Poor quality plastic parts. This has been very lightly used - maybe maximum 6 times in 3 years. The last 2 - 3 times I’ve used it the wires have come loose mid mixing. I’ve had to fish out the attachment from what was mixing and try the re-set all the wires. It’s then re-attach using a screw driver. The third time it happened I asked my husband to help, he reattached it and it came loose straight away again. He explained that the screw was only attaching to plastic so it won’t re-attach once the screw has worn down the plastic. I’ll have to go with a Kitchen Aid next time.

Purchased for $269.

Not robust, but quite good whilst it was usable, usless once broken. no parts available – Bought mixer from JB-Hifi end of 2022 for $199. About a month out of the 12 month warranty, the plastic tilt lever on the side split where it fixes on to the shaft. No longer able to unlock the top bit to open up and remove bowl, so its a bit usless without it. Google searches suggest this is a common problem with them. Contacted Breville looking for a solution. The lever is not available as a spare part, and as it was out of warranty, best they could do was offer me a discount on a new replacement. Seems like a waste and not very sustanable. looks like i will need to gerryrig an alternative lever.

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $199.

11 months and the tilt knob broke and no replacement part available. Now a useless mixer! – UPDATE: please make sure you read the entire review. Breville informed me to cut off the power cord of my stand mixer with a broken knob and send them a photo which I did. They then sent a new stand mixer a couple of days later. My original mixer is now only good for landfill just because Breville never made replacement plastic knobs that would have cost them cents to produce.

Go to the Big W product listing and read all the reviews, majority of people with broken knobs.

I worked out the design fault of the knob and why it breaks if Breville design people are interested. ..............

ORIGINAL REVIEW: This mixer replaced my 40 year old mixmaster. After 11 months, the Breville Scraper Beater plastic tilt knob broke off. Without this knob, you cannot use the mixer!

I contacted Breville seeking a replacement knob. I was told they do not exist. Oh my, a part that only lasted 11 months cannot be replaced which makes the entire unit unusable.

This mixer was $200. I will now be taking my complaint to the ACCC exercising my statutory rights seeing Breville does not care. They offered me 60% off another mixer. The problem is I have already invested $200 plus their prices are full priced, unlike buying something on sale from a store, so no way I would take them up on their shallow offer.

I have been a loyal Breville customer owning many of their appliances, actually 10 in total. Well they just lost my loyalty.

Purchased in at Big W for $199.
