Terrible microwave

So disappointed with this microwave. This is the second breville microwave I own and they take 10 minutes to warm up the food properly. I’ve bought a $50 Kmart microwave that heats up my food under 2 minutes when I keep having to put my food back in the microwave because it’s still cold. Looks good but it’s definitely not worth the money. So disappointing. Show details

6 years old and still in perfect condition!

My house has a colour scheme of red and you have no idea how hard it is to find a nice red microwave! I found this one advertised online on the David Jones website and purchased online after reading reviews. I wasn't disappointed. It's a standout piece and 6 years later it still looks so sleek and modern. I've had no issues with its use - it has different features for defrosting, you can adjust the heat temperature, different settings for particular food items and a large display screen. It looks and works beautifully. Show details

Had this microwave for 8 years!!!

We bought this model microwave 8 years ago. It’s been moved at least 5 times with house moves and live most of its life in the hot tropics of Australia. It has never missed a beat.
Best microwave we’ve (family of 4, daily use of at least 5 times a day) ever had!!!
It died last night. Made a pop noise and then just doesn’t heat anymore. It is with heavy heart that I say - Goodbye my friend.

Worked well but did not last long

The microwave worked well, I really liked the dial controls - quick and easy to use.
However after 1 year and 10 months of really moderate use (maybe 1 min per day), the microwave has stopped working. Would not power on at all. Shame warranty is only 12 months.
P.S. Purchased LG NeoChef Inverter microwave to replace the dead Breville - nice design, easy to use and much quieter too. Show details

Well priced and still works today

I use my microwave almost every day to either defrost or reheat food and I have not had any issues with it. I don't use the other functions too much - mostly defrost, temperature and time. It's a sturdy good quality item that is also well priced. I love the matt silver and it's very easy to clean

Not work in 2 months

Great product for heating food and for grilling food. There was a huge potential for a great product but only lasted 2 months before it completely stopped functioning. I had to return the product.  Show details

Horrible quality

Absolutely terrible quality for the money you pay. It looks nice but it only last a few years. And for the price I feel very ripped off. Warranty is only 12months so definitely would not recommend at all.  Show details

Disposable Electronics

Well once again I can understand why this is a discontinued model. Until last night the machine did what a microwave is built to do, & then I went to open the door. The whole handle came off in my hands. I found my receipt, which has faded to a point where you can hardly read it, but indicated it was a little over 4 years old. I also had my extended product care warranty stapled to the receipt which stated I had purchased an extra 48 months. Hopefully this will cover the cost of repair or replacement as the timeframe has not elapsed. In most cases a trip to the point of purchase for assistance tells you this is to be expected in a disposable society. Unfortunately I don't have a disposable $400 to replace it. Show details

Lasted just over 2 years

Has stopped working. It only beeps. I've tried all the on-line suggestions about resetting the power by unplugging it for awhile. Before that, I liked the unit. Other brands I've had over the years lasted 5 years, so this is a big disappointment. Show details

Great microwave

This was a great microwave, even lasted four years.
All functions worked as described and very easy to use, it has now been discontinued, hope the next model is just as good, or try and find some old stock. Show details

Beautiful looking, but not as good as our old sharp one

Our last microwave strangely ended up with a black hole in the inside top of the oven, so we decided it was time for a new one. So we decided on the
Breville Quick touch. It’s the black model, so looks very nice n our kitchen. Has heaps of great settings and features but it doesn’t seem to be as powerful as our last microwave. Even though it is the same wattage as our last one. A bit disappointing, but at least it won’t leak radiation like our old one! Show details

Retro look and it does its job!

I bought this a few weeks ago as I just moved into a new apartment. It offers great size for a small family and I love the colour (Cranberry) as it just lightens up the whole kitchen. It is easy to use and good build quality. Definitely recommend it! Show details

disappointing

Heats well. Annoyances: Even though it has a beep volume level control, which I was excited about, you can't put it on silent! And for all it's massive showy LCD display, unlike an old-school microwave, you can't read the clock at night. Realised for me this is an important feature for a microwave, as it's the main readable clock in the night. The main button-dial is wobbly rather than feeling solid/quality. Otherwise fine. Show details

Worst defective product ever

Bought a complete set of white Breville products for a house. This was including the microwave within 12 months paint interior was peeling and on the door, it's Rusty and vibrates loudly. We also have a toaster that lights up spontaneously but we now need to ensure it switched off at the PowerPoint as it seems dangerous and a kettle which was very expensive that just boils continuously. I recommend everybody stay away from Breville products. This complete set was very expensive and would never ever buy another Breville product. The customer service is terrible for an Australian company. Show details

I have purchased this microwave a few years back, but as of the past year the microwave sometimes doesn't stop cooking. The timer goes off, but the heating component continues. Sometimes if we unplug it for a bit, then plug it back in, it goes good again, but give it a week or so and it starts playing up again. It's out of warranty, but very frustrating that a not too old microwave is playing up like this. Is Breville willing to do anything about the glitch?

Hi. How do you get a Breville Microwave Light Bulb changed? The BRAVO repairs agency are telling me that they can only do the replacement if the microwave is under warranty. Are there any other suggestions?
