Poorly made unit – Poorly designed unit...uses graphite paper for a heatsink medium....silly idea. ..burnt out peltier...bought one/2 online for like $6 on ebay scrubbed the graphite off and used heatsink paste...works very well now...see how long it lasts now...am chasing another one of these units... I had a problem with a Thomson Tablet that I purchased from Target. Took it back to Target after 13 months, they didn't want to know about it. So I rang their head office. The guy I spoke to tried to pull the "it's out of warranty" crap until I told him, I have spoken with Consumer Affairs and was advised that it is "reasonable" for me to expect that the item will last longer than 12 months. After some to-I got and fro-ing he agreed to give me Target vouchers to the value of $150.

So I suggest anyone else with similar issues with their product try using the "it's reasonable for a consumer to expect that the product will last longer than 12 months" line. If the company refuses tell them you have spoken with Consumer Affairs/Small Claims Tribunal and that is what you have been told and you are happy to lodge a claim.

actually adjusting the chilling temperature, it just simply adjusts the mixture of chilled water and non chilled water so if you for example choose lower temperature, the fan may run longer at higher speed after chilled water has been consumed...

I also turn off the power after the summer and simply use it as a water filter. Even in the summer, I only turn on the device just one hour before use as the device uses quite a bit power. I think a energy efficient one can be designed but it would be a lot more complicated and expensive.

This device would suit user who has a small fridge which is lack of space for a filtered jug.

to this unit, which is also gravity based it pours alot faster and has a higher tap so you can fill drink bottles up easier aswell. Has a water chill temprature setting which is handy if you dont want really cold water during winter time and would save a bit of money.

The unit holds alot more water too than the others i had for about the same size too and is alot quieter when chilling the water. Its quiet, it holds a decent amount of water, the chiller control is handy for winter/summer Only thing i can think of is you cant have it right in a corner as you need to have it 10-20cm space on the back and sides.

Not at all recommended, – It's summer time desperately need cold water but from last two weeks cooling system is not working at all, This product is less than 15 months old. Not worth buying such products and paying too much cost for non reliable product. Unfortunately I can't find invoice to claim for product warranty.

On our second unit, never again!!! – Our first unit stopped chilling just after the warranty expired and was reluctantly replaced by Breville. The replacement unit stopped working on the 15th month and after calling Breville Customer Service they didn't want to know anything about it, and advised to take it to a service centre at my cost. Extremely disappointed with the terrible support of obviously sub-standard product. Breville products.. Never again!!

Same Problem Only Last For A Year – This is the second one Sunbeam water filter & Chiller, the same problems they all only last for a year and then no more chill water. Very disappointed. It should be give the warranty at least 2 years or they should fix this problems or change the technology for this product.

Fan is super noisy – My previous Sunbeam water filter & chiller lasted me for years but has been discontinued. I decided to try this one. It worked well at the start but after a few months I noticed that the fan is constantly on even though I had the temperature setting to room temperature. The noise from the fan became too disruptive so I switched the machine off. It still works as a water filter but it would be nice to get chilled water without the noise.

Lovely until it died – This lasted me a couple of months before I had the same problem as everyone else - flashing white light, and the fan goes off after a minute or so. Now it's a very, very expensive NON chilling benchtop filter. It was a gift, so I don't have a receipt. Really, really disappointed.

About time they were fixe up – Have had one replaced every year for the past 4 years - they lasted just before the year up, now this last one has given up after only 8 months. Think it is now time to give up completely, which is a pity as lovely having cold water on tap without having to open the refrigerator, but it looks as if I ned to revert to that.

Water Chiller – I have had a total of 6 Sunbeam/Breville water chillers. They continuously breakdown and do not chill the water. It is far easier keeping a jug in the fridge. Returned my 6th unit to Myer in about 3 years today. This product is definitely not worth having in either makes in your home as the chance of any longevity is remote..

will be getting returned to place of purchase soon for replacement of full refund. I knew there were bad reviews before we bought this item, but like I said, there's no choice out there. My advice would be to avoid this product. Try a filtered jug for in the fridge.

Waste of Money – Took home from Harvey Norman, didn't work. They checked it, said it works fine, took back home, water a bit cooler than tap water. Put it in the wheely bin where it belongs.

Unreliable product – This would have to be the most unreliable product I have ever owned. have it replaced again in November. Can understand buying the occasional dud but having it happen continually over six years? I only keep buying it as it is about the only bench top water chiller on the market (that works with the filters I've already bought). There used to be a Sunbeam version but it was even more unreliable and somewhat tellingly, Sunbeam no longer sells chillers.

When its working, it works fine however, as it ages, it takes increasingly longer to chill until it reaches the point that unlike the hour or so it should take, its taking closer to 24hrs...before it stops chilling all together. Sorry to say but if you purchase one of these, don't expect a long life. I'll make sure the next fridge I buy has a door water dispenser.

Never stops running – I was given one of these as a gift. While ever it is turned on, no matter what temperature setting is selected, it seems to be running at maximum power (we put a meter on the power point to check). The water temperature is different at the different settings, but the power consumption seems to be about the same. If I leave it turned on it will cost a fortune to run!

Brought it 4month stop working – its has flashing light. i call customer service. they are said cannot do anything with out receipt. I will not buy anything on this brand anymore. wasting money.

Piece of crap – Whatever you do don't buy this piece of crap. I had the same problem as everybody else. I have thrown the main unit out in disgust. Now I just place the filtration bowl on top of a jug. It's simple and quieter than the noisy jet engine in the unit and takes up a lot less space. Breville, your crap!!!

FAULTY BWC200 COOLER – Fan won't stop running,dosnt matter if cool control is at min setting it still keeps going chewing up power,drawing 100w @ 24hrs a day it's not good for the power bill either. It worked fine at the start an then at about 6 months it started to play up. It has good ventilation around it . I don't think I will buy another one.

Lucky to read Product Review – Was going to purchase the Breville as my Sunbeam one died, it appears that they both have the same problem. Shame on both these major manufacturers selling a product that does not last as expected. The only good thing about them is that they used Britta filters however they can be quite expensive. Wish I had read about this water filter before I purchased it!! – The filter no longer chills the water - the light started flashing yesterday and I couldn't understand what was happening - today I see it is not working so I have turned it off. Hopefully it will still work as a filter! Back to bottles in the fridge I am afraid. Convenience and more space in the fridge! No longer chilling!

Doesn't cool water that well, even on MAX settings – Bought this on sale thinking it was a great brand with good products in an attempt to get me to drink more water. manual mentions it only cools some at a time. Other ones seemed to have cooled alot better.

Recently it has started to go funny - fan would go full bore for a few seconds then stop, then repeat, the light would run bright, then dim. I am going to put in RMA tomorrow to fix. (10 months of less-than-average use).

could be colder & It does pour quite slowly - don't try and fill a 1 litre bottle if you're running late.

Failure...do not buy one – I've had 2 in 9 months and both failed, absolutely useless, will never buy anything Breville again if this is what their quality is like. First one just kept the motor running and not chilling anything, the second one the motor came on and off constantly, again not chilling anything. When it worked it chilled the water Spent more time not working then it did.

works well when working – Machine stopped working after about 6 months. The cooling fan stopped working. Was great when it was working. Also provides filtered water. Make sure you get the extended warranty and keep the box/receipt as there is a high chance of returning item after a few months. Its a pity as this is a great product.

the light is solid and fan works for only 15 secs then stops again. I purchased a 2 year extended warranty and apart from having to return it every 6 months, we really like it mainly because of the temperature control. One thing that really annoyed me was when I contacted Breville about it, they fully denied they've ever had any returns, luckily Myer's returns policy on Breville products is easy and they just replace it every time. If you would like to purchase this product please take the following advice. 1. Buy an extended warranty, its like $20 - $30. 2. Be prepared to return it, multiple times. 3. Keep all the original packaging when you return it. 4. Take a little 10 sec video clip with your phone to show the sales staff, saves them from going through the hassle of testing it. Temperature control, Brita filter compatible, nice design requires replacement every 6 months, definitely a design flaw in the circuitry

Faulty – Purchased the Breville from Myers three weeks ago and fan stopped working after two weeks. Sales lady told us "this is the second one this week to come back". I think I might try the Sunbeam again. The Sunbeam only lasted two years but it is half the price when it is on sale. Design Thought it could be colder on the coolest setting.

Works well – This unit replaced a Sunbeam chiller in which, like others here have posted, the pump failed after only a couple of years. It chills the water very well, although the first bit to be dispensed isn't cold. Also the chilled water reservior could be bigger - only 1 litre of chilled water. capacity and the filters are readily available at Woolies, Coles etc, and are much cheaper than the Sunbeam ones.

It's not very quiet, and the cooling fan runs 24/7, even when the water is down to temperature - it does slow down though. Water gets cold. Replacement filters are cheap and easily available. Could have bigger chilled water reservior. Could be quieter.

Great looking water filter – We are really happy with this water filter, easy to install, easy for the kids to help themselves to fresh water. We sit on a bench for easy access. into practise, at my work we have one of these chiller filters and its fantastic I totally recommend this product its a must buy , even my customers come in and ask for a drink and are so amazed of how good it tastes i send many customers to buy this unit, if we have to continue to have this awful chemical in our water , at least we can enjoy the taste of filtered water and give us back some happiness when we have a drink , this stylish machine can bring a smile to many a person and so easy to use , i want and need this machine yesterday . kind regards compact, reliable, inexpensive and it works
