Great sound but don't expect them to last forever – Credit where credit is due - these are awesome noise cancelling headphones. I use them while in the office to cut out all the office "hum" (background noise caused by photocopiers, air con etc). The headphones do not cut out voices though, so perfect for when you still want to keep up with office conversations. The quality though leaves a lot… Read more

to be desired. I have had these for about 3 years now and they have had minimal use, approximately 2-4 hours every 2-3 weeks and they have always been stored in the case. Despite this minimal amount of use, the ear cushion is breaking (the ring of foam cushioning encased in "leather" which goes over your ear), or more precisely, the "leather" casing is spiltting/separating and now exposing the foam. I have contacted Bose but there is a wall of silence and I remain doubtful they will fix since the headphones are now out of warranty.

While they are great headphone, with the amount of use I have had, I would not bother spending another small fortune again.

The best headphones for travelling – Ok These are the best noise cancelling headphones you can buy. Specifically for flying!! these work best to cancel out any continous humming or noises, such as engine noise and murmering. You can actually hear the movies perfectly on the flights. It wont work well for noises such as sudden hammering or one off bangs but it still does ok than… Read more

not having them on.

inside the case it comes with a special plane double jack.

For the older model, The only negatives is, it still uses batteries, the batteries last around 12 hours. If the battery goes flat, you cannot use the headphones until the battery is replaced. The new version now allows you to use the headphones without switching on the noise cancellation.

Another wierd thing i found but maybe not for all people, If theres is no sound playing in the headphones, listening to silence creates this wierd suction feeling, like your head is getting squashed by a vice. Its something to do with the negative sound waves. Once you play music from it it that feeling disappears.

If you want to enjoy your flights get these headphones.

Simply the best noise cancelling, and most comfortable on the market – If you're serious about sound, you will be considering these. Now the market is flooded with a hundred big headphones in every style and colour imaginable, so why these? 1- Circumaural - this means the cups go around the ear completely, not on the ear itself. This matters because any headphones that touch your ears and squash them down, will… Read more

definitely get uncomfortable after an hour or more. Your ear won't like being squashed like that and you may get headaches as well. These don't touch your ear at all, they make contact with your skull, leaving your ear free to sit the way it does naturally = mega comfort.

2- Weight - they weigh practically nothing, you hardly notice you have them on, even after long periods = mega comfort.

3- THE BEST noise cancelling technology. Bose have been making these since the stone age, and they are always refining and improving it. Naturally they know what they're doing with noise cancelling. If you haven't tried them switched on with some decent amounts of noise around you, try it - it's hard to believe how well they work.

DOWN SIDES:

There is really only one - they are not the most Bassy headphone out there. If you like Bass heavy music (RnB, DnB, etc..) you may find the bass is not as prominent as you'd like. The Bass is there, it's not invisible, it's like listening to the track with a flat equaliser setting, whereas the Monster Beats (As the name suggests) crank the Bass for you. Incredibly comfrotable even after long periods of time, simply the best noise cancelling Bass is not as prominent as competitiors.

Outstanding – I purchased a set in 2008. They are still working perfectly. I’ve recently purchased the QC 35. The QC 15 are far superior in quality that the QC 35. The only drawback of course is the QC 15s are wired, which are is a pain. The QC 35s can’t be used for FM radio as the radio needs an antenna and the headphone jack wire is the antenna.  Show details

Great headphones for long term use – Great investment for frequent travellers and quiet commuters. had them for almost 4 years now. Great noise cancellation and overall spund performance. The only drawback i found was that the leather earpieces wear off after a couple of years and u would have to buy spares online. plus the headset leather cover doesnt come off easily  Show details

Overpriced with design flaws – Had a minor flaw with the wire connected to the battery. Cannot repair it and the replacement offered too expensive. I have 4 Bose products 3 with technical problems, one replaced. I will buy no more. A universal remote where the back plastic became sticky. Five CD changer rarely used had to replaced after a lot of effort to get a new one. All products were well looked after.  Show details

Great Noise reduction but ear pads require replacement every 12 months @ $40 per go – The headphones are great for frequent fliers. The noise reduction is great and makes a massive difference especially on noisy aircraft The problem that I have is the ear pads on the headphones don't last and require replacement about every 12 months as a cost of $40 per go. When I spend good money on a quality product I expect it to last and not to be locked into ongoing maintenance fees.  Show details

2 pairs in 4 years! – The right ear just stops working after 2-3 years. To their credit the first pair broke just out of warranty and Bose replaced them but now the 2nd pair (which I tend to baby) has quit. When you go online you see lots of youtube videos on how to fix (beyond my ability). Needs a design change.  Show details

Quality that lasts – I used these for many years now, mainly while on plane. Have had them for about 7 years Reduced the hum of the engines, crying children etc. Last year i had to replace the ear pads, $5 off Aliexpress. I also bought a bluetooth adaptor that plugs in to the earphone, making them wireless. $70 off Aliexpress. I like them.  Show details

Quite a good product – I know this has discontinued, however I have used this for a few years now and it is quite an amazing set of headphones. Compared to to the more newer versions, they have good sound balance and a decent bass (not as bassy as the new ones obviously). The stitching for the actual heaadsets are starting to come apart, but that is due to solid usage. Definitely worth a buy secondhand, they worth the bargain.  Show details

Great Quality! Noise Cancelling has improved in new models though – At the time of purchase, these were by far the best NC headphones on the market. Comfortable for long flights, and convenience of AAA battery vs rechargeable headphones. I've owned these for 3 years and they haven't skipped a beat. However, the ear cushions have worn and needed replacing after 2.5 years. The new iterations of the QC series have far superior noise cancelling and I plan on purchasing one of them once this one clonks out.  Show details

Great for travel – Great for travel, uses 1 x AAA battery which lasts for ages. I keep some spare low self discharge rechargeables in the case. Only minor issue is that it won't play music if the battery goes flat, so keep a spare in your pocket when flying (especially in the window seat!) Haven't found the need to upgrade yet - the QC15s are great as-is.  Show details

Good sturdy earphones and good level of noise suppression – These are my 3rd pair of noise cancelling headphones and they are by far the best. Bit pricey. Batteries last a long time. Good level of noise suppression. Other earphones have broken at the swivel point but these are a much better design. They get a lot of use but have been really good for a few years at least.  Show details

Good Product – I would rate this better than the QC3 - after a couple of years of use the foam/leather support falls apart. Not exactly what I expected for such an expensive item. When it is new and in tact it is an awesome product. I wuld like Bose to offer a solution to replace the leather and foam ends of this product. I would happily pay a fair amount to have a Bose professional replace the items.  Show details

Awesome sound quality – Not cheap but worth every penny given the crisp sound quality. Good battery life too which is handy for long distance travel. Highly recommended if you're after premium sound quality and performance and can manage with bulky headphones (compared to the in ear version). Super comfortable to wear too even for long periods of time. Two thumbs up.  Show details

After 18 months the right earpiece does not work – I purchased a pair of headphones 18 months at the airport however after about 12 months the right earpiece stopped working I would expect that a $400 pair of headphones work last longer than this I only use them travelling which has only been 4 times I tried to call support however I was cut off.  Show details

Good for noise cancelling but quality of leather is not good :( – Only use on airplanes few times a year. Great for cancelling out noise. But head phones leather has come apart from the headphones and all the foam is now exposed. Was told that its the oils from the body and will destroy the leather. For amount of time used not good for the price we paid for it.  Show details

Super happy with Bose Quiet Comfort 15 quality – Ridiculous price! We purchased second hand in perfect condition off ebay and another off gumTree. Prices were ~$150 and ~$100 respectively. Excellent results on 2 hour flight. Helps me with my distracting tinnitus at home. Super happy with the quality of both. Have ordered the QC25s. Will be comparing. And will post review.  Show reply

Excellent Product! – I have had this product since last 4 months and its an excellent headphone to use. Also bought a new one at wagneronline.com.au which is giving better performance and awesome sound quality, cuts the surround noise and gives real music. Very soft to use and no audio leakage, am really loving this product. Sure you will enjoy the music treat with this headphone. Wagner electronic services also offers at best price too.

Really good sound quality – Really clear mid tones, very clean bass, no leakage. Would highly recommend. It's very robust, and has upstanding much punishment from day to day activities and been dropped on more than one occasion. However, top end maybe a bit hard cut and could do with some cleaning. But some EQ may be able to acceptably mitigate this issue.

Best headphones around! – Just bought these headphones for a trip to Europe. I was a bit uneasy about its cost (very expensive), however they are the comfiest and best sounding headphones I have used in a long time. There beautifully sleek style and detachable headphone jack also means I can use it for a large variety of different devices. If you have the cash available, I would recommend buying these! Comfy, noise cancelling, reliable, versatile expensive

wonderful – I have had my headset for several years now - I am very happy with the sound....it completely obliterates all surrounding background noise. It uses a lot of batteries though. Surprising how much I now cant live without these headphones. They are not cheap but as long as I keep using them for a few more years - they would have been worth it.  Show reply

compared with the plastic looking qc25. Acoustics wise, perfect for listening to music or watching movies inflight. No need to crank up the volume to drown the noise. I hv tried a few other brands at airports and nothing works like Bose for active noise cancelling technology!

Excellent performance but poor quality – This is the second pair I have owned and they work a treat but the ear padding covering has worn through and the foam is now spilling out. I bought them in Las Vegas 18 months ago so no more warranty and no reply from Bose Aust. when enquiring about being able to replace ear pads. Pretty expensive exercise to replace whole headphones after only 18 months.

Amazing! – I received the headphones as a present and was considering selling them (because I never use headphones) however, I put them on for a trial and was so amazed. I had no idea I could be so impressed by headphones! So impressed that I felt the need to write a review!

Perfect for travel – Everything has been said about them that how great they are - its true. Fantastic sound quality. Great noise cancellation. Ability to just use it as noise canceller without the cable is a bonus - makes it easier to sleep in flights. Flick the switch off when you want to hear someone - don't need to take them off. keep a few spare in the case that comes with it. One AAA eneloop lasts ~ 15 hours on these.

Some may find them uncomfortable since they feel a bit warm on ears. For me its only for a small amount of time before getting used to them.

Another thing would be the slight pressure that people with sensitive ears feel on their ear-drums. It wouldn't bother 99% of the people.

Great price, speedy shipping – Best price for Bose QC15. Excellent headphones, noise cancelling drowns out incessant chatter of work colleagues. Excellent sound quality for all types of music. Overear design is much more comfortable to wear all day as compared to in ear headphones of which I've tried multiple varieties. You can keep your beats, give me my QC's. Perfect

Excellant – Great noise cancelling, extremely comfortable for long haul flight. Sound quality is good although if you prefer heavy bass then you might be disappointed compare to Beat. is quite steep but does worth it if fly a lot. Is bit bulk. Works great with iPhone. Even just has it on while working is a bliss! Cable is bit fragile tho. Noise cancelling, comfort, works well with iPhone expensive, cable is bit thin and fragile

I'm continually being startled by not hearing people come up to me! – I chose the QC15's because the headphone's comfortably cover my ears, unlike the QC3's. The inline microphone works great when I'm on my iPhone. I love that I can remove the cable when I'm not listening to music, and still have the noise cancelling properties. These headphones will save your hearing as you don't need to pump the volume to deafen… Read more
