Our TH5 with 8 outlets was installed in 2013 and is still going strong .. couple of times in last 5 years ive only had to clean the flame sensor and spark igniter when i got the 07 error code. whenever this unit finally dies ill investigate if there are more economical versions now but most likely am thinking of switching to hydronic heating (gas or electric) Show details · 1
Spectrolink Comfort Controller playing up- help! – I had a power outage last night and now the Spectrolink comfort controller is playing up. No error codes are visible. I can turn unit on but it won't turn off and the "home and away" features are muddled. Had to climb in to roof to unplug so it would stop. Any suggestion? Thank you Andrea
With gas being outdated do not buy this system. If you are overseas and looking at buying braemar, do not. Products safety features fail dramatically, and they don’t want too know about it. Nearly caught fire. Customer service at seely international is so poor. Fan melted and they can’t even assist what caused it. They are a non condensing unit… Read more
but it’s 7years old and it’s creating a silly amount off condensation. Major appliances should last 10-15 years under law. Useless

Got lucky with this unit so far – Bought a used TH330 from gumtree in 2015, still had 1 year warranty left. Paid $300 for the unit and $600 have it professionally plumbed and some duct work modified as this unit had larger duct size. This unit was to replace the old 15kw Braemar my home came with that kept throwing error codes and shutting off after a hour's use. It's now 10 years… Read more
old and I only just had to replace the PCB board as it failed, heater has had about 5 year's usage in total since new. Found a brand new replacement PCB on Ebay for $225 and changed the board over. Working fine again now. What I have noticed with these units are the amount of PCB fails in general are atrociously high. I think Seeley need to seriously look into who is manufacturing their components and spend some time with their R&D team to make these unit's more reliable over a 10 year period. When your customers are spending $1500+ on the units alone to $6000 to install complete system's and the unit's are failing within the warranty period it's likely we will not ever be returning customer's. I would personally not buy another Braemar unit with the amount of failures I have seen and had myself and I am only lucky this second hand unit has lasted as long as it has. I am lucky to be handy enough with PCB boards to have been able to self diagnose the fault otherwise I would have been looking at $600+ minimum to have a business come out to diagnose and repair it for me. If your heater is having issues it's 90% PCB related most of the time as the unit is controlled by 90% electronic component's. The mechanical side is only really the two fan's that suck and blow your air around and the exhaust fan solenoid. Thankfully there are people on Gumtree who offer testing of your PCB board for $44, and if it is found to be faulty the fee is then at most $144 plus postage cost's to have your PCB repaired with the initial $44 diagnosis fee refunded. I hope this review helps someone out. If anyone has issues they can message me as I know quite a bit about them and how to diagnose and troubleshoot faults. I can also provide information where to send your PCB for repair if it has failed or you think it has failed. I gave a 2 star rating for value for money as the home has gone through 2 unit's in 15 year's. If the current unit lasts another 10 year's I'll update my review.
Worked well for years – We've had this heater installed in 2010. At the time of writing (almost ten years later) we've only had one problem, when the flame sensor failed due to not having been cleaned for seven years. The part cost $24 and we had a service done at the same time, which was under $200. Would strongly recommend. Show details
Braemar excellence – Another winter and still an excellent purchase not to expensive to run on a high energy star rated device the newer products I guess are gonna be much better but still extremely happy with purchase can definitely crank the heat and the magic iq touch pad is amazing a must Show details

Wouldn’t recommend – When I got mine worked beautiful for 18 months then the problem stated would take about 5 hours to heat up to 20 degrees they tried everything to get it to work other than replace it and when I went to the ombudsman they Seeley said it was my fault for running the fan on 6 but got it replaced on the proviso that the fan was locked on 9 and I… Read more
couldn’t change it only the installer could do that then 4 years later the electronics went got that replaced under warranty it is going now but if it breaks again it will be replaced by different firm and model not Braemar

Error code 07 - maybe this message will save someone the angst of figuring out what this means – Seven good years of reliable heating. $4600 for a unit that's lasted less than 8 years. Then error code 07. Tried cleaning the filter. Didn't help. Tried the hard reset too. Turn off at unit wait ten minutes turn it on. Same thing. A service person tried to fix it, flames came up which indicates the sealed condensate trap base is filled with muck.… Read more
Apparently the condenser units allow some condensation to backflow into the unit and after a while they fill up but can't be accessed. Of course ours has been installed with the condenser outlet vent positioned higher than the unit so obviously a certain amount would flow back down with gravity. A gas service repairman told me today that if I do spend lots of money to fix it, it is likely to happen again. He recommended I buy a non-condensing unit as they have less that goes wrong.
Braemar Service backup hopeless – Continuing error code 07 but Service Agent incapable of rectifying the problem had them out over half a dozen times and problem still persists even after a new igniter was replaced. National and state service managers very unhelpful as well they say well it’s over 10 years old but a new one !!!!!! Show details

Cold Flow took 20 weeks to fix my new ducted heatering 2015 and Bramear didn't step in, its down again – I moved into my new home 12th June 2015 and my top of the range Braemar ducting heating didn't work at all for twenty weeks,an entire winter without heating. The provider was Cold Flow and it was their installation errors that caused the failure and cost me hundreds of dollars in power and gas. My heat was escaping from a damaged and detached duct… Read more
which allowed the hot air to escape into the roof cavity and outside via the tiled roof and in addition the drip drain was plumbed incorrectly which caused condensation to feed back into the heater causing it to shut down and they had not installed the zones for heating according to their zone plan, cooling was correct. Cold Flow customer service and sales manager showed me no mercy, knowing I was living in 9 deg with lung disease. When I received my bill I contacted my energy provider who sent out techs the following day to check for gas leaks, AGL techs advised me they believed it was highly likely to be an issue with the heating system and I informed Cold Flow of their written and verbal technical report. Cold Flow booked and cancelled appointments while treating me with contempt till Mid December 2015. When notified of a heater issue in June 2022 their attitude had not changed in six years, they left me to freeze for a few weeks before saying my warranty expired. I rang Braemar to complain since my heater had a fault from new and was not in working for the first 6 months, I believed it should be still under warranty. WARNING Braemar or Seeley seem to support suppliers not consumers. My heater has failed again and because Cold Flow have had me on ice for another winter I run Seeley/Braemar and I was shocked to be told my seven year warranty started in March 2015. That's three months before the heating unit or I moved in, so I can only assume Braemar warranty starts at rough in stage not at installation of the heater. When it works the heater is quiet and fairly efficient and economical to run, I do find the spectolick controller is complicated and hard to use. After my experience I would never buy a Braemar anything ever again.

I regret recommending this brand to my parents – This unit worked fine for the first 5 years. Unfortunately, we did not go for the extended warranty to boost it to 7 years. On the 6th year, we had a gas plumber replace the board, another guy replace the thermistor and another replace the condensation sensor. I recommended this brand over the old Brivis but at least we got 15 years out of that unit without any problems. Show details
Spare parts for these do not exist any more – Spent $12k 10 years ago for a Braemar gas ducted air con. After 7 years the AC compressor, soft starter and capacitors all died. $4k to fix but took 1 month to track down parts. 1 month ago the AC stopped working again. Got a technician out who said the soft starter is no good. He searched for 3 weeks, then I called Seeley. They don't make this… Read more
very vital part any more. So I basically have a full ducted system that is useless because of one minor part. That's what you get for trying to buy Australian made. I would never buy Braemar again.
Never buy a Braemar ducted heater again! – My ducted heating( Ecostar TH5X32N) had been working normal since its instalment in 2014. However when passed its 7 year warranty, it became problematic; so i called the installer and had some sensors and SCC replaced ( SCC is expensive). It behaved good just for a couple of weeks. After that another problem came, e.g. when you turned it on, the… Read more
fan quickly run to its full speed 10, even before the flame sign is on or if the outer flame sign (high Gas rates)is on, at fan speed 10, it would turn to inner flame ( low Gas rates) and then the Gas turned off automatically but left the fan blowing for a quite long time; sometimes the heater could turned on with struggles, when reached the set temperature, the gas turned off, left the fan blowing almost to the next on-and-off circle. The heater now starts at 21 and stops at the same temperature, the time between heating on and off is very short. Typically, it became problematic when the outside temperature is lower, e.g. outside about 4~7 at night and your rome temporature is about 13 in the morning. I will call the installer again once the VIC lockdown is over, and I am afraid that the control board might be replaced this time and it will cost dearly too. Never touch this brand again in future!

Never buy another Braemar – I have had this heater for a while now- not sure exactly how long- but over the last few years have had nothing but problems with it! So far, new control board, new thermistor and ignitor- twice!, and now yet another error! Will never buy Braemar again. Show details
Worked OK for the first year – Bought this heater to hopefully save a bit of my gas bill, and first year it worked very well, since then it has been basically useless, the flame doesnt stay lit, its been cleaned, new board in it and still no good. coldflow or braemar, and dont think about ringing their service manager waste of you time. This is the type of thing that should be sent off to consumer affairs and I now wish I had.
I just hate them – I've got two houses with Braemar central heaters one blowers like a hurricane the other just wont light i have spent hours mucking around with them over two years and I am a mechanical engineer Show details
Wonderful piece of scrap metal – Purchased / Installed April 2014. First 3yrs of warranty period (5yrs) it wasn't too bad, some minor issues. Since then, every winter when you need the alleged 'heater' something goes wrong, motherboard, pressure switch, fault codes, SCC replaced.. Now it's June 2020 & guess what... It's fault code 08 on the screen, Technician should be here in 6 days..? Think I'll go & have an ice bath, at least house will feel warm after that.. Show details
What a waste of money – When it works, it works well. However 7 years to the day it's dead; after spending over $4,000 buying this unit and another $1,000 in repairs. Standard 3 bed weatherboard home; have been told the unit is too big for our 6 outlet house; I could only go on what ColdFlow recommended. We now have constant error codes of 11 and 19 - which sure I've… Read more
been told how to reset, but what's the point when you have to do this every 10 minutes!!! The only option we have now is spend another $2,700 to replace the whole unit - which we have been advised was a lemon in the first place. So the question is; should we bother going with another Braemar??? Or go with another brand- as spending this much money on heating in 7 years is quite simply ridiculous - especially as we are currently only a 1 income household. Not happy jan.
THMX632 Gas Heater with Addon Cooling - Needs a tech out every Summer and Winter – Start with the good. When it works it works well. When a technician is needed, Sealey International in Adelaide are excellent at providing a responsive service and their techs are always very competent. Now the bad: 1. The addon cooling unit kept switching off every time the outside temp hit 39-40C this past summer even though we cleaned around… Read more
the unit. It kept tripping the fuse in the fuse box. The unit is in a car port with a vaulted roof, the peak of which has to be 4M off the ground, with clearance in front of the unit of at least 1.5M when car is in car port or about 5m clearance when no car. 2. The motor for the heater (which is also the fan unit for heater and cooler) seized in Feb 2020 and was replaced under a home insurance claim. 3. Adelaide got freezing the past couple of days (April 2020). Heater has worked last couple of mornings now error code -18. Have had this multiple times over 7 years necessitating technician call out. Have had other error codes necessitating call outs as well. - We have also had the intake duct collapse twice and require replacement on both occasions.
As far as I recall someone has been out every year since 2013 when we had the thing installed at least once to address issues. Basically I know every single winter and summer, somebody is going to have to come and resolve issues with this thing. I would therefore never ever buy another Braemar A/C/Heater EVER again! I am even contemplating writing the whole system off and at great expense installing split systems in most rooms. $12,500 and 7 years of problems and I've lost the will to fight this thing!

Worst ever heating system ever – After spending my hard earnt money to finally get a heating system in just does not heat up the house properly. My old Rinnai cheap wall heater provides more heat in 30 mins compared to 3 hrs of use of this terrible heater. unit after numerous complaints and arguments. In fact in the end wanted to charge me $2500 more to get a new heater for his error in choosing the wrong one. Couldn't afford to take action against parties. Pathetic.
5 year comprehensive warranty. Meaningless – The 5 year comprehensive warranty is meaningless. Within the first year of operation a snail got into the unit and completely disabled it. The installation manual makes no mention of completely sealing all entry points. Plus the unit does not come with suitable grommets to seal all entry points. Despite this a Braemer service agent advised that… Read more
the unit is not covered (apparently, company policy). Electrical appliances that sit outside need to come with a certain amount of Ingress Protection.
Ants, snails and other small creatures can disable your appliance and wait for it. Braemer will slug you upto $500 and the 5 year COMPREHENSIVE warranty is meaningless. Do Not Buy.
Best purchse ever heats the whole house perfectly – Bought as a kit and installed myself. As an electrical contractor took care how the ducting runs straight as possible i see many installations where ducting is restricted or squashed it is simple to use.The only issue i had was that the drain on the outside unit became blocked and the unit stopped. As soon as i cleared the drain it ran perfectly something to look out for. Really nice while its working – Moved in almost exactly 3years ago, and have just booked my third repair / service for the electronic controller which appears non functioning again. When it was working, it usually maintains the temperature well and seems to be relatively efficient, but the annual "service fee" is crippling. Would struggle to recommend. Show details
Braemar horrendous – Had one unit installed two years ago, the control panel literally blew up. Service guy came out and charged $95 for the call out and gave the $390 quote for the control panel to be replaced. Got it fixed and now within months the controller might power up if it feels like it.....or not. Just a terrible heating unit, so unreliable it's not funny. Show details
Avoid it – The worst heater ever. Had it broken down twice in the last 2 years. Was told its a faulty motherboard. Breamar should compensate us for all the callout fees we have to pay to get it fixed under warranty. It may be 6 star energy rating but its 0 star for reliability Show details
Avoid like the plague…no rating! – Two units purchased when the homes were built 5 years ago. Were up to our third repair in that time and close to being out of pocket $1000.00. To make matters worse the install notes that the unit needed shifting by 300m. Which was never done! (I'm the second owner of the house). Having no heat living in Melbourne is just frustrating. occasion I've attempted to get assistance with Braemer they're not interested. There is no after sale repercussions. They don't care!
Poor service – Just need a diagram of circuit board for controller, Braemar refuse to. Near 3 hundred dollars to replace a new one instead of 4 soldering points needed. Ït's not repairable"Yes its is I just need the diagram or photo of the circuit board. The power of the fan is pretty useless over all. Show details
Trust me, this is not a product you'd want to buy – After a year the unit failed. It was covered under warranty but the electrical component was no longer being produced so a retrofit board had to be installed, which was quoted at around $1000. The unit has failed every year, costing between $600 and $1000 every time. The worse part about the unit is not the cost to maintain but the inability to… Read more
diagnose the issue. The usual generic -07 error would appear, and the registered Braemer tradesmen would come and go a number of times a week replacing components until he finally found the component at fault. One time the issue started early may and was not resolved until mid July. I've now been told you cannot get the required valves as they are no longer produced and the only option is to throw the unit away.
Simply Shocking – Total waste! We moved in to our new house less then two years ago and from the start we are having problems with heating. Their technicians came in summer as cooling was giving problems and now in this extreme cold, heater function is still trowing out cold air and nothing being done. Thinking of going to consumer affairs if Braemer does not take action in installing a better one or getting this properly fixed.
never buy braemar again – Our house was 3y/old when we moved in and this heating unit has been useless from the start. We've had it serviced and checked out to no avail. 8 times out of 10 it wont turn on - and when it does it runs for a bit and stops when the place is warm but won't kick in again regardless of temp dropping. Thank god we have a split system to back up. We're renovating a home to move into but won't install this brand of heating ever again!!
Disgracefull and disapointing – This unit has been installed for three years now and has broken down every winter I am a pensioner and saved hard to buy this unit I also have a sick wife at home who suffers from the cold so my review is that this unit is a dud and fails completely to live up to the standards expected from a ducted heater.
I have reinstalled a different unit which works a as an expensive air conditioning unit is expected to perform.
By a buffalo – Braemar.... Spend the extra 200 bucks and get a brivis. It will end up saving you 300 a year. Every year since new it broke down, conveniently over winter. We had a buffalo in our old home and that unit is now nearly 20 years old and it's still going.
