Disappointing product and customer service from Breville – Poor product and poor service from Breville AUSTRALIA. This is the second Breville dynamic duo in as many years the first one was constantly leaking and this second machine purchased 9 March 2023 boiler packed up steaming from top leaking throughout machine by 2 July 2023. The worst customer experinece and service I have ever received. Really… Read more

cannot express in words how disappointed by the product and appalled by how Breville dealt with the issues. See images. Over heated to 107 ruined wooden bench top. Breville want to descale. The machine shut down due to excessive temperature. Breville did not want to help it is 3 months old. Dangerously hot is a concern Steam coming from the top yet Breville revert to script of descale to fix the issue. Ridiculous for the $2000 plus this is substandard. Better to put towards a proper brand. This is the second Breville I have had in 2 years. Really bad do not reccomend.

Not worth the expense – We have had nothing but problems. We have taken it to the repair 3x since owning the machine. Once within the 2 year warranty & twice after. After 4 years the mother board has packed it & we have been quoted over $500 to fix it. We stated our case to Breville that an expensive machine shouldn't have failed so majorly & to at least pay for the parts to repair but they said no. Never again! Show details

Makes home made coffee that matches the quality of cafes – I bought this machine as I was looking for a semi automatic machine that could accurately extract coffee in terms of quantity and temperature and froth milk with texture akin to what you would get at a cafe. Overall, the Breville Dynamic Duo has lived up to my expectations. After some tinkering with the grinder dose (which depends on the… Read more

freshness of the beans I bought), I was able to accurately and consistently extract coffee at 9 bars which is what typically occurs at a cafe.

I am very satisfied with the consistent temperature of the coffee extracted being at 93 degrees Celsius due to the presence of a boiler as opposed to a thermoblock model where water passes through a hit surface, which may result in temperature inconsistency

The quality of the frother is also outstanding as I have been able to froth milk and alternative milks with microfoam which has enabled me to do latte art.

The presence of the dual boiler in the Breville Dynamic Duo means that I can extract coffee at 93 degrees Celsius and froth milk at the same time. As a result, I have been able to do latte hearts and look forward to learning more latte art. Overall, I believe that the Breville Dynamic Duo is worth the investment.

Really good coffee – This machine is magic. It brings out all the mellow subtle flavours in the coffee. I have the smaller one (BES 870?) too and the difference from the same beans and water is noticeable. They are both good machines, but the dual boiler is outstanding. Show details

Semi Auto Dual Boiler is best but a Poor grinder – Update 03/24. The unit was not coming up to pressure, So it was under extended warranty so i sent it off to be assessed, assessment came back with it needing a new triac board and would be a 6 week wait, this was not good enough and I asked for an alternative, that alternative was a full credit on the purchase price at the point of purchase, I… Read more

suppose after 3&1/2 years and just under 10,000 household shots it has paid for itself. So we upgraded to an oracle semi auto 980 model. Can't complain as it works a treat. Now Just have a spare grinder to sell.

Update to BES 980 - April 2025 - steamer wand spat the dummy and wencto to pieces, sent it back under breville warrany and steamer want was replaaed in 24hrs. Update 09/2022 - Steamer wand now keeps leaking dripping once its at temperature pressure, very annoying and will need to go back under another bloody warranty claim.

Update 03/2022, -16 months post purchase. The grinder associated with this DUO package has slowly gound to a HALT ( pardon the pun ), with the unhappy task of using Harvey Normans warranty service area again. The Grinder unit has been slowly, slowly changing its motor noise over the past month with it finally giving up the ghost. We use it to make up to 5-8 coffees a day if not more, not good enough i say from Breville. you just lost two stars. Should've purchased the coffee unit only and a better brand coffee grinder. This is my 4th upgrade 11/2020 of Breville coffee MC's over 15yrs. ( started from the early simple models to the 860/870 now this This dual boiler BEP model ) We roast our own blend of green beans in 25kg lots and This Machine really extracts the best out of the bean thus far, consistently. Easy 1 minute start up and temp reached is consistent & can froth/heat milk at the same time as extracting coffee. Its easily programmable as well as the grinder, BCG820 ( we can now grind to suit plunger/filter etc etc ) useful if going away or during a service of the 920. Supplied Manual is good. I Like the water filler at the top now + 2.5Ltrs water capacity and their are small wheels underneath if you need to move it. Ext; warranty product care is a max; of 3 yrs @ $199 extra ( total warranty of 5 ) and is recommended, as i've utilised this twice over the years as the BES870/860 seem to have problems in that 4-5yr timeline, we do output 5-8 cups a day in our family so the payback is worth the extra $ outlay. I'm hoping that with the updated dual boiler model the usefulness of this machine is way longer that 5 years. Ensure you clean/descale as per specs in the manual. TIP;. We Descale with 50/50 white vinegar & water. These MC's work best when their used regularly, not once in while. The Black model suits our Kitchen decor, but the earlier superseded BES SS model can be found much cheaper on its own, ( BES Model @ 1700 watt, the updated BEP model @ 2200 watt - be aware? ) then just purchase the grinder separately ($200) or even a better grinder. see 03/2022 update above.

Has changed my life! – Perfect for the home barista. I'm a coffee snob and this has been perfect. No need to buy coffee from the cafe. The dual boiler is great so you can extract the coffee and texture the milk at the same time. You won't be disappointed. Show details
