I have only just purchased the bakers dozen and my bread comes out heavy and doughy. Is it too much water in it? It’s for the 680g loaf.

Hello , bought the breville bakers oven and every loaf is heavy and dense , it’s like a cake We have tried 5 times , still same result We using high grade flour and tried the Edmonds active yeast , then tried surebake active yeast , still same , we using trim milk powder , then we tried the instant dried yeast , same result , all other ingredients measured correctly Thinking taking machine back to shop , getting money back

Use recipes from the Panasonic website to suit the capacity of your bread maker. Make sure your Surebake yeast is fresh, it needs to be kept in the fridge. Make sure everything is room temp before baking. It's usually faulty recipes to be honest, as long as your ingredients are fresh. And one last thing- always use accurate digital scales, and measuring spoons, or forget it! To be completely honest, the only bread makers worth their salt are Panasonic.

BB200, my second one with the same problem. Got the paddle off...finally but shaft seized solid. Any suggestions?

I have a breville bakers oven and am steuggling to understand why the bread deflates as soon as baking starts. I tried altering yeast, then liquid and salt but no success. I made dough andremoved a portion after last knockdown cycle and baked that in conventional oven and left remainder in breville to final rise and bake. Breville bread collapsed and other worked. Do others have same problem? It makes dough making easy but cant get it to bake.

I have a Breville Ultimate BB400 which works fine up to the bake cycle when switches off. The alert message is displayed. When it switches off it trips out the power circuit for the power pint it is plugged into. The power point is not the problem as it is used for other appliances. Any suggestions as to why the breadmaker might cause this problem.

My paddle got stuck in the bread, am I meant to take it out at some stage of the process?

I have a Breville Bakers oven that I have not used for a while. The instruction book is lost. Does this model have a collapsible dough hook? (if so it is lost) There are two hooks, one cream and one black. I do not remember what purpose each has? Any help would be appreciated..

I haven't used my bakers oven in a 'long' while and I've forgotten how to remove the bread pan lol. Can anyone help please?

Google the machine brand & model & you'll be able to find the manual. That should give the best answer. Otherwise, they normally pull out. But I don't want you to break it...so google the manual first!!

Anja S.
Anja S.

It's not in the manual. My one is stuck! Nothing in the manual about it.

LMMM

Try twisting it firmly but gently anti clockwise or just pull up if there are little tabs on each side.

I have a BBM100, I got it off a friend who left the country 2 years ago, and decided to try it, the Kneader/Mixer kept kneading even in the rising and baking cycle

Carolyn M.

You can google the manual & download it or print it. If the answer isn't there, you can contact Breville via their FB page etc, and they might have an answer. If you didn't put the little paddle in correctly, that might affect it. That's the model I have, and it does specifically tell you to make sure the paddle is on correctly. (Flat edge to flat edged) Quite enjoying our bread at the moment!

I haven't used my breadmaker for a while. The kneading paddle will not rotate. The shaft is stuck solid. What do you suggest?

Frog

I threw mine out ( recycled it at top).It didn’t come with the right paddle when I purchased it. I had to order and pay for the right part from Breville ( Go Figure!) It still didn’t knead the bread properly. Sorry I can’t be of help, but it is a dud of a machine. The ones they made over 10 years ago work like a treat.

This is an old one but I haven't used it for ages. The shaft is stuck solid, the motor works but the paddle won't turn.

Carolyn M.
Carolyn M.

Is it actually jammed on to the shaft incorrectly? It may simply be stuck...if you're game, you could try pulling it off with pliers..but obviously, that might damage it. Or there was something inside the groove that has solidified to make it stick?

tony
tony

Thanks. It is actually the shaft which is locked solid. I have removed the paddle without any difficulty. Now making bread by hand.

Try crc, leave overnight, then give it a jiggle to see if it will budge, then a ready thorough wash with dishwashing liquid, rinse very well.

Hi, I have an old working Breville Bread machine and I just washed it to use it but can’t remove PADDLE paddle. Can you pls email me instructions at bksim@singent.com.sg. Thanks (26 Feb 2020)

Contact the manufacturer with your model details, they'll be able to troubleshoot probably.

Not all paddles come out. Nor do they actually need to, as long as they are cleaned.

I have purchased a Breville Baker's Oven second-hand, never used, and the collapsible blade is not collapsible at all, in fact it's stuck like glue. Soaking in hot water and detergent for 30 mins and giving it a good clean with a toothpick and soft bristles, followed by soaking in WD40 twice, has not budged it at all. It will not move. What else can I do, please so that the blade pivots easily? Or can I just leave it in the upright position all the time? Thanks, Diane.

Hello Diane, Please send us an email to askus@breville.com.au and we will be happy to assist with getting you a new kneading blade for your bread maker.

Diane P.
Diane P.

Thank you for responding. I actually don't need to purchase a new kneading blade as the one I have has never been used before, so in essence it is still new. Can you help me in how to loosen the one I have so that it pivots easily? It's not budging at all. Diane.

I have a brand new Breville Bread Machine. I have made 2 loafs of bread so far and both times the paddle has stuck in the bottom of the bread. I washed the paddle well and dried and made sure that the paddle was in upright position when placing the ingredients into the pan....any suggestions? Btw, I live in Canada.

Mary
Mary

It is easier to get out with a rub over with butter before use but I find I usually have to get it out of the bread too.

Ted
Ted

After I wrote this I read on you tube somewhere, to put a drop of oil where the mechanism is for the paddle to flatten. As I do not know what the two screw like sights are for I also oil there.....so far so good. Thank you Mary for your reply.

Hi, I am in Western Australia in the Great Southern. I have a BB280 and use it every week. Is there a service agent I can take my mixing bowl to, because I think flour has gone down alongside the mixing shafts, because they are very tight and you can hear the crunching of crumb?

Thanks!

Mary
Mary

What I do is when I remove the bread put the mixer blade in something to soak if it needs it while I have the pan or bowl { the container that held the baked loaf away from the baking oven which should never at any time have liquid in it due to the fact I wish to remain alive [\water and electricity is lethal] I cover with water no dish wash or anything to make sure when the blade goes back on there is no old bread clinging to anything. If there is anything stuck inside the blade a good soak and under the tap to wash through the inside

LMMM

Exactly!

Hello, every loaf of bread that I’ve baked the dough cooks around the blade so every single loaf has a hole at the bottom. How can I stop this? Is so annoying have a hole in each loaf.

Mary
Mary

I butter the blade to make it easier to get out just leaves a smaller hole

LMMM
LMMM

As the other person suggested, butter it, but that's what bread makers do. If you don't like holes, use the dough function and bake it in the oven in a tin. If you can be bothered timing it right you can catch it before it bakes and manually remove the paddle , but that can be risky, lol.

I have the Baker's Oven (BB280). Where can I find information on how long each kneading cycle is? I would like to know the time to add extra ingredients such as grains and seeds to my bread, however I cannot find this information in the manual. The manual states that the machine will beep 12 times 8 minutes before the end of the second kneading cycle which is fine if you stay in the same room listening for it (it must have beeped when I left the room for a few minutes) - it would be very helpful to know from when you press start say on the dough mode how long into the 90 minute total time the extra ingredients can be added? Thanks, Jane

Kellyshikades

Jane I just throw grains etc into the dough before it starts to knead. Had no problems at all so far.

Why does this machine keep tripping the power safety switch in the kitchen the second it goes into bake mode? It is alone on the power socket and repeatedly did this. Is this a design flaw or do I have a faulty unit?

Kellyshikades
Kellyshikades

I'd say it's faulty! Only way to check this is to switch everything off using power and turn one item on then off as you go along until you find the appliance thats making it flick over the safety switch. It could also be the power point too.

Alan
Alan

There is almost certainly more than one socket (receptacle) on the same circuit. The combination of the breadmaker and some other appliance on the same circuit adds up to trip the breaker.

Richard S
Richard S

I read somewhere that when in storage (especially in damp climates) the heating coil absorbs water which causes the tripping. It was easy to solve, they suggested putting the oven with the lid open in the bright sun for a day - I did this and it still tripped my power. So as the next day was very sunny I left the breadmaker in full sun for another day. Hey presto the oven has been working perfectly for about 2 months now. Note I did a complete cycle (3hours) without any mix in the breadmaker to make sure that it worked before potentially wasting the initial ingredients. I live in Brisbane, Australia where the sun is quite hot so it must take some effort to dry the heating coil.
