The buttons – I have this rice cooker and it was passed down to me from my daddy so it we’ll over 10 years. Unfortunately the only buttons that work on it now are the keep warm and the reheat buttons. Is there a way I can get it fixed because I really cherish it, possibly a tutorial for it? Thank you!

Excellent and durable rice cooker – I'm writing this after owning this great machine for 10 years in case anyone is looking at it secondhand. Mine is still going strong and only just now has the coating on the bowl chipped a tiny amount. The rice comes out perfect, even sushi rice, there are no annoying beeps or lights, it just cooks rice really really well and is nice and sturdy.  Show details

Amazing rice cooker – This rice cooker is fabulous. We've had it for well over 3 years and it still works perfectly. Never leaves residue and cooks rice to perfection. Can't believe a machine that cops such a work out each week is still going strong and is showing no sign of having any issues. The unit itself also looks perfect, hasn't discoloured or faded. Great product Breville.  Show details

Love it – I bought this rice cooker 3 year ago from Bing Lee, broken just recently, I tried to get the same model but can't find it anywhere then I bought the newer model the rice box, it cooks the rice perfectly but after 4hours the rice gets soggy. I returned it to the shop add more money and bought Panasonic brand the same problem. Please tell me where to get this BRC 450 because it's the best rice cooker I ever had, Please please please!!!

great rice cooker – After killing my fair share of rice cookers over the years, I decided to spend a little more and bought the rice box. Have used it maybe weekly for about six months now, and so far so good. Perfect rice every time (mainly basmati), stays warm for ages without loss of quality, and no crispy bits stuck on the bottom! Like the timer function, and have tried the porridge, also worked a treat. Easy to clean. What more could you ask for?!

The perfect rice cooker – Perfect rice. No overflowing that you get from rice cookers that have lids that sit on top and have a tendency to be pushed off by steam. I lived in Japan for a few years and this is in the style of the rice cookers they use and from my past 7 years of use is an excellent choice.

Excellent – This is one of the most used appliances in my home. It delivers perfectly cooked rice each time and doesn't have that wet taste of some previous rice cookers. Yes it takes longer but quick is not always better. I have had mine for 3 years now and would replace it with same without any hesitation. perfect rice every time Can sometimes stick on the bottom when kept on 'keep warm' Show reply

A family member – We eat so much rice at our household. Actually, our extended families and friends as well. We used to have to change a rice cooker every year. Bought this because it was recommended by the salesman. We used it for 6 years now and still going. The timer is fantastic. We can come home with cooked rice ready. I used it cook white rice-long, short… Read more

and sushi rice, gluten rice, wild rice and poridges. We are fussy about how the rice turn out. This rice cooker manages to cook them all great. A trick from my family know whether if it is a good rice cooker, is when the rice is cooking the fragrant would slowly release out in the air. Warming function works too and it doesn't burn the rice.

Would be fantastic if they make a smaller version as well for everyday small family, just hoping :)

We love it so much we bought one for our parents. Very reliable, time saving

One of my best and favorite appliances – I have had my rice cooker for over 5 years. Without fail it makes the perfect rice every time. I love that it's portable that i am able to bring it to the dining table. It is one of the most expensive rice cooker on the market but in my opinion it's worth it. Perfect rice every time, portable, keep warm / Reheat option.

Cooks perfect rice! – Great Rice cooker, cooks perfectly every time. Easy to use and very easy to clean. I did burn myself the first time I used it because as I opened it after cooking the steam poured out and yes my hand was in the way....a trick for first time users. My last rice cooker which lasted 7 years had a lid that came off so I never had that problem. Easy to… Read more

Excellent – I'm so happy with my new rice cooker. I only got it yesterday & have used it twice already. Once to make rice & once to make porridge. we can I say both dishes came out perfect. The milk almost turned into cream, it was yummy, the best ever. would recommend this cooker to friends and family. very easy to use & clean maybe the length it takes to cook a big batch of rice.

Excellent – I really like this rice cooker and I'm so glad I bought it. Even my husband who was a bit sceptical thinks its great and has used it many times to cook rice and risotto. The Risotto recipes in the instruction book are delicious and so easy to make. I am very happy with this product. I recommended it to a friend who is also very impressed. It… Read more

Excellent – It is an overall fantastic product, with reliable functions. I would suggest this to everyone who wants to buy a rice cooker. Its easy operation--It is possible to use all of its functions without its user manual. All functions, such a as 'quick cook', 'cook' and timer(from 1 to 15 hours) functions work as well as they are designed to. I preused a… Read more

tiger brand rice cooker but switching to this ricecooker i was very impressed with its operation and taste and texture of rice cooked.I love its detachable cord, as my one accidentally came into contact with the cooktop (whilst unpluged) and got charred--but it was easily replaced by those computer style plugs. No backlight for the lcd screen for night time use.

Terrible – Let me first start off by saying this is a very easy rice cooker to use. Just one press of the button with the right amount of ratio rice/water and the rice will be perfectly cooked every time. Additionally the pot will not lose its non stick coating. On the other hand, after long term use the rubber seal under the lid turns brown and is… Read more

impossible to remove.

Worst of all the spring that lifts the lid and keeps it upright snapped the plastic holding it in place so every time we open the lid it would just hang almost closed. If the plastic and spring holding the lid in place was better built, it would be a perfect rice cooker but this issue is a major disappointment. Non stick pan, easy to use and perfect rice every time. Dirty lid seal and broken spring in lid.

Excellent – It's a great addition to the kitchen and cooks the rice to perfection without any wastage of rice stuck to the bottom of your bowl! The design and programmable flexibilty make this unit a nice addition to my kitchen! With a simple press of the 'cook' button, your rice and whatever you have programmed to cook will be ready to perfection. The non… Read more

stick coating of the bowl is great! No more rice stuck to the bottom of the rice cooker bowl! The normal rice cooking takes about 50 minutes to run full cycle. I think that is too long! When strapped from time, the quick cook function cooks the rice in about 25 minutes - but not as well - the rice is not as fluffy.

day the timing function works very well and simple to use. Its also very easy to clean. The only major problem with this cooker is the time it takes, on the normal cook cycle its about an hour long.

Excellent – This is one great rice cooker and steamer. I use it everyday. It has not given me any problems for years. I recommend this to everybody. great I use it everyday. The steamer accessories is also great for making leche flan. The normal cook option takes a long while to cook - maybe almost an hour. I just use the quick cook which is around 30 min.

Excellent – We've had many a rice cooker as we eat rice very often. This is far and above the best we've had, no other has come close to cooking the rice so well. The thick base of the pan means that the rice does not brown and get crispy on the bottom as it does in many other cookers. It comes out perfect and fluffy every time. Two thumbs up! Nice thick… Read more

based pan, timer, LCD screen which counts down the last 12 mins (helpful when timing the creation of other meals) Large size, and takes a little longer to cook rice than my last cooker but I think it needs to be larger and take longer to cook the rice so beautifully
