Best bang for buck, though noisy and somewhat less efficient than cold-pressers
In my seven years sporadically using this juicer, it has worked reliably and juices admirably for its type. Why sporadically? Produce is expensive, and juicers chew through produce like mad. Having recently purchased a cold-press juicer, I can confirm that the Breville Juice Fountain does a commendable job of extracting juice in comparison. Cold-pressers do better, but for triple the outlay: they will not give you twice the juice: not even close. The Breville is very noisy however: it's difficult to have a conversation with anyone whilst operat...
Read moreing this machine and I certainly wouldn't use one in an apartment block, out of consideration for my neighbours ... but it is a powerful and well-built machine. A big plus with this device is how easy it is to pull apart, clean and re-assemble; the main difficulty being cleaning the rotating mesh strainer-basket without damaging it, using the supplied stiff brush. But cleaning this part is critical to the performance of the juicer: it must be thoroughly cleaned and pores cleared in order to maximise the device's juice extraction performance. By-the-way, it's advisable to clean the machine immediately after juicing, before the pulp begins drying. Even leaving it for half an hour after juicing will dramatically increase the effort required to clean it. Be advised, this machine spins at the speeds and loudness of a bench grinder, so operating it is a rather agricultural experience. When making a big-batch of juice, a constant-feeding approach with an open chute (as facilitated by a cold-press juicer) is ill-advised as lone, harder veggie pieces will readily be ejected from the chute. Juicing in full-chute batches, however (using the supplied plunger) requires long waits for the device to spin down between refills. I haven't timed it, but I'm quite sure it takes almost as long to spin down as it does to juice a full chute—something like 15 seconds or more—which is enough to double the total juicing time. The machine will smash almost instantly, soft individual pieces of fruit, revealing the crudeness of its juice extraction process. The processed pulp is moist-to-wet, depending on whether it's greens, veggies or juicy fruit, but it's never runny-wet. Yes, the odd larger piece of pulp gets through, but that even happens with cold-pressers. So while there are more efficient technologies available, this centrifugal extractor does a pretty good job. The resulting juice is smooth and free of grit or pith. My favourite juice formula includes pineapple, which generates considerable froth! The juice outputs a little warm though, which isn't great in terms of maximising the nutritional value of the juice. I make large batches of green juice for my family of four, and a full, nominally 800 ml jug (as supplied) is enough to divvy-up into four large glasses—one for each of us—after blending the green juice with avocado and ice in our blender to make a creamy, jade green smoothie. My favourite smoothie recipe requires the juicing of kale or spinach, apples, celery, cucumber, pineapple ... and I like to add ginger. It's in juicing the drier, more cellulose ingredients like kale, spinach, celery and ginger that I feel this juicer is especially outclassed by cold-pressing juicers, so combined with the overall loudness and 'roughness' of operation, I'm taking a star off even though I think this is as good a centrifugal juicer as one can buy, and excellent value at only $139 today at Harvey Norman. In conclusion, the Breville Juice Fountain Compact represents an excellent and affordable gateway into juicing, for those unsure or just starting-out in juicing and looking for a cheap and cheerful solution. These may well be the best bang-for-buck juicers on the market, but buy one on the understanding that you'll be making a lot more noise and chewing through more fruit and veggies to get the quantities of juice you require than you would with a cold-presser. Though I can confirm that in terms of juice-extraction efficiency, a 400-dollar cold-press juicer delivers nowhere near DOUBLE the juice, it most certainly extracts MORE juice, is far quieter in operation and offers a far more relaxed juicing experience, which counts for a lot; particularly first thing in the morning.Purchased in .

Good Juice for the Price
Good juicer. Bit hard to clean given the design but good results from juicing. Have not had wet pulp as stated by some others. Used for carrot, celery, ginger, apple, lemon, tomato, orange, mango, peach and nectarine with no issues. Would recommend.

Smooth Juice
I bought this product a few weeks ago and love the juice that comes out. It feels smooth to drink - there is a smooth creamy froth that is a thin layer of fine, tastiness. Not like in other machines I've had in the past. I find it quiet, especially compared to a blender. Clean up is easy enough. I've used this for celery juice and mixed juices. The fibre is fairly dry and not much more juice comes out if I put it through a second time. This design is easy to use, easy to clean and reassemble and easy to take out the fibre catcher and put it through again.

Love it!
Great juicer! So easy to use and clean. Gets lots of juice. Compact size. If you want extra pulp then just add some of it back in to the juice. Best purchase!

Good price for a functional juicer, but not the best if you're after the quality.
What other people said in their reviews are true. A day after receiving this juicer, I tried to make a glass of green juice (kale, spinach, apple). It was good, but I also found some chucks left in the wastage in the juice collector. The wastage was also wet, which I guess still have quite some juice liquid left with them.
For the second time, I made pure orange juice and can see juice leaks from the juice collector.
Pro: If you're after a budget juicer that does the job, this is not bad.
Con: some juice goes to waste; leakage; might not last for long

I didn't realise this was so good until I read reviews for others
To be honest, I have just started looking to buy a new juicer because I have had this one for approx 6 years and there is so much hype about cold-pressed juicers so I was about to jump on the very expensive bandwagon.
Now, after reading about how annoying to clean and time-consuming (some) cold press juicers can be and how many juicers don't last very long and some don't handle celery (which is a necessity for me), I am actually pretty awed by this one! The one that I have taken for granted as just an inexpensive bit of kit. I am actually ver...
Read morey very impressed with it. It did have a year off, but has been juicing up to three times every single day for the last 4 months and doesn't look like it will stop any time soon. Before that year it had off it was used 3-14 times weekly for about 4 years. So after doing hours of reading and watching reviews for other machines I think I am just going to stick with the one I have. Having said all of that, I will list the cons (which I don't see as that bad tbh) Cons -noisy (really noisy) -occasionally leaves chunks which can be wasteful but that doesn't happen very much -not good with soft fruit or salad leaves (IMO), and ok, this is actually a bit annoying and I might actually buy a relatively cheap slow press one for the random occasion that I want, I don't know, blueberry juice or something. Buuut, I usually just make smoothies with soft fruit and salad leaves so maybe I'll just save my money.- Build Quality

Breville Juice Fountain Compact BJE200
I juiced oranges, apples, pears, leafy greens and carrots getting a full container of pulp and only one small jug of juice that came with the machine. Pulp was wet and dripping, wherefore it should have been heaps drier, giving more juice. It went to the bin. I would NEVER buy a Breville juicer ever again.

Excellent Juicer
My wife has juiced every morning for many years but her faithful old Philips juicer finally gave up the ghost. It was now a discontinued model so the search for a new one began, reading reviews and watching youtube clips etc. Our main worry was that most juicers under the $200 range did not seem to be good with the harder veges such as carrot and beetroot. Anyway, the Breville Juice fountain was chosen and we haven't looked back. It really is an excellent juicer and it is much easier to clean than our old one - and processes the juice much bett...
Read moreer too. It is a nice looking machine too and we keep it in a corner of the kitchen on the work bench where as our old one was always tucked away in a cupboard as it was a bit ugly! We have had the machine a year now and it has worked for us nearly every day without a problem. Some of the reviews on here seem to complain about apple juicing but we have never juiced apples so can't provide any feedback there. We would recommend this machine for carrots, beetroot, celery, cucumber and lettuce. My wife gets one large drink with no lumps with 2-3 carrots, 1/4 beetroot, 1/4 cucumber and two sticks of celery so a healthy drink is cheap as chips.Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $169.

A great juicer
Been making apple and strawberry juice and watermelon juice. It so quick and fast. Easy to clean. Yes a lot of pulp, but thats good for my compost bin. Out of 4 apples and 250gms of strawberrys I got 800mls juice. Out of 1/4 watermelon got about the same for total of $1.55. Update...notice now when juicing juice leaks out under the round pulp collector. Not to happy about this. Will be returning to store for a refund!
October 26th 2019 Update: Leaks juice around the top
Had this juicer since Dec 2018. When used a lot at first, it didnt leak juice. Now it leaks juice from around the top of lid and down the side of juicer. Returning for a refund!

Not much juice
Bought this juicer because of all the good reviews. Juiced a variety of greens (kale, celery, spinach) - provided minimal juice and a whole tonne of pulp in the garbage section. Used about $20 worth of veggies to get a cup of juice - would've been easier to spend $12 for a 1L juice at Top Juice. Don't recommend.

Great: easy to use and clean.
I usually make fruit juice with carrots and celery and they are perfect. The juicer does not work well with frozen fruits. It is compact and extremely clean to use. The amount of juice extracted exceed the average juicer I have tried before. I would recommend to anyone looking for a fair price/quality option.

Love it
The price is at a normal price, I bought it at $98 which is alright. The size is okay, can juice out 1.5L that’s mean 6 cups of water which is suitable for a family if each one of you only drink 250ml
There’s a easy clean design, its round shape prevent trap of food in the bleander and it also comes with a brush when you buy it which is so convenient, if you do not want to brush it by yourself, you can also put in to the dishwasher, love it!

Was Ok but not good as I was hoping
I used it to get Apple and carrot juice, It always left big chunks of fruit even though Apples. And from my opinion it’s not worth the money. If you are spending $95 for just a juicer and wasting your fruit as well.
Not worth it. I bought it from good guys and they said it meant to be do that. If you don’t want the chunks go for a big one which is the next model of $167.

Questions & Answers
Mine grinds plastic into the juice, does anyone else’s? There’s nothing I can do to prevent it
You mean plastic from the juicer itself? No, that's not right. It shouldn't be doing that. Have you seated all the parts properly? Can you see where the grinding is taking place? It sounds like something is misaligned.
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, the top rim of the Integrated Pulp Container is getting ground away by the rotation of the Nutri Disc. I have tried to figure out why and realigned the components multiple times, but to no avail.
Is this cold pressed or not
The arm that goes over the top to hold the lid on has vertical movement and does not hold the lid at all so all the liquid sprays out everywhere.
