it and clothes come out clean still. And call me crazy but omo are trying to sell omo, right? There are stain removal programs, from dirty socks (that one is awesome) to red wine. But honestly it does such a good job on the regular cycles we only have used it once or twice. They do take a while, up to 4 hours on some programs. But I guess you don't have to pre treat, soak etc. You just chuck it in go about your day or night and come back to clean gear. Delay start comes in to its own there, because its so quiet it won't wake you I'f you put it on overnight. Feature packed is an understatement, this thing is pretty clever. Another tip, get the monster surge cube that the harvey norman sales people try to sell you for this thing. Its basically a computer and for 30 bucks it stops surges and 'cleans' the power supply. I looked in to it after we bought thinking it was a waste of money. But independent reviewers say your a fool if u don't have these. I went and bought one for every major appliance we have. I recommend if you want a quality washer you don't need to look anymore, its very expensive but worth every cent......... End of review and message for Bosch.........what is the go with your customer service in Australia. I have never had a problem with one of your products and from what Everyone is saying I'm glad I havent. Why are you shooting your self in the foot? You make an exceptional product but don't have the service to back it up. you have a legal obligation to back up the product you manufactor. To repair, replace or refund in the case of a major failure and in a timely manner, Why not just do the right thing by these people that are having problems and be helpful. Because your brand is really taking a hit and its like you have your head buried in the sand.... I know the above statement is out of place with my review. Its just dissapointing to see what people are saying. efficient, gentle on clothes, clean first time every time, program options, design, build quality, fast washing times on normal cycles. nothing except bosch warranty is a concern.

Not impressed! – For a relatively expensive washer, this machine has been nothing but trouble. When it works, it is lovely and quiet and does a good job. Never buy a Bosch front loader washing machine or a Bosch dryer – I have had nothing but constant trouble from my Bosch appliances. I would never recommend them. My front loader washing machine has been nothing but a source of trouble. It's latest problem after having its drum replaced!!!!!!!, was blowing out its element and destroying its seal. I don't even want to mention the issues I have had with my drying… Read more

machine. It does not dry small loads of washing no matter what setting you place it on. It seems to love its anti-crease end cycle!!!!

I will be delighted when both appliances are removed from my home and I can replace them with Fisher and Paykel Nothing Read the above

Do you own the WAY32540AU Washer? What is the model of your Bosch Dryer?

8kg? – Fantastic quality and ease of operation. Great to have the machine weigh the load for you and recommend the correct amount of detergent to use for the load. I bought the Bosch as I wanted a good reliable machine with great water saving. I am disappointed in the fact that only the cotton and allergy plus cycles hold 8kg, all other cycles you can… Read more

only wash 2kg - 3.5kg. I found out that to wash towels you either wash no more than 2 at a time or else use the cotton cycle. I would have preferred to have known this before committing to such an expensive machine. Also the features offered are less than cheaper Bosch machines! Over all it is a good machine but in hindsight I would have considered cheaper models and possibly 10kg machine so I could wash more clothes than 3.5kg at a time on most cycles. From the ease of operation view point, it is very easy to use and operate. Reliable, very water efficient, easy to use Not knowing before purchase that most programs are not 8kg.

Worth the investment! – We bought our machine in May 2013 after our previous Bosch front loader of 11 1/2 years finally "gave up the ghost", and I am amazed to say that I not only enjoy washing much more now, but it has given me renewed vigour to wash clothes for my family of six. :) Initially I was shocked at how quiet the machine was, even at full spin, compared to… Read more ·  1

my old Bosch. I sat on the laundry floor with my toddler, mesmerised by the gentle and quiet movements of the clothes mid-wash... my laundry no longer sounded like it was about to launch off into the atmosphere during a spin cycle. I was also extremely happy to be able to wash woollens and delicates and not have them damaged! Hand washing is the bane of my cleaning, so this machine has become an appreciated home helper.

My favourite function is the ability to fill and set the machine at bedtime so the washing is ready when I wake up, closely followed by the SpeedPerfect function to make washing faster when I forget! My children find it fun to load the machine and watch how heavy towels and blankets are, so it keeps the helpers entertained, too!

Although the machine cost about $1200, I really don't count it as a "con" because I expect my machine will last me many more years to come like my previous, smaller Bosch. When you have 4 young children, a quality washing machine is a very important household tool!

Thumbs up from me (and my husband who started doing washing after over a decade... yes, it's a miracle machine!). Quiet, doesn't damage woollens/delicates, beautiful on the eyes, too!

best machine so far – Great machine, best feature is probably the silent brushless motor. The large door makes life easier. Efficient - it weighs the loads and decides itself how to adjust the cycle for time/water. Set and forget until it beeps. I feel safer with the waterstop function. All clothes results have been excellent. Glad to have changed to Bosch from Miele… Read more ·  4

as now I realise how good the Bosch is. The equivalent Miele model W5873, (same RRP in Germany as the Bosch), is 30% more expensive here even when on special with 200 off! In my opinion, the 20 year logo Miele put on their machines is misleading as it appears like a warranty but isn't. Why then do Miele only provide a 2 year warranty? I can tell you the red Miele service van that comes to your house is expensive. I had a W918 for over 10 years (top of the range at the time) but didn't get anywhere near 20 years use. In that time I had to replace 1) the drain pump (leak), 2) door seal (leak), 3) Inlet valve (seized), 4) door latch (wouldn't hold), 5) carbon brushes in the motor, 6) Main switch came loose/busted. 7) When the motor stopped again I'd had enough. When I asked Miele if they would credit any parts costs on a new one they said no. Brushless motor, quiet operation, low vibration for an 8kg machine.

Program details – After returning to Bosch because of reliability, and lots of research and comparisons, I'm disappointed to find that the maximum load size for most of the programs is 3.5 kg or under. I made my purchase on the basis of it being an 8 kg machine. It was only once I had paid for it, it had been delivered, unpacked, installed and I went to use it that… Read more

I found out that is only an 8kg machine if I want to run the cottons program which takes such a long time! This should be made clearer for purchasers in the information provided before purchase. I would not have purchased this machine had I realised this. Reliability Only Cotton/Allergy plus) are 8 kg and take a minimum of 2.5 hrs. If the speed option is used, even this reduces to 5kg.
